Lis also wearing a number which looked to me like 30 but not clear enough to be sure (Hampshire Live thought it looked like 69). A few of the numbers for the B team are shown in the latest photos or from earlier in the pre-season. Not all are visible but I noticed 47 Ollie Wright 48 Kegs Chauke 53 Dom Ballard 54 Matt Hall 56 Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo 58 Will Tizzard 60 Luke Pearce 65 Kami Doyle 66 Diamond Edwards 67 Matt Carson 69 Goran Babic Nico Lawrence appears to be fifty something. I think it is merely a sign that senior players with numbers are unlikely to be switched away from numbers they already have and they like the number. I recall Phil Jones last season refusing to give up the no.4 shirt for Rafael Varane at Man United. It wouldn’t surprise me someone like Alex McCarthy refusing to give up his no.1 given he’s trying to compete to be that (despite us all knowing he isn’t good enough). 😅 In the grand scheme of things squad numbers mean very little.
