Wonder how Super mikeys night out clubbing in Fleet went. Bet it wasn't anything like this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INoFdgWttVU&feature=related

That is a legendary place, would love to have had the opportunity to have gone there but was a bit too young for that. Not been clubbing for ages and these days i look more like a bouncer than a clubber so probably wont again. My last experience of a proper club was two years ago in Pacha and dont know if it's age but they dont make them like they used too.

Top 5 i've been to in no particular order are

Home

Fabric

The Manor

Voodoo Lounge

Back to Basics - Leeds

In no particular order

Jollys - Southampton

Central - Stamford

Cream - Liverpool (even though it gt raided the one night we went)

Manumision - Ibiza (even though it burnt down the night we went - i didn't notice that happening anyway)

Power in the Park - The Common (not a club, but remember getting wasted and enjoying it)

I've had far better nights at smaller clubs than on big weekends away - especially London weekends.

Jollys was the best place in town at the time, had some good nights at the Rhino as well. Never done Ibiza, wish i had in the day, grown out of it now.

Ibiza was great in the early 90's. The best night was the first night after arriving and being lost wandering round San Antonios labyrinth of quaint whiste washed backstreets taking in the culture completely off my head with people shinng those lazer lights on the ground from balconys above. Happy days.

Done the Ibiza clubs in the early 90s, no idea what they were called from memory , I doubt if I knew what they were called when I was actually in them, so they must have been good.

Best club I ever went to was the Chunnel CLub in Vauxhall.

And of course, a shout out to Mirage in Windsor for old times sake.

Me neither. There was that glass pyramid looking one and the orange castle looking one. Both were overated imo. Had far better nights in the less comercialised smaller clubs.

Surely these terrible young people wrecking their brains are the reason for the decline of Britain and the end of our great

Empire?

Cant imagine talking about feelings would be the sign of a strong character.

The Complex and The End for me, although I had some equally good nights at The Opera House and the Manor. Been to Coco Bongo in Cancun - it was utter ****e.

I'm not surprised - i bet it was full of bombastic Americans.

By about 2am there were roughly 25 people left in Jaxx. Poor showing. Decent night though.

It sounds amazing, when people want a decent night out they dont do to London, Manchester or birmingham, they go to the 25 stong hardcore clubbers in Jaxx, Fleet. BTW you must live near Pantiles in Bagshot, surely that has got to be the best bet around there, i remember going there years ago when i was working up that way, you'd probably struggle to get in there though, bit of a selective door policy where 19 year old dinlows are generally barred.

Good shout. When I went there, they had drum and bass on in one room, house in the other. Outside the club, the bouncers checked my pockets and made me lift the soles of my feet in a pretty thorough drugs search.

The odd thing was, the drum and bass part of the club was a haze of big bifta smoke.

Some of the Brixton clubs ( Fridge and the 404 ) are excellent, if very strange at 5am in the morning.

I've lived in Liverpool for yonks, and there are some good clubs here. However, the London scene is just amazing - it's pretty much 24 hour clubbing at the weekends.

Completely different vibe to Southampton's slightly snarly clubs too.

Fleet is always sh!t, but it wasn't my decision to go there. A mate got us free tickets to the bar across the street from Jaxx and then Jaxx itself was offering free entry before 11.30. No brainer really, especially as i'm pretty brassic at the moment. Bagshot is quite far from where I live, but i've gone farther for a night out before. Will bear that in mind next time i'm at home and planning a night out.

You are probably best off sticking to Fleet though, from what i remember your type weren't welcome in Pantiles, it was the older more selubrious crowd rather than a 19 year old div in his best Primark clobber.

Oh yes indeedy, the Chunnel Club, by far the home of my best ever club sessions. Sunny Side Up starting Sunday morning and rolling on into late evening, only for the hardcore, **** me they were good days.

Mind Over Matter Camden Palace was always good.

Remix in Bournemouth.

Remember some good rave ups at Poole Arts Centre early 90s, anyone remember what they were called?

Big Love/Universe/Tribal Gathering/Fantazia messy messy weekenders

Sunny Side up was by far the most consistent and best clubbing experience I ever had. In fact sometimes we used to not bother going anywhere on a Saturday night and just get mashed up at home before heading for the day to Sunny Side. Mondays were very messy though.

