  1. Thank you for injecting a little bit of sense into the debate.
  2. I'd take Mawson. Seems like a good lad too.
  3. Proper football town - good for them.
  4. Sparky and Co will be right into them once the celebrations are done. They deserve it tonight, but they'll be ready for Sunday. Get the fook in.
  5. The right team and three CFs on the bench if we need to go kitchen sink. COYR!
  6. Thank you COYR
  7. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Stoke tonk Swansea next weekend - no pressure, won't want to finish bottom, show some pride. Its amazing how after the second bottle of wine the confidence comes flooding back. COYR
  8. I agree with this. I think our mentality will be better going for a win. We know we're better than them - I'm pretty sure Sparky will convince the players of that.
  9. Nonsense from where I was sitting. He shouldn’t have been subbed imo
  10. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/04/20/claus-lundekvam-road-recovery-tried-kill-twice-cocaine-alcohol/ Respect to Claus for having the courage to talk publicly about this, and all best wishes to him. You need a Telegraph login to read it online, but it's a harrowing tale.
  11. I remember thinking before the Newcastle game... chin up lads, three wins from seven should do it. We're now down to three wins from four. Sobering. What are the odds on us needing to beat Man City on the final day to stay up? Maybe they could bring on Keane and Van Nistelrooy just to take the p1ss.
  12. At least we haven't got the distraction of an fa cup semi fi.... oh.
  13. We probably need ten points from the four games that aren't against City. Not too much to ask.
  14. I think we might need to win at Leicester now. No pressure.
  15. If we play like that against Bompey, Leicester, Everton and Swansea we might get enough points to stay up. Might. Only might. But anyone saying it’s already over is talking bollokks
  16. 205-7 is the real heartbreaker and where the wheels started to come off.
  17. Relegation six pointer. New manager effect. Playing at a club in crisis. Leading scorer back from injury. Only one way that's going to go.
  18. In the face of some seriously stiff competition, this is the worst half of football I’ve seen us play this season. Embarrassing.
  19. So 8 top ten premier league finishes in 11 full seasons. But some people think he's not good enough for Saints? Welcome back, Sparky. COYR
  20. Spot on talking about Hughes. Just how I remember it too: "I don’t have the negative view of it that many others seem to. He wasn’t much good as a striker for us but when he dropped into midfield and partnered Chris Marsden in the Great Escape games, Dellhurst Park and all that, he was absolutely superb and played as if his life depended on it. He was 36 years old at the time and had had a long career playing for some of the biggest clubs in the world and had won everything so it says a lot about his personal pride that he played like that when it would’ve been easy not lift a leg and be like Jamie Redknapp was a few years later in similar circumstances."
  21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43385139 Good to see 'Dr Barry Gale, Southampton' is the first name on the comment section
  22. At least he knows how to shoot. Whoever gets appointed, we all have to get behind him and the team straight away. Regroup in the summer when we know what's up (or down...).
  23. Jermaine Jenas has turned into a good pundit. ‘Abysmal, shocking, borderline disgraceful’ was his verdict on Saints today...
  24. Get Roy Keane in for the last eight games. “Right, you sniveling bastards, I was bastard here last time you went down and there’s no bastard way i’m planning on seeing that again. So get out on the pitch you useless bastards and score some bastard goals. Anyone who doesn’t play better gets nutted on the bastard chin at half time. Bastards.” Might work.
  25. He comes across as a top bloke in both those interviews, to be fair. Honest, and no BS. He’s probably my favourite player at the moment. Which means he’ll almost certainly be sold in the summer.
