He has truly swallowed the crazy pills if this is his outlook. You have Iranians all over the world begging the USA to save the people from the regime ffs, videos getting out of civilians rejoicing and laughing at Khamenei's compound being hit, and its a regime that has just butchered 40,000 of their own people in a month, with millions more living under one of the most oppressive regimes in the world... But I guess he has voters to keep happy Just watching him on LK show. He quite clearly isn't siding with the Iranian regime, just questioning if the events of the last few days are really the best course of action for the world and for the people of Iran. He's got a valid point. Us following Bush into Iraq was an absolute clusterfuck and he's obviously keen to avoid the UK being dragged into another similar situation. But yes, I agree with Whelk that he shows incredible naivety as well. He claimed that Trump was negotiating in bad faith - which he clearly was - but you'd have to be a fucking idiot to believe that Iran weren't as well. 1

Article 51 is crystal clear. If there was an imminent threat, preventative action was legal. If there wasn't, it was illegal. Doubtless we'll be told what the imminent threat to the US and Israel was.

We're not privy to the negotiations, and have no idea what was said or not said. I suspect the truth is there was no imminent danger as such, but more of a let's stop wasting time with these idiots and end them.

Donnie has said "...WE WILL HIT THEM WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!". Given the firestorms caused by mass bombing of German and Japanese cities in WW2, as well as the deployment of the 2 nuclear bombs, I wonder what he has in mind that could possibly be worse. Having Russia on UN Security Council and then for them to invade Ukraine shows it all to be pathetically toothless 1

The West sitting back and tolerating Crimea set this off, and at it's simplest, Trump will do wtf he wants without meaningful international opposition. 3

Another aspect that has contributed to this attack being deemed viable, being backed by Russia doesn't hold anywhere near the weight it used to.
