Tasty Home Games

The Hampshire Constabulary might have a lot of work on their hands, considering our first 2 home games of the season are Leeds (Aug 6th) and Millwall (Aug 20th), and then we have Notts Forest and Brum as our next 2 home games!

Mass punch-ups at 4 consecutive home games perhaps?

My point here is that our fans are supposedly in the same policing category as Leeds and Millwall fans (Category 1 I think), and Notts and Brum fans have reputations for trouble as well. Surely to have these 4 games so close together is causing more trouble than necessary?

Leeds fans can be pretty bad but never had any problems with us, my best mates a leeds fan been to home and away games, met him outside the KOP at leeds never got any abuse except 3-1 when we lost and theo couldn't finish for ****.

Millwall yea every time i been to a game vs these they always give it large offering fans out and seem as so they probs would fight anyone.

Brum and NF well never seen us have a problem with either of these sets of fans.

Hopefully. Will be good warm ups and get the firm back in the groove for our trip to Fratton in December. Good to see the fixture computer has given us a few tough friendles before the main event.

I've been summer training, have recently achieved Pro status on WII boxing and am ready for anything this clowns want to throw at us.

There were no problems with Leeds, Birmingham or Forest in the games I saw in the last couple of years, Millwall on the other hand was a nightmare both home and away.

Wear a hat for the away game as the filth will lock you in a fenced off area where debris will rain down on you from the home fans and youll be stuck there for an hour unable to move.

When has there ever been a mass punch up?

A very good friend of mine is a Millwall fan and STH, i'll be sure to tell him to aim for the one in the hat.

It's not the 'fans' per se that have a category, it's individual supporters. And we, unfortunately, had a few bad eggs.

When do you suggest we play them then supermikey? There loads of teams in this division with a rep. Cardiff, Pompey, West Ham, Bristol City, Middlesborough are other clubs with their fair share. With that wealth of experience of policing football matches when do you think we should play these games?

My team isnt in the same league any more, I got hit by a coin to the head last time but I had a hat on, if I didnt then it would have split my head open.

Cardiff are also pretty bad too, they will bump into people and apologise and then wait for a "no problem" or "thats ok" and attack as soon as they realise its an English accent so keep your mouth shut up there.....or get practising on a boyo accent.

I went to Millwall the last time we played them at The Den, there was no debris, althought i did slip down the stairs on the way out, was probably greased up by the filth.

So they beat you, purely for being English? Bit racist, that. :-o

Cheers for the advice but strangely enough we have played these sides before.

Having lived in Newport for 30 years I assure you Cardiffians just walk into everyone, whether they're interested in finding out if you have English accent or not. And despite not having a Welsh accent and utterly despising Cardiff City I've never had a problem with any of them.

Also, think about the logistics of that, Cardiff has a population of about 330,000, and only 3,000 Saints fans will be around on the day, so statistically they'd have to deliberately walk into a thousand people just to get one bite.

Not really, you can spot football fans even if they arent in colours. We noticed there were loads of dodgy looking types when Swansea played and of course it kicked off but they were fighting with the filth. Weve had trouble every time the Welsh come to town and they despise English football fans.

I know loads of them, and it's no worse general stupidity and ignorance than the nob-end kids we get at nearby Saints away games from time to time. You won't get me arguing that there's not an element of English-hating, but it's only the really stupid...
