very cheerful aren't you? I'd tell you what I think of it, only I've not 'attempted' a book, so am not worth listening to.

Difficult to say West Ham's has been "ok", it has been an embarrassment. They've publicised about a hundred players they wanted, and virtually none of them joined. they ended up with a very poor bunch of 5th choices, they just can't attract the kind of player they wanted. I'd say west ham had the worst window of all, simply because of the chasm between what they went after, and what they ended up with. Only everton can compete with them on that score. Leicester had a very good window, and Stoke is interesting. Saints were solid I'd say, with one gamble which could make the window an amazing one, or just a solid one if it doesn't work out. The best signings are the contract extensions, getting VVD to sign for longer is epic.

That thread ended well (read the last page!)

Did we break our record yesterday, signing a potential superstar? only, I'm pretty sure we did. Try googling Boufal and seeing the calibre of club chasing him. Consider that Chelsea came in last week and tried to nab him, but that he chose us. If we had delayed the announcement until 22:59 today, would everyone be excited right now? Personally, I think the top 3 signings we have made, Redmond, Hojberg, Boufal - are absolute high grade quality. Once Long and Austin hit form, we'll be golden. Just be thankful we haven't spent >60m on Bolasie and Sissoko, now that is some crazy **** right there... (If koeman left because we didn't want to spend 30m on sissoko, I think we made a lucky escape)

depends what 'matters' to you I suppose. It took me an extra 3 seconds to read that sentence. that's 3 seconds I'll never get back, and that equates to 0.00000012% of my likely lifetime. too many sentences like those and I will have wasted my life.

holy **** that first one looks awesome.

not a stupid question then, since everyone is asking it!

stupid question maybe - but why not Israel?!

We are overpopulated. I don't think we should save any of them. -

did he have to dedicate goals to him too? Fact is, Henry respects Claude Puel, he's not just being polite. https://books.google.de/books?id=WO0rrhB8QWUC&pg=PT196&lpg=PT196&dq=thierry+henry+dedicates+goal++to+puel+dublin&source=bl&ots=FlL4nFKTZ0&sig=dzkPypXbg2IFnaRzJPniWpPH0R4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj0hri31MjOAhUGWxoKHQ_JBHwQ6AEIHjAA#v=onepage&q=thierry%20henry%20dedicates%20goal%20%20to%20puel%20dublin&f=false

hmmm. that sounds like a comment from an 'expert' to me. we don't believe in them anymore. what you are supposed to do is perpetuate a myth, repeat ad nauseum, and then it can be used to back up your argument however you like.

Genuine question - to those who are angry/upset/annoyed at Saints at the minute, who think we are making terrible mistakes and continually letting them down, and have no ambition etc.etc. Have you considered supporting a different team? Man City for example, or Man Utd? They show ambition and back it up with marquee signings every year. You might be a lot happier with one of those teams. I'm not having a go, just a genuine suggestion - it seems like Saints might not be the best club for you to support?

not been on here, been watching the game. still surprised at how negative everyone is. Forster has had nothing to do, Tadic, JWP, Redmond, VVD, Yoshi all looking good. Long trying but not getting the rub of the green. Targett looks decent. Tadic and Redmond look fantastic at times, I think the football will be really exciting this year. this game is for the taking. only negative for me has been Cedric and his passing, but he's got 15mins to regroup and improve second half.

A majority can be wrong, no reason why a majority should be exempt from insult. A majority of Americans believe the universe was created by a white bearded old man who watches our every move from another dimension and judges us when we die. the majority of 5 year olds in the uk think Santa is real. The majority of british voters thought they would get more control of the UKs position in europe if they voted out. All of these are examples of bizarre viewpoints that are somewhat distanced from reality...

I don't get it.

"in the name of" isn't quite the same though. The KKK act in the name of god, doesn't mean all Christians are racist. (although many may be) -

well, er...yes of course - what is the connection between being butchered in the street and islam??? You could equally say "I reckon some of the people on here supporting saints would be doing the same even if Taylor Swift won an Oscar". -

corrected it for you. (and anyone who disputes my version is probably just some 'expert', and no-one cares what 'experts' think) -
In this political age, you don't have to be sensible, logical or honest anymore, you can just lie your face off, and if anyone challenges you, just scoff at them and point out that noone gives a **** about the experts anymore. This worked for Brexit, and its working for Trump - you don't even need to pretend anymore. call your opponent the devil, promise large sums of money, promise unicorns if you like, and it doesn't matter, as long as you can hit a chord with something, for example how evil all muslims are (trump), or how the EU is stealing money from our NHS (farage and co).

to be fair, he does have no chance of playing for holland, no chance at all... Ditto Cedric - he has zero chance, I say ZERO chance of ever getting picked for Spain. and Schlong has no chance of being picked for Northern Ireland. and so on.
