Lowered taxes, whilst at the same time, collecting considerably more in taxes than in recent times? That’s pretty neat. Pulling back from some of those one sided deals eg Iran? Advancing the Korean situation more than anyone could have hoped for? Enabled masses of new jobs? Brought industry back to the forefront? Recognised Jerusalem as the capital- something Obama reneged on? Withdrew from the Paris agreement, analogous to bush/Kyoto? raised 12bn usd extra from nato allies with his tough stance, something Obama tried but failed to do, tough stance on Russia, reshaped Supreme Court? decimated Isis? Hard lines with Honduras? And Their economy is in great shape! Against the bad things; insulting a whole range of people from all backgrounds, treating women as sex objects, calling people names, all of which have happened to him too from the dem side... none of his policies have been particularly bad, st least not that anyone can give an example of, the only exception being the enforcement of Obama’s immigration laws at the Mexican border, which would never have happened if they had the wall...

By international disaster, I think you mean a globalists nightmare. There’s a difference. Trump is championing diversity and individual strength, and a competitive market. He appeals to the centre and right, whilst unfortunately the Democratic Party is swerving so far left that I think the average centrist voter is being driven away. I’m very curious as to who will come after trump though, he has had such a big impact, it’s going to be a game changing moment in 2024 regardless...

Enforcing a law that the democrats pushed for, and coming up against resistance to changing it. Know your enemy...

No one has been able to point to anything bad he has done beyond rhetoric then, it’s hardly the global disaster you would expect from the descriptions on here. He’s doing fine, upholds traditional values, and he is being pretty successful. I think if Hilary were in charge we’d be much worse off.

What’s trump done that’s so bad? Apart from the rhetoric I mean, what has he actually done that is bad? Seems to me he is doing pretty well?

Listened to the Everton audio, they were very complimentary, said we looked far more dangerous than Everton, comfortable on the ball and deserving of the win. Targett our best player. What did the saints commentators make of it?
-
No need to be so grizzly about it. I can’t bear this forum anymore...

perfect chance to try a 4-2-3-1 with Romeu and Hojberg bossing the two CM spots; Mccarthy Cedric - Yoshi - Stephens - Bertrand Romeu-Hojberg JWP-Armstrong-Redmond Gabbi

Should be a straightforward win. Ings to score a couple.
-
If we score two, Hughes should be given the key to the city and a job for life.
-
Should be a good week for this forum, since there will be no moaning when we lose by a hatful. Looking forward to a match thread with no complaints as we shuffle to defeat...

Level so far, with Liverpool on fire and saints struggling for form, so all to play for!
-
Great half, everything but the goal we deserve. Elyounoussi is a class act, hojberg passing superb, hoedt and vest look solid. Just unlucky not to score. Hopefully we don’t live to regret it in the second half. So much better than this time last year.

He did. People just scapegoating. If he had been the one missing Maguires shot, and not vestergaard, he would have been crucified.

Put our CBs in the order you think they belong.

This. Straightforward. -
Stoke finished 9th, 9th, 9th, 13th under him, I’d take that for now. Stoke would have stayed up if they had kept him.

about 40% of them were not fouls imo. Everton had a clear strategy to win on set pieces, and everytime they got near the final third they would go to ground. Richarlison, clearly has some talent, but spent a lot of time rolling on the floor, clearly he cannot handle pain very well. Everytime he goes down, their forum shat themselves because he looked like he might be dying, only for him to be up and running 30 seconds later!

Hoedt reminds me of lundekvam in his early days. He’ll come good, with Thor as partner. Ings is the best forward we’ve had in a while, a real handful. Can’t judge anything on Everton away, it’s always horrendous up there.

Guess we can only use it for 26 games then...
-
We were 12th earlier.

No, our relegation was sealed in preseason when we lost 3-0 to the Germans, keep up...

Saints vs Borussia Mönchengladbach - Match Thread
ashnats replied to wessex saint's topic in The Saints
I can. Last season was awful until near the end. We will play better this season. But, we will not be as lucky, reckon 18th finish. A long way to go, hope we all have the stomach for it... -
Because the prosecution didn’t specify any charge, so it is not clear what he was pleading guilty to. If the prosecution want to bring charges, they need to specify what he did, and the he can prepare a defence. That anyone can be locked up within 5 hours without a clear reason is pretty shocking.

From that list, our average goals per game (just from the listed names); 2015/16 = 0.356 2016/17 = 0.450 2017/18 = 0.322 (not including Obafemi) which would suggest Mane/Pelle were not any better than Austin/Gabbi in 2016/2017, it's just they had a long run of games. Mope probably responsible for last years mess. Austin's rate has only got better, so the problem seems to be more that our strikers are not getting games. If Austin or Gabbi could play 30 games in a season, they will score a dozen goals each. Austin has a perception of being fragile, but Gabbi would be like a new signing if the manager just picks him and plays to his strengths...
