If people want to put flags up on their own property using a proper flagpole, as some did before the current nonsense, absolutely fine. Their property, looks smart, doesn’t degrade neighbourhoods in any way, good on them. And during major sporting events where Team GB, or England are doing well, perfectly normal stuff.

Shoving scruffy Sports Direct quality flags in the public realm - lampposts, shopping centres, high streets - that’s just football banning order territory and there to make non white British born people uncomfortable (this is certainly the case with work colleagues)  and those born in mainland EU, let alone the asylum seekers it is probably aimed at by Robinson’s thugs, and judging by Oakeshott’s comments Reform’s as well. More Robinson and Reform can be linked the better it is. Well done Isobel.

As for the vandalising of roundabouts, best to respond to the knuckle dragged brigade by converting them to noughts and crosses and Battenberg patterns.

Spot on. Re the highlighted but, that's exactly what it is. All this "patriotism", "proud to be English" is a very poor attempt to mask the reality. I'm staggered that anyone who comes out with that nonsense expects anyone to believe it.

Our Villa supporting son, ( please don't ask ), has said that he finds it ironic that their match following the fan banning furore was against Spurs.

There's a Welsh flag on the official road signs on the M4 that greets me a couple of times a week.

There's no English flag on the way back out though.

Bloody nationalists.

The Welsh will point out that the toll gates used to be on the English side whilst on theirs it says "Croeso i Gymru", "Welcome to Wales"..

Official sign though and if one of the agencies added an English sign the other side, fine by me.

But tatty Sports Direct flags hanging at all sorts of angles where they shouldn’t be on lampposts, and gantries is just another hallmark of a failed, backwards and insular country, typical of post-2016.

Easy mistake, they all look the same.  😉

Well Egg keeps calling them Haifa, so you do start to wonder, surely he’d get the teams involved right….

It’s clearly not the away fans behaviour, so I don’t know why he insists it is.

John Mann who is the Government advisor on antisemitism and long time campaigner against it has released a few facts of his own.

The police and Birmingham  council have ignored my advice. Unlike them I spent 3 days investigating the incidents in Amsterdam . Both clubs want all fans there and have fully cooperated in making this happen.

The feitenrelaas from Amsterdam police and council re Ajax v Maccabi Tel Aviv is unambiguous. 62 arrests. 49 Dutch, 10 Israelis. 5 injuries all minor,  all Israelis. These are the facts .

The police have had my detailed report on Amsterdam for 6 months. They have had my written advice as has Birmingham council. The decision is not based on police or Mayoral advice from Amsterdam.

Not sure where the official border is, but the toll booths were definitely on the Welsh side of Bristol water.

That always used to annoy me as well - always begrudged paying to get in and would have no qualms paying to get out ;)

So many of the Union flags are hung upside down.

What do you think of pride police cars, trains & zebra crossings etc.

That certainly doesn't sound like the type of hooliganism that would reasonably result in a blanket ban of away fans. I haven't looked into it tbf.

Got on a Cross Country train a couple of weeks back covered in a 🌈- got me to work on time so job done. Zebra crossings is a bit much personally, leave infrastructure as it is, it has a job to do. Police cars, I judge them by the effectiveness of what the forces do which isn’t great at the moment. Pride flags on patrol cars wouldn’t be an issue if the different forces were performing better overall.

Two points:

1. There's a reason Maccabi received a bigger fine than their opponents, and it won't be because their fans were better behaved.

2. Mann reviewed the Amsterdam incident. The police decision considered that plus current credible intelligence.

We have no idea what that intelligence was, but seemingly Mann didn't either.

I'll take the judgement of the police who have all the facts over that of a politician who didn't all day long.

1) Very true- Governing bodies never get anything wrong

2) Yes, take the judgement of West Mids police who have all the facts but were placed in special measures not long ago due to serious failings across multiple measures.

This fucking pathetic arse licking trust by the likes of yourself, in institutions that are repeatedly proved to be untrustworthy, is a wholesale lily livered gimpathon.

Because Reform-run institutions are so reliable and trustworthy 😂

Jackie Weaver MK2. ‘The situation with this group is not good’. Their words.

Classy stuff and yawning and appearing bored during a visit. Great to see them taking governing so seriously https://inews.co.uk/news/reform-mayor-stands-up-students-special-needs-lunch-3979903?srsltid=AfmBOornchTTmJpqx65ivKbKqTn3IHzGgMdWVgs5dbmdfB98X9SafxMu

1. Idiots like you always trot out crap like that rather than accept a reality which doesn't tie in with their opinion.

2. Ditto.

I'll ignore the little rant at the end.
