So amazing. Obviously I was scared when he lashed out at our fans early in the season, but he's really come back and been a key man for us, just think he's hilarious! As for the repeated calls on here to 'sign him up' - well he's no Annti Niemi but I guess most of us would be happy with that. You'd have to get inside this players head however to know whether he even wants to stay here anyway ... not a place I really want to go shipmates. Shearer said he thought he had better pull out of the impending challenge for fear of damaging our number 1 goalie, apparently Budgie grabbed hold of Shearer and told him to never pull out of a 1 on 1 with a keeper as they expect to get hit. They say you have to be slightly un hinged to be a goalie, and Boruc fits that bill. I think the water bottle incident was a defining moment, as he was flapping at fresh air so many times up to the point where he was getting the bird from the fans, his reaction was not professional, but I think the investigation (which had more to do with a young steward being brushed by the bottle) was a bit of a wake up call for him, as when he returned he certainly was meaner and leaner. Most of us realised that the Reading GK was slightly late and SHOULD have smothered the ball and come on through with the ball and through Jay Rod.. The GK hesitated/bottled it for some reason.. Jay Rod actually got his feet/contact well before and within the rules..Well played Jay Rod... For once I give praise to the ref and Lino for getting it spot on.....NA spouted crap re this incident. MOTD actually confirmed that Reading GK horendously at fault.....then histirionics (SPELLIN) ? AS IF INJURED TO FACE// Come on Bruce.......Your Sheila back in Oz will be ashamed... fareham saint phil Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 Loved the way when he threw the ball out of the goal to stop it crossing the line, he simply strolled out as if he didn't have a care in the world. GK's have to be abit touched in the head to go diving in at peoples feet knowing that they are going to get kicked, but yesterday that was the massive difference between the 2 keepers, I know which one I'm glad we have. AB's juggling was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while but not long after the ball came in from a corner and he plucked it out the air under pressure. Dimond Geezer Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 GK's have to be abit touched in the head to go diving in at peoples feet knowing that they are going to get kicked, I played in goal from 8-35 years old. It was the part of the game that I enjoyed most, have lost a few teeth, got a few scars, shattered a knee, buy loved every (well most) challenge, but at 5'9" I had to compensate for by lack of aerial ability with something. I can confidently say that there is no way I'd have let Jay Rod get to that ball before me. I consider my self fairly sane. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Why the **** do you start having a go at your own keeper in the first place? Otherwise Artur seems to be keeping a cool head at all times....cant be that easy behind Jos and his big left boot!
