Nexstar Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11557 I fail to see how a team on the brink of administration can afford to price this seasons and next seasons shirts at 50% off, buy one get one free AND get a free match ticket included?! Just seems ridiculous.

Just seems ridiculous. Nah. We ARE short of CASH. We have a stock of shirts that aren't selling this time of year. The match voucher is subject to availability - let's face it, there have been plenty of empty seats all season. Oh and BOGOF is only on away kit. So more like buy a ticket for any home game that doesn't sell out and get a free shirt. May give us enough cash to pay the ref's match fees against Charlton Desperation is the mother of invention for Marketing people
70's Mike Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 So we sell 5000 shirts give people vouchers for tickets and they all decide to use it at the Burnley Game problem is we have already sold 29000 tickets because it is a must win game to stay up. Unlikely i know but possible ?

Unlikely i know but possible ? It's that magic line "subject to availability" no doubt it will be as easy to get the game you want as it is to use airmiles to upgrade on British Airways... But that's another rant

Not quite as ridiculous as people whinging when the club try and do something that a) might bring some revenue through the shop tills and/or b) get a few more fans in the ground what a bunch of cun t s they are for doing such a thing. If they have plenty of stock and more incoming (based on previous sales) then they have to move it. Keep in mind the mark up will be very high and I imagine they will still make money. Didcot Saint Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 i think we are changing home and away shirts again next season, so that is why they are desperate to shift stock with a very high mark up.

rocknrollman no2 Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 Although i applaud every effort to get supporters into the ground,it does annoy me a little that ST holders who pay up front ,usually buy home shirts and we are usually the ones who go to all those unattractive games on a rainy Tuesday night ,always seem to lose out. I understand the reasons behind why the club wants to encourage more fans and i would also like to see SMS full, but i cant help feeling with all these offers of half price/free/bogoff offers on tickets,us ST holders are taken for granted again. Yet another reason not to get one next season.
aintforever Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 The combination of Lowe, the credit cruch and hand outs to part time fans will mean ST sales will be stupidly low next season, even if we stay up.
Scummer Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 Both shirts are changing next season, they are just trying to shift them. For the home shirt, they can either reduce them by 50% to shift stock, as they've done with the away kit, losing about £20 revenue per shirt. Or they can sell them at full price under this offer, getting an extra £20 for each one sold, and give away a seat which would otherwise be empty, costing them nothing. It's actually a very sensible deal for the club.

Scudamore Posted 27 March, 2009 Share Posted 27 March, 2009 https://ssl.saintsfc.co.uk/ Teamwear > 08 09 away shirt Teamwear > 08 10 home shirts Which kind of implies two years worth of wear...and i'm pretty sure the flybe.com sponsorship was extended a year so as to keep the kit for another season... Mind you when you click on the link it does say 08/09 Shirt so who knows

Chez Posted 28 March, 2009 Share Posted 28 March, 2009 a clever way of reducing ticket prices without needing to offer lower prices for away fans. Could someone please list all the promotions that have been run this season. I'd like to calculate exactly how much my season ticket saved me over the course of the season because when it comes down to it that is the only reason for one. I'd like to calculate exactly how much my season ticket saved me over the course of the season because when it comes down to it that is the only reason for one. Nott’s Forest Home Adults £15 Charlton Home Adults £15 Derby County Home, Season ticket holders could get extra adult tickets for £5 If you buy an adult home shirt for £40 you get a “free” ticket for a future home game this season. Cost of the remaining home games for an adult £24 x 19 = £456 Cost for the Forest and Charlton and Derby games = £35 So total for all 23 home games with all the discounts = £491. Cost of my season ticket £380.
knellster Posted 28 March, 2009 Share Posted 28 March, 2009 If you go for this offer then take note of the small print. You get a voucher that must be exchanged for a ticket in person at the ticket office before the day of the game. So if, like me, you live a long way from Southampton then it ain't much use! How about having some offers that encourage ST holders? The club is in for a big shock next season when hardly anyone gets a ST. Like i said in my previous post,im all for trying to attract more fans, but why is it always the ST holders have to lose out, when any johnny come lately can enjoy games at a much cheaper price? We have had years of misery,so surely its not too much to ask, that we pay the cheapest price?
