so on todays price, what Wilde and Crouch paid for their shares could have brought about 50% of the club

Provided that some-one was willing to sell them at that price;

Share prices change greatly, the intrinsic value of the company is what really counts.

Try to find some-one to sell you 2 million shares at 21p, you'll see what I mean;

and that just shows why the plc status is a farce, we have 60% plus of the shares in the hands of 10 people. i am still struggling to understand the benefits to the FOOTBALL club

IN Theory problem is none of the b**tards will sell

That's the sad thing. Those who have spent large amounts of money on shares wont want to sell up at a big loss. And those who were gifted their shares wont want to sell up at less than they could have gotten previously, or less than they could potentially get in the event of a full-takeover.

It would make it cheaper for anybody who is serious about taking over the club 100%, but they would still end up paying above and beyond the current share price.

It's times like this that the likes of Fulthorpe show their true colours. If, as we have been lead to believe by posts on this forum, the money is in place and Fulthorpe is ready to move, then now is the ideal and cheapest time to do it. But sadly I think we all know how serious that rumoured takeover is.

I agree Rob. Time for Fulthorpe to cometh or for us to tell the world at every opportunity that the club is for sale.

Problem is that the club is only a small part of Fulthorpe's investors vision for investment.

There are many parts that have to come together and that takes time, months not weeks. That is why Fulthorpe/Cousins saying to close friends and others that it will happen any day meets with cynicism and in some cases disbelief.

For me, and a few I know, it is cloud cuckoo land but we still live in hope.

Any reduction in share value is good as is waters down share price expectations .

percieved value of shares bear no relevance to the AIM price they never have and never will do but its a negotiation aid at least.

If we compare this with the FTSE AIM All Share index rebased over the past 6 months they should be about 12.5p.

So the movement is nothing much to write home about.

The share price is a barometer of investor/market confidence in a company. A drop of over 10% in a single day's trading is significant for SLH, especially when you consider its stock is less prone to typical market volatility.

And there's the rub. I bet some eedjit would be willing to sell not only his but also his friends shares at 60p!

And there's the even bigger rub, there's no takers at 60p, let alone 21p!

No it isn't.

Oh yes it is

[the pantomime season has started already has it Windows?]

The valuation of a company can be very significant, in terms of borrowing ability and so on. A 10% drop in value would be considered very significant in the financial markets for most companies. It may not be so significant for SLH plc, but nevertheless do not dismiss it so lightly.

A 100,000 share trade at 18.5p this morning....

Oo-er missus....

Fulthorpe starting to make a move....?

I'd say a rather good speculation bet. Saints in relegation zone with appalling leadership and a potential takeover on the cards... but I'd wait a week until Utd have put us out of the cup personally and pick some up for 10p.

As relegation becomes a reality expect the price to plummet further. I know it is obvious but there it is.

Good point. When do you 'bet'? Does administration wipe you out?

After the Cup game. I think a lot will happen then. We will sell, sell sell. Preparing to go down but staving off admin.

JP will survive but i think Glenn Hoddle will be employed as we start in Div 1 with a very young team.

Bringing Hoddle in is not the answer. All his appointment will do is divide the fans even further. The majority will be looking for examples of him failing in order to prove what a daft appointment Lowe has made again.

Worse choice of manager - no matter how much better than JP he may be.

Also - it is a myth that Hoddle and Lowe get on. They don't.

Also irrelevant. My old boss hates me but he knows I did the job he wanted, and in return I pretty much hated him too.

LOL. :)

I think my point about division was the main one though. We all like you working for your boss and support him fully for paying you enough to be a member of this wonderful site. We tolerated your old boss as he didnt run away and desert the firm you loved! ;)

No, no, you have me all wrong. I don't have a boss now. I was going back 12 years when mentioning my old boss, who I hated and who hated me. To be honest, it was more mild dislike, but the point I was making is that in business they don't have to be bum chums so I thought your comment about them "getting on" was irrelevant.

It was irrelevant, though it helps - when your chairman is actually part of the football team set up, being pally does rather help. Lowe is part of the footballing team as well as plc chairman remember... he IS to all intents and purposes Director of Football.

Anyway. That could change if Hoddle was appointed. I grant you.

The one we love to hate - Redkrapp - said he left Saints as it was a Club that no one talked to anyone, unlike Pompey which was a friendly environment to work in - an all round team. Lowe called Harry, 'Redknapp'. He has never been a team player was our Rupert. He has never run a sporting club as it should be - a content team working as a team from top to bottom - united.

Until that day, we shall continue to fall. But whether Lowe is good and deserves his 95% vote from shareholders for his stirling efforts behind the scenes - we must always remember that those who divide bring failure.

Harmony top to bottom produces better results. No Lowe, No Hoddle and you have a chance at unity. No plc and a boardroom working to one (ambitious) man and you have even more.

Is 100,000 alot in the scheme of things? I think its probably peanuts isnt it?

Depends what one compares the 100,000 against.

100,000 Vs total issued shares = peanuts

100,000 Vs the last time a round 6 figure trade went through = potentially significant.

A six figure single trade of SLH shares is a pretty rare occurrence....that's all.
