Andy_Porter Posted 24 October, 2008 Share Posted 24 October, 2008 Couldn't give a toss, I haven't been going to St Marys for the football for a while. We could put out a team of 15 year olds and I'd still go down every week. Going to football games is about far more than just watching the games. Socialising, drinking with mates, travelling the country and meeting new people. I'll certainly be renewing next year no matter which league we're in. I am and have never been a member of B-banter,although I do sometimes read part of the forum. I was a long time season ticket holder at the Dell and Itchen north until the end of last season. Lets just say some of us have seen the light. I just got fed up with leaving at fulltime thinking I had just been to another Garry Glitter concert. Its just not for me anymore. I challenge anyone on this forum to miss 2 or 3 games and then want to carry on going at the end of it. Its not about being a uber fan,its about breaking a habit. I remember seeing us play in heavy snow and freezing at Bristol city,Wimbledon,Grimsby and many other grounds over the years. Wes Tender Posted 25 October, 2008 Share Posted 25 October, 2008 Heard last night that Chris Newman no longer goes to SMS since ruperts return, does not even write in the echo , have known Chris since 1960 , really sad news I have several business clients who bled red and white and had done through thick and thin. These are people who went to most away matches as well as holding extra STs for their customers and who also paid for advertising, sponsored players etc. But to a man they hate Lowe and now the Quisling, with a vengeance for how they have ruined this club and many of them say that they will never go again whilst Lowe is in charge. As for all those saying that they will go to matches regardless of how poor the spectacle becomes, then this is precisely what the two failures rely on. If sufficient numbers decide to stay away because of the way that the board is ruining us, then administration will loom ever nearer; but it might force the board to rethink the strategy that is alienating the fans, but I wouldn't bet on Lowe or Wilde having the humility to ever think about what we might want, so if we go under then the blame will rest squarely on their shoulders. I care less with each passing day.
Griffo Posted 25 October, 2008 Share Posted 25 October, 2008 Mate, please **** off and die. I couldn't give a **** who was in charge of the club in all honesty. I go for atmosphere, not so much at home, but all away days are quality.. And we are in the minority? Well attendances last season or season before were normally between 20-26k.. Now there's about 15k. Now is that less than half? I will be there no matter what league, no matter who's playing. It's our club. When these people **** off it will still be our club. Even if we go into administration and end up in league two, I will still be doing every home and away.. Or if the club goes out of existence I will support a team week in week out **** knows how many leagues below the Premiership.
AwaySaint1 Posted 25 October, 2008 Author Share Posted 25 October, 2008 I am starting to think the time may of come to mount a demo outside the club at 3pm on a match day! How many stayaway fans would support it? the chance to show Lowe just how much we REALLY love our club,to show him we are still around and are ready to return after his demise. An aeroplane with a message on the back is water off a ducks back, what we need is a couple of vans with large speakers on that can play a loop of the laughing policemen. I think if enough stayaway fans attend we can sing loud enough to drown out the mug fans inside.

So what you are trying to say is that you supported the club no matter what (under RL,being a PLC and even being a Plastic Club) untill that horrible man decided to close the area where you sat. Now that you do not want to move seats you have decided to mouth it off to those that still go without even knowing them. Have a think about the above then decide who the mug is.