My favourite Saturday night was probably Strawberry Sundae under the arches in Vauxhall which was just down the road from the Chunnel Club. This place had the best door staff and unless you were selling copious amounts of narcotics then you were left to get on with whatever you wanted!

Fridays were the Gallery night at Turnmills.

The Ministry was good on very select occasions. As were the occasional night at The End or Camden Palace.

Last good club night I had in London was Fabric (quite a few years back now) and if I was still into it I would probably go there.

My best exprience abroad was probably Basement Jaxx DJ'ing The Escape in Amsterdam, total carnage!

Well I did have probably 20 pints there so that could be why I thought it was ok. Full of Americans it was; but the girls do like even a slurring English accent.

I've been living in East London now for nearly a year and I haven't managed a good club night out yet which is , frankly ridiculous. I seem to go to either soulless bars in the city or have a curry on Brick Lane.

I'd like to know if there is still a place for an ageing raver who enjoys cheap drink and loose women?

Many thanks.

would of been if i could have put more than 5, as would the Warehouse, the Que Club & Labyrinth.

went to some good Tazzmania's( Mr Hyde was a fav), the 1st at some sports center in Totton? also liked Adrenalin at the Uni & Guidhall.

Mr Hyde and MC Knight...shirleys very own..

loved all that...remember the rythem station but went to so many at hastings pier...southampton to used to go en masse to these gigs..

I wish I still had my old tape packs (or a way of downloaded them now)....the south really ran that scene back then..

good stuff dune..

I was well into Rave/Hardcore in the early 90s..used to go to gigs underage at the rythem station in the early 90s...went to raves at bracknell, hownslow (some crappy tennis dome) the mansion house, sanctuary, shepton mallet and hasting pier..absolutely loved it..but got tired of the cheeseyness of the sound..

moved onto dance music and went to Ibiza in 1998...was an experience but it was the summer after Ibiza uncovered was on telly so it was rammed packed and way over priced..

no way has music got such audiences these days as rave/dance music had during the 90s

when you say early 90's Jamie are you sure? You'd have been about 9 years old.

On another note used to have some good nights down at the BIC, went to a couple in the late 90's, also had a good crack at Homelands around the same time.

Forgot all about these clubs/nights, top times. A mixture of age and disco medicine have ravaged the grey matter somewhat.

Back in the mid 80's the BEST club in England was the Tuxedo Princess under the Tyne Bridge in Geordie land. Used to get up there about 4 times year. was an awesome place (a converted North Sea Ferry)

They also had an onshore club called Tuxedo junction which was good fun as well.

before that back in the day, then the whole Glenfern Road experience in Bournemouth - 3 clubs in a row, jeez what were their names.

Since those days, thought I'd become way too old for clubbing until I came here and can truly say we still have one of the best clubs around Chi at The Lodge, I haven't been for a year or so (it became damned expensive) but my lad still goes and loves it.

We also had The Peppermint Lounge which was awesome for a few years. Went on a cracking & completely random bender there with Gordon Ramsey, saw Pete Tong & Amren Van Buren there and got stabbed in the leg (by accident) one evening when some fat cow fell on me and I demolished a table full of Champagne glasses. Took me 2 or 3 minutes to work out that the squishy feeling in my shoe was blood (LOTS of it) from the hole in my leg caused by the stem of a Champers glass sticking out and not booze. Still pulled that night as well, not bad for an old fart.

All of those were a far cry from the delights of "Bentley's/Raffles" and "The Grange" in Salisbury back and whenever - arrggghh

On the subject of Salisbury was at The Chapel a few weeks ago, not changed much either although the music had improved with The Zucchini's playing

Revelation @ Verbeer Manor Collompton

This for me, was the best club-night for consistency, week in, week out in the early 90’s. It didn’t get a massive name for itself outside of the southwest, which was great as it was the same people that went to each night so the atmosphere was great, very friendly and you got to recognise the same faces.

The warehouse @ Union Street Plymouth

Also fantastic for events such as Obsession, Dance Planet & Revelation which also moved there as well.

Slinky @ the Opera House was always a good night in the late 90’s, in fact that was the reason I moved to Bournemouth, I was travelling up every Friday so decided to move here.

Universe - The Final Frontier @ Club UK, London – Great venu, real underground feel to it.
