Sadly if parents have a rather dim look on immigration, the EU, education, science etc then that's going to be passed on. Over the years I've had a few lads work for me who had challenging upbringings and nearly all of them had a mistrust of pretty much everything and everyone! I've only just managed to convince one that having a HepA and B vaccination won't cause you to become impotent.. In the past thick people were more deferential and trusting of those in charge. Now they are constantly fed the message that they are not thick, they are the ones that truly know what is going, it’s the ‘elites’ trying to manipulate you but you are too wise for their trickery. So you aren’t thick after all, things are really simple to solve. Sadly the psychology and the brain wiring won’t actually lead them to process information like hey since Brexit we have massively increased immigration I was misled. No, Brexit wasn’t implemented properly so I was right all along I am still not stupid. 8 1

So, that's why I don't think they're worth a go. And you have evidence of this? You don't think the media is already being dumbed down? Jeez. Guess what politicians won’t make it any better. Try some self-help and reflection and stop blaming politicians. You were born into a privileged period and country yet so unhappy. For someone who has self-proclaimed themselves as a worldly wise experiencing and adapting different cultures you really should learn to appreciate what you benefited from more. AlexLaw76 Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Another few thousand people ‘arrived’ this month. Nice of the local authorities to ask all our new doctors and engineers to not harass women or film anything near schools wonderful stuff. On the other hand, Starmer talking tough on National Security. This is like some sort of comedy sketch 1

Turkish Posted Thursday at 07:28 Posted Thursday at 07:28 (edited) Just listening to a discussion on tasers for police. A 14 year old kid got murdered on his way to school by a bloke carrying a sword who went on the rampage killing him and injuring 3 others, police took 20 minutes to deal with him because first officers tried to disarm him using a pepper spray. With knife crime a massive issue in this country they're saying should all police be armed with tasers. Some guy arguing that it's wrong for all police to carry tasers because it gives police more power to disproportionatly discriminate against black people. This sort of shit is what's wrong with this country, people more interested in this sort of stuff than keeping our streets safe. Edited Thursday at 08:17 by Turkish 2

It's not something I'd normally watch, and my first thoughts were "why are the police trying to take down a guy with a sword with something you'd spray on weeds. "Unsuccessful" said the clip. No kidding. A number of additional injuries and lots of terror. There were multiple encounters with the guy, mainly because the police were not equipped to deal with it. Sure, things like this are thankfully rare. But why you'd expect officers to deal with all sorts of incidents without adequate equipment is a mystery. 1

Obviously you cant predict every single incident and sometimes nut jobs go on the rampage where you'd least expect it but in areas where knife crime is a serious issue then it makes absolute sense to arm the police as best possible to deal with incidents in the quickest and most effective manner. Worrying about upsetting people of colour is a ridiculous, especially considering the victim of this attack was a 14 year old black boy. 1

The devil’s advocate is that in the Dalian Atkinson case (this being a football forum) the taser was used inappropriately with deadly consequences but overall yes, I agree that when the public are facing a life/death threat from a lunatic with a sword running around, the police are well beyond asking ‘please sir can you drop your weapon?’. Taser at the first refusal to surrender the weapon is fine and logical with me.
skintsaint Posted Thursday at 09:06 Posted Thursday at 09:06 I was amazed that the police don't carry tasers as standard when returning to live here from abroad.
