Sunglasses Ron Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Like many I guess, I’m experiencing a mix of disbelief, sadness and anger at what’s happened over the last few weeks. Right now, I’m rueing the day that I chose to support Saints. That was in 1992 when we were a respected club with few blots against our name (the infamous 1972 “oh look at that” 7-0 defeat at Leeds being one). But that was more than made up for by the glorious FA Cup win, the magical Le Tissier era and those teams of the early Premier League seasons. I was always so proud to be a Saints fan, despite our lack of sporting achievements. However, fast forward 34 years and just look at the utter shite we have had to endure. Things that immediately spring to mind are: Ali Dia (an urban myth that will never go away) The Harry Redknapp saga League One minus 10 Saints 0 Leicester 9 Man Utd 9 Saints 0 Second worst team in Premier League history (by a hair) And now Spygate, which almost feels like all of the above combined. I mean WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK have we done to deserve all that? Genuine question, can any other club come close to rivalling this shameful collection of embarrassments? Like mugs though, we’ll probably all come back for another kick in the nuts next season (where we have -4 to look forward to straight off the bat). FFS! 1 1
Daft Kerplunk Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago We are definitely up there. In order to move on, ther ereally does need to be a significant clear out of staff across the board. Unless this happens, and a big noise about it, there will be a stink about the place for years to come. It's already bad enough but if they were a political party, they'd be clearing out their desks now after a existential election defeat. A whole new way of running this club needs to be implemented, with new teams across all departments, and sharpish. 3
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago When going into administration under the astute eye of Rupert 'kin Lowe is not your club's low point you know you've been lumbered with supporting the Ralph Wiggum of football clubs. 1979 started supporting this shit show and we've won nothing of note, two mismanaged forays into Europe and Le tissier is about the sum of our achievements in nearly 50 years of following them. Thanks Dad for gift of a bald head and Saints. QPR is only down the bloody road. 1 9

die Mannyschaft Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Yes, we will remembered for this forever. It puzzling to see how this was allowed to go on and sanctioned. Saints now have the skills and experience to lie to fans so we won't get the truth. All the great players we developed, 27 years top flight, Europe, finals its all in past now and each say, each match will just be this issue. Clubs allready looking at Scienza and rest will go. Just got my Winchester City season ticket and Saints need to make a huge reduction in next season price and people must exit the door nit just Tonda otherwise no progress and trust in club will happen. 49 years watching Saints to have these idiots ruin tge club.
Gloucester Saint Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) SR are like Rupert Lowe circa 2008, they shouldn’t be there and actually they’ve gone even further than he did in staining the club’s and city’s DNA. They are vermin and filth who should have the club on the market 9am tomorrow. Supporting the club actively I realised under Pellegrino was a waste of time, at that stage I’d been a supporter 33 years. Last game was Huddersfield home Dec 2017 so 8.5 years since I last attended. Was home and away under WGS, most of 00s and regularly 09-17. Early-mid 90s most home games until went to Uni. I’ll still look at the results on a Monday from the weekend but not watching live games or highlights even now until SR are long gone. More likely to watch Cheltenham’s home games on Sky but any EFL product makes me want to throw up 🤢 Cricket and Rugby are vastly superior sports. Edited 8 hours ago by Gloucester Saint

Pamplemousse Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I'd say Leicester and Portsmouth have had it worse in recent years. We've not quite sunk (yet) to their lows and in all honesty I don't think we will next season. 1
skintsaint Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Pretty sure there was a table of the fans who have suffered the shittest results in the last 5 or 10 years and we were up there. Add that to the initial list. 1

Yep we basically just suffer with only the odd game as positives. Everything else is constantly shit. At least when other clubs cheat, they end up winning things. Bunch of absolute fucking arseholes

Does feel like Saints are an easy target. Like last time with points deduction going into League 1. Other teams get theirs rescinded. Newcastle cancelling their game with us due to too many 'covid' cases and having half a new team in the rearranged fixture.

FFS! I started going regularly from the 71/72 season, it didn't start well. That 7-0 drubbing at Leeds on MOTD which still gets an airing, soon followed by an 8-0 at Everton. There's other crushing defeats, I was there for the 7-1 at Watford. I'd also bung in the away trip to Reading midweek in the League Cup. One of their fans made a hoax call to SFC to say the game had been postponed due to the weather. Club just accepted it and announced it was off so an about turn for the team and 5,000 away fans. Until they worked it out......... But I'll be back for more of the same, no doubt, next season.
