mightysaints Posted 5 September, 2013 Share Posted 5 September, 2013 I am working on a Gov. project in London. Your money is being blown on 4 Wudu's (foot baths for Muslims outside the Faith rooms in a large office complex) £8k each. Other areas of waste inc lighting etc. for a refurb is crazy. Muslims don't pay taxes then, why should their money be wasted on Christian Artefacts or the upkeep of Westminster Cathedral or whatever. The nation pays for all of it's citizens.i

Clapham Saint Posted 5 September, 2013 Share Posted 5 September, 2013 Is your issue that the money is being spent on footbaths for Mulsims? - in which case you are a t it or that footbaths are costing £8k each? - in which case that does sound crazy (without seeing the footbaths themselves). Hatch Posted 5 September, 2013 Share Posted 5 September, 2013 Government overpays for everything A mate of mine worked for a computer firm that would charge the Government 8 times more for the exact same product than they would charge to a private firm And we are talking of 10's of millions, not just a few quid. Creates a few jobs and you usually have to wait for your money from the Government.

There used to be central purchasing consortiums that got very low prices. The government broke them up about 20 years ago in the interests of bringing in 'local autonomy and efficiency' ie lots of small purchasers lacking the skills and clout to negotiate good deals from the suppliers who had lobbyied for the change. SuperMikey Posted 5 September, 2013 Share Posted 5 September, 2013 Rather spend £32k on footbaths for religious people than £32k on posh wine for Downing Street.

Window Cleaner Posted 5 September, 2013 Share Posted 5 September, 2013 (edited) Its the costs I am seeing that are way over the top that's pi**ing me off They had this problem in quite a few Unis in the US, believe me 32K is nothing compared to all the plumbing needing to be repaired because of washing feet in the sinks. pap Posted 5 September, 2013 Share Posted 5 September, 2013 Its the costs I am seeing that are way over the top that's pi**ing me off I'm glad you clarified. I've just had the misfortune of sitting in a taxi with a racist scouse taxi driver. From the way he was going on, especially his repeated proclamation of "all dem Muslims", he didn't think that Muslims should be in Britain at all. 32K for four footbaths which essentially says "we care about your sh!t" is the best news I've heard all day.
