  1. the Redmond change made the difference, we looked like scoring after he came on, Pue should get the credit for yet another cup win.
  2. claridge incapable of understanding the romeu sub, what a prat.
  3. it's because it's not streamed, and so people see others relying on this thread for updates, and so it becomes hilariously funny. I think it should be an instant ban, since it shows epic stupidity. skate claridge sounds happier now.

    JWP

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-city-plotting-20million-move-5460335 Man utd, Liverpool, Man City, Spurs, all keep tabs on him. as soon as he hits prime age (4-5 yrs?), he'll end up at a big club.

    JWP

Quality quality player. has played a lot of games for his age, and is an important player for England. He's bulking up and not afraid to tackle, incisive passer. Works hard, intelligent, model pro. Successive managers continue to select him, suggests he is good. suffers magilton/Oakley syndrome, whereby a lot of the good work he does goes unnoticed.
  6. agreed
  7. That be legitimate spell, paadie, Heng up...
  8. only the top 6 have more shots per game than Saints. We give the appearance of non-attacking because our build up is slow. If we had the exact same chances, but let the other team attack us more, everyone would think we were fine, it's just because we pass it across the pitch that people find it boring. Spurs 18.2 Liverpool 17.6 Manu 17.1 Man City 16.4 Arsenal 15.3 Chelsea 15.3 Saints 14.6 West ham 14.0 Everton 13.1 Palace 12.2 Bournemouth 11.8 Swansea 11.6 Stoke 11.5 Leicester 11.1 Watford 10.7 Hull 10.5 WBA 10.2 Sunderland 9.9 Burnley 9.5 Boro 9.1
  9. what's he on about with the bowl of cream? he only mentioned it once like it was common knowledge. was there a creamgate incident at the Inter match?
  10. I think JWP might be our next manager, he has an intelligent football brain and I think he could do a job. I'm assuming puel will be here for the next decade or two.
  11. chaotic first half, neither team able to control the game, lots of pinball. shouts to boufal Redmond and JWP who are all excellent and a quality above the rest of our players today. I think we were unlucky to concede, ricocheted cross. puel will calm us down for the second half, we can win this!

    Forster/Fonte?

no fun, no conspiracy, an not sure it is 'les reed's video PR team' either, it's one of those superstition things- fraser did it once, we won, now he does it every game.
  13. holding your pillow tight?
  14. Just in the last week, - Boro, Redmond coming on changed the game.
  15. Only Man City, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool have had more shots on goal this season than Saints. (The same teams, plus Man Utd and Arsenal, are the only teams with higher possession stats than Saints, i.e. possession = chances)
  16. Boufal could be the most fun player we have had since Le Tiss, so I think your mate needs to improve his parenting skills, as his kid is obviously a spoilt little **** who should be supporting Man City. re; Puel, when it clicks, it's some of the best football we've seen at St Marys, so I think he deserves time. He is Arsene Wenger MkII, basically, so will always be liked by those who understand good football and sustainability, and disliked by those who want a quick buck and wish we would spend big on the likes of Enner Valencia or Bolasie.
  17. JWP assist...
  18. It's a bible thing. (Job is a fictional character who was very patient)
  19. We've played some of the best football we ever have under puel, he is experienced and a great coach. It's not the system, it's not player quality, I think it is just a lack of confidence. It is only 2 or 3 games ago we were expecting us to thrash someone sooner or later. I think once we get a goal or two we will get back to winning ways. I think puel is the best manager we could have for bringing through the youth, we shouldn't let him go.
  20. was reading this; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38240386 and think this could really suit us - Van Dijk being our star player right now, I think he could do it better than anyone. So let's add another defender and do this; Forster Yoshi VVD Fonte Cedric Romeu JWP Bertrand Tadic Boufal Austin The extra CB would free cedric and Bertrand to give us real width attacking, we could have both tadic and boufal to provide a central threat, and a striker to poke chances in from crosses or trickery. JWP and Romeu to marshall the midfield and VVD free to make as many bursting runs as he likes... IF teams try to press our full backs to hold us back, VVD can rampage. if they come inside to get VVD, cedric and Bertrand can pile crosses in.
  21. Really? I mean, really? two posters would rather have a blind 3-legged dog at RB? Chances are, it will just sit around playing the opposition onside, so we'd be ****ed going forward.
  22. I think he was imploring his fellow team mates to keep concentration levels up.
  23. I thought the idea of 4-3-3 through the ages up to the academy was that it is a good formation for teaching players how to play. It has full backs who have to defend and attack, it has ballers and brutes in the central 3, strikers to hold up and muscle, and wingers who can either be out and out, or chasing throughballs. you don't get the same all round skillset from any other formation (e.g 442 is restricted to outside wingers, 5-3-2 is reliant on full backs etc.etc.) I don't think the idea was ever that the first team has to play 4-3-3. The idea is we can assess and judge players in the 4-3-3, and teach them how to play in the different positions, so that they can adapt to any formation the manager chooses, and the manager can choose a certain kind of player to play in whatever position he wants. Unfortunately for Long, he doesn't fit so well into the Puel system, a player more like Van Persie would be perfect for it. Austin is good for it. I do think we could use a ball playing striker up front with a nose for goal to play with Charlie.
  24. I always thought lallana was gay? Not judging, just always assumed, gaydar malfunctioning?
