Which one are you?

Well I guess this is my Saints Web anonymity gone 😆

Louis Reeves 👍🏼

I’ve felt and read a lot of the (understandable) criticisms on here regarding previous FAB/Saints Voice groups, so thought ‘why not give it a go’ and try and be a voice for the ‘regular’ fan. I’ve been a fan since Junior Saint at The Dell in the 80’s, season ticket holder and member ever since, away games and European tours with mates (regularly) and family (occasionally) 👍🏼

I don’t use social media much (unless you count here), so not sure how much chance I’ll have, as it’s all about numbers and canvassing for votes, and I think some others have a big ‘following’.

But I’d love to do it and think I could add real value and an under-represented voice to the board, so if any on here are stumped on your ‘non season ticket holder’ category vote, it would be massively appreciated over here 🍺

Good luck to any others from here who have applied!

Fair play, I should have looked closer at the names as Louis was the giveaway.

This place should be a good way to gain some votes , in fact I'll vote for you

Ask Steve Grant to give you a shout out on the podcast 👍

You've had my vote - even before you'd said which one was you! Good luck!

🙋‍♂️

Yep I'm on there. 'Sean Stroud' in the Season Ticket Holders category. Would appreciate any votes. Louis and I actually sit in different categories so you can vote for both of us.

I don't post on here much these days (still a lurker), but as you can tell from my post count I've been here since the SaintsForever days.

Like Louis, I felt the frustrations with Saints Voice/FAB so rather than moan, I thought I'd see if I could get involved. I feel like I have a massive mix of fans within my network of friends so generally get a good idea of the frustrations fans experience supporting the club in different ways. I'm also active on here, most forms of social media and am in some pretty big Saints whatsapp groups to help me understand a little more about what's going on.

In terms of my background, supporting this club is literally my whole personality it seems. I'm born and bred in this city, have been a season ticket holder since I could stand on my own 2 feet and follow us away regularly. I feel like (unfortunately sometimes) this club represents me, so have a genuine drive to improve the club in any way I can.

So yeah, would appreciate any votes and I'll be on here taking feedback onboard if I'm lucky enough to be appointed.

Voted. Won't say for whom though, but it's interesting reading this thread. Would be worth seeing whether both or either of the two get in.

Oh, and edit: voted before I knew who was who and based on what they said i.e. they sounded like real people.

They see him here,

They see him there.

Shirt over a hoody and he doesn't wash his hair.

He's a dedicated follower of Southampton.

Oh yes he is (oh yes he is)

And if there's one thing that he loves, well it's the megastore.

One week he's in yellows, and the next week he's in stripes.

He's a dedicated follower of Southampton

Didn’t make the cut sadly

well looking at what we have on offer, I'm not surprised I didn't make the cut. I couldn't hold a candle to any of them as I don't go to most away games, don't run a multi million quid business and don 't want to overturn the bubble - plus I guess none of them wanted Will Still to die.

It’s makes you wonder how they’ve got time. Board members at multi million pound businesses follow saints to every game and bringing up their kids to follow in their footsteps whilst being all round great guys. No wonder you can’t compete

Smart move by Max to get Adam Blackmore on side

I think the contenders should go into more detail. A short mission statement isn’t enough. I want to see a manifesto I want serious convictions not just powder puff statements. Come on FAB applicants you just so better

Still no response from @St Louis or @Golden Balls about if they'll oppose the bubble, so before they've begun they're already ignoring fans. Seems like they're the perfect fit for FAB

We haven't even been elected yet, let alone started any role. So I dont know whether these kind of things will even be up for debate within the FAB. And nothing will be changed for this season of course, and I assume we will be two divisions apart for the 27/28 season 😉
But personally... Yes, I oppose the enforcement of the bubble travel (it's a good/safer option for those who want it though, but it should be optional in my opinion). I used to go to the Fratton away games, but stopped as soon as the bubbles started. So if these are the sort of topics to be discussed, and I got elected, and they wanted my feedback on it... then yes, I would absolutely raise my opposition and also stress that I know that's the general feeling amongst Saints fans who I speak to.
The premise of the FAB, is for it to be a 2-way channel of honest communication, so I would also be interested to hear more detail from within the club, as to why the decision has been made.

Comedy Workshop #834: Timing

Had St Louis waited another half hour, I could have got in my post about them not responding because ironically it's like they are in a bubble. 🙂

Best of luck with the election.

Well you have my vote then, because it's the single most important issue for me. In fact i can't think of many other issues that are more the kind that FAB should exist for. A fan advisory board should be actively pointing out that overtly draconian decisions on fans ability to travel, when we are almost the only club that still has to go through this, is outdated and not based in reality.

I know that it was Newcastle and Sunderland's version of FAB that got the bubble removed for their derby, and they didn't wait for the club to ask them they refused to take it off the table as an agenda item.

I do hope you keep to your word about 2 way communication with the supporters who elected you.

In all the years FAB has been going not one members has posted on any forum , Facebook, instagram, X that a meeting was coming up and asked for opinions on what was to be discussed .

From my experience they think they are a special group and only their opinions count.

how do you intend to ask for these views? And how are you going to give feedback?

Again, having not even been elected, I dont know exactly how things will work yet. I also dont know why the FAB seems to have been so invisible historically, but it is one of the reasons I wanted to get involved. I even stated that in my interview. I raised the point that many of us fans have been sceptical of the FAB and Saints Voice, as they've seemed a closed shop with little visibility, and we had no idea what they were really for, other than maybe a box-ticking exercise to appease the FSA.

If its something the club is open to, then again I'd reiterate that I feel better communication is needed between the fans and the club (both ways) on certain decisions.
If we have permission to be active in looking for feedback, then I'd love to be able to post on here (and other platforms) to actively seek thoughts and opinions. Why wouldn't that be useful to the club (and for me) to add value to the FAB? I'm not sure how it could work if there are only 8 voices being heard all season from the entire fanbase.

My background is in sales and marketing, so I understand better than most, the importance of listening to all stakeholders (in this scenario - the wider fanbase and the club) and not just being laser-focussed on your own thoughts/ideas, and those closest to you (often small groups of nodding heads around a table).
