2009-2010 ticket pricing?

It must be about a month or so until we start seeing ST renewal forms landing on our doorsteps, so next seasons pricing must be high on the agenda with a view to printing these forms. £320 for a season ticket based on a early bird discount has been mentioned, but after a yet another defeat I wondered how low ticket prices would have to be before you took the plunge.

If you won't set foot in the ground till Lowe has gone that is up to you, but I'm more interested to hear from Saints fans that are considering renewing or are borderline.

£299 perhaps which works out at exactly £13 a game.

If they offered a lifetime season ticket for £5k would anyone go for it?

Unless they do something really stupid (like hike up the price!), then I will renew no matter what. However, like you I am hopefully of about £300 for those renewing in March.

Lifetime ticket: would like to but couldn't afford that much in one sum.

£320 or as low as £299 would be a good price for next season. I think the club should look at two or three year tickets as a means of getting cash in up front. Something like a 10% discount would be fine given that you'd be looking at an outlay of something like a grand.

A lifetime ticket for £5K would be a steal, provided you think you are going to keep going for more than the next 15 years. Not sure how many people could be certain of their ability to keep on going for that long though.

Is that for MY lifetime or SFC ???

With admin around the corner, it could make a helluva difference !

when Pompey were going belly up a guy I know bought one of their lifetime season tickets. I think it was either £2k or £3k. That was about ten years ago and with season tickets £600+ now he's saved a fortune.

Only a few hundred took the offer up - not sure how well advertised it was - but at the time they looked likely to go bust so it was a gamble. Our situation is not too disimilar.

I think league 1 season tickets are around £300 so seems a safe bet.

Peterborough's ST prices for 08/09 were £230 (early bird) £270 (not so early bird) and £320 for late bird. These were Adult tickets in the London Road (standing) end. £335, £375 and £425 for seating.

Children under 10 got free season tickets when an adult bought one. Great idea.

I think it would be a sensible idea for the club either to:

A) Release prices based on what divsion we'll be in around March time & then start renewals in May (they could even call it May madness then!)

or

B) Not release any information on ST renewals until May.

If they go down the same road they did when we got relegated from the prem (having same prices for prem/CCC football) then i don't think we'll even see 5k ST holders renew

Interesting question this has been a tough year for me I work in the motor trade enough said I have had a season ticket since we have been at St Marys and I wouldnt want to give it up even if we are in league 1.

I will have a tough decision to make but I think they will need to reduce it would hope it will be under £300 then I will just about be able to justify it.

Lowe out

Does any one know the score on a 3 year or lifetime ticket should we enter administration?? Saying that even a normal season ticket, what happens if I re-new my 2 in march and the club enters admin in October, do I loose my money???

If they make people renew before we know what division we are in i don;t think my mum and dad will renew. They've ooh'ed and ahh'ed the last few seasons, knowing they can turn up on the day and get one and then not have to worry about going to the likes of S****horpe.

If we dropped down i'd be very surprised they renewed unless prices were reduced. If i was still down south i'd probably renew whatever, might hang to find out if Lowe was still there though.

I'll still be running around the Midlands and North of England next season whether it's for Barnsley or Stockport!

Yes, i think you do. THink it's been asked before, and you/we become creditors and the larger creditors are paid off first and then we're left with the dregs. I seem to recall that we wouldn't even get the full amount left back (so 10 matches at £10 per match - £100) we'd get back something like £1 per match... not sure why...??

This is one of the reasons that you should always pay by credit card.

after having a season ticket for 25 years,i won't be renewing until lowe and wilde have gone and taken the dutch revolution with them.if they can't see they're costing the club thousands by staying they must be more blinkered than i thought

Can you explain the relevance to our situation?

Just background info. It is one way for a club (PLC) to raise money. i don't think that it would work in our case. Although if someone wanted to create a supporter's association to run the whole mess then I might be interested. We could be like Barcelona, but with more glamour ;)

I love the fact someone called "tulip" is opposed to the 'Dutch revolution'!

Anyway, selling the right to buy a season ticket only works where there is an excessive demand. A few NFL clubs do it as well. A lifetime ST could raise cash there and then I suppose, but how many would they have to sell at £5k for it to make a difference etc?

i have been asked to play in the vets league next season so probably wont be going much, unless of course i get a early season injury that rules me out for the season ;-)

i expect i will renew my 2 older sons tickets but my younger son might have to make do with the odd game here and there, tbh he will probably enjoy seeing his old man playing again than watching saints.

i will probably wait until the end of the season before commiting to anything and i suspect there will be a lot of current season ticket holders doing the same.

I think it's fair to say that they are going to lose a chunk of current season ticket holders whatever price they come up with.

With that in mind, maybe they need to get away from the idea of early bird renewals, and just have early bird prices open to all. The only way this club can start to grow again is to get 'new' people through the door, they can't rely on the current season ticket holders all the time.

They've made this mistake for the past few years. The renewal prices have been great if you've already got a season ticket, but there was little incentive for people who didn't currently have an ST.

Agree with you scummy, for my money a season ticket is a season ticket. Doesn't matter if you re-new one or your a first time buyer, the club should be doing everything it can to attract new and old supporters!

Note: my nipper said he'd rather go on the march instead of the game against Preston, that's could be 2 fewer without even knowing next years prices!

Thats certainly what happened to Bournemouth season ticket holders last season.

However with that you also get all the paperwork and invites to the creditors meetings so you're probably better informed than you are now.

Any person with a bit of a brain will wait until we know for sure which division we will play in next season.

If we are relegated then the season ticket should be substantially lower than this season, if they try and keep the cost the same then they will lose even more season ticket sales

If we go into admin, can I offer 10p in the £1... so about £32 for a season ticket....

I miss all midweek games due to work so it's gonna have to be very cheap to make it worth my while. If Lowe is gone for good than I will renew, whatever price, whatever division.

The season tickets for next year must be priced at an attractive rate to make people buy in these uncertain times, we have no idea if the club will survive to the start of next season, we have idea which league we will be in. It is critical because it is alledged that the first £2 million of season ticket sales must go towards the repayment of the stadium loan each year.

If that does not happen they could foreclose an bring on administration if it has not happened then

By my reckoning we'd need 6,666 adults at £300 to make £2m then. I assume they'd all have to be paying upfront too & not by the pay monthly plan.
