Amesbury Saint Posted 14 February, 2009 Share Posted 14 February, 2009 Whilst the manager is one of our problems the real problem is the Board of Directors. There needs to be a series of planned and coordinated demonstrations over the next few months both inside and outside the ground, both on match days and other days. All within the law. With the aim of ensuring the current Board resign. Lets start league 1 in the best shape we can - a united club behind a manager who knows how to win in league 1, with a new board. There needs to be an inspirational leader who takes the shell of a football club we have into a community football club that we can all invest our money, time, loyalty and passion into. We have about 5 months to transform the club for a league 1 campaign. I actually believe with the right leadership that inspires the community of Southampton and surrounding area we could have 20,000 season tickets holders next season and almost a full ground for each. I am sure with the right leader there would be many skilled people in the area who would help, with their time, to sort out every part of the club. Just need that inspirational leader. Tell me Micky, what are the benefits of Lowe being anywhere within a 50 mile radius of SFC ?????? Not actually a true statement - 'anything' is plainly not better than Lowe. (But I really don't want to get into an argument about that). Benefits of him being at the club - from what I can guage (merely from reading this forum) - not a lot, other than he is the man at the helm - and he is the man making the decissions, most of which are sending us to oblivion. I would like to know both sides of the story though - I would like to hear his version of events as to how the club has crashed to this all time low. I have never met the man - however, after the farce that took place at the AGM, my estimations of those people currently occupying the Boardroom was severely dented in terms of the professionalism with which they conduct their business. If they acted as they did in public - god only knows how they are acting in private.

Micky Posted 14 February, 2009 Share Posted 14 February, 2009 I'm talking 'in general'........am I wrong then ?, if I am then I apologize. Let's just say Harvey that I take a slightly more pragmatic view of the problem. If Lowe was gone tomorrow.... no if the whole Board was gone tomorrow then I would be as happy as a pig in the proverbial shyte. That said, and the one problem that all of those advocation '12 point plans, this plan and that plan' are currently failing to see - is that we need people to run the club. There are no investors forthcoming - therefore anybody who takes over had better be damn good at their jobs - because there is no money to play with, only the limited assets that we currently have and can afford. We will need a damn good Board to get us out of this mess - and at present I don't see anybody putting themselves forward. So, to summarise - yes lets get rid of the whole damn lot of them - and then what?

I agree - I think that he would have at least kept us safe. That in turn would of taken some of the heat off of Lowe and he probably wouldn't be quite so vilified. Let's be honest, as fans, if we are winning, we dont give two hoots who is sitting in the boardroom. So quite perversely, had Rupert not made the decission to terminate NP's contract, he could have been sitting prettyin the Boardroom now with not a care in the world. I am not defending the current regime, but as I said - I would like to hear their side of the story. We can hang them now and find out the facts later - but what good is that. This club is in the mire - and simply getting rid of Rupert Lowe alone is probably not going to make a great deal of difference - in fact it could make the situation worse. The whole lot should be gone I quite agree. If they had anything about them they would have done by now !!!!. They are completley spinenless, a waste of skin and most certainley a waste of oxygen. They have got no dignity & no honour, the fans are the only people that SFC should be proud of no matter what Alain Perrin, The Professor, 19 Numpteen or Nick H says. SFC Forever Posted 14 February, 2009 Share Posted 14 February, 2009 I was on the march with one of my kids singing the songs and doing the chants. Apart from the result the camaraderie felt by the troops(fans) going into battle was unbelievable. It carried into the stadium and felt good. If we are going to step up our actions and believe me I want us to, what will we achieve? Removing the incumbants is what we are trying to achieve. Question is who is going to take over and save our club. Will we still be heading for administration? Will we have time and capability to prepare for next season? Sky paraphrase, after we took Saga off, - "Southampton have had much of this last 20 minutes but, as usual, you can't see where a goal is going to come from" - MAYBE WOTTE, IT WAS FROM SAGANOWSKI, YOU KNOW, THE BLOKE WHO SCORES REGULARLY FOR US? Legod Third Coming Posted 15 February, 2009 Author Share Posted 15 February, 2009 Even the club being demoted out of the league or ceasing to exist? 1. What is Lowe doing day to day other than costing real money and lost gate revenue? 2. His acts at the AGM show him to be at best arrogant and misguided, at worst clinically insane. How is this beneficial to our club? 3. Now his cost cutting plans are in place and have taken root why is he needed? 4. How is our current plight NOT ending in disaster?? Lowe has driven us to a cliff and parked the bus facing the sea. Either we let him drive it over or it rolls over. Personally, I'd like him to get out and jump off and let one of the fecking passangers have a go. 'Cos they couldn't do a worse job of running a football club. Let Crouch back. THAT is a plan. Let people unite around a man who has at least put his own money in AND is a fan - there are worse qualifications for being a chairman, you know!! We will never know what real state the club was and is in. Under Lowe it's dying anyway so it doesn't matter how quickly does it?
