https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/17587807.southampton-manager-ralph-hasenhuttl-after-his-sides-3-1-defeat-to-newcastle/ Ralph’s comments spot on to be fair. Busy in the summer.

From about 500 feet above the pitch in the away section the first half was pretty grim. Two poor goals to concede, and we just didn’t look much up for it. Was the ball out of play on half way before they scored their second - haven’t seen the replays but it should never have got to Perez anyway. Ball was defo out before Gunn made his wonder save and after we scored I thought we’d get back to 2-2. Much better performance second half and good to see Mario back. JWP did his best but isn’t a wing back, we need to sign another CB in the summer, and Danny Ings needs a goal. Long journey home. Roll on Watford.

Hi all Anyone have a spare ticket for West Ham? I’ve been away and forgot to buy. Done every other away game this season so can’t miss it and would prefer to avoid home end! Cheers Laptop

Are Saints owned by the Chinese government?

If Huawei are our shirt sponsors next year, we’ll know. Either way, I suspect the boys won’t be wearing Dalai Lama training tops. -
Loving the replacement bus service from London. 2-0 (Ings, Vestergaard) COYR

Right up with the two goals as the best moment in the whole match. Owned Pogba, and you could’ve heard a pin drop in most parts of Old Trafford.

Good atmosphere in the away end. United fans silent until they scored. Ground full of tourists, you’re just a ground full of tourists. Two cracking goals, ref and one of the linos both absolutely shocking. Gutted to lose but proud of the performance. The poster who said Redmond shouldn’t be playing needs glasses. Great moment when Valery put on the afterburners and cruised past Pogba like he wasn’t there. Against some stiff competition Valery my MOTM - what a hit son!
-
Good results - but Cardiff have just shipped 8 goals in 2 home games but still did the double over us. Feck!
-
Agreed. About the only positive I can think of. Atmosphere at the Emirates as flat as a pancake. We could have played another 90 and still not scored. 4-2-2-2 against Fulham please. Goalie Valery-Jan-Jannick-Bertie Oriel-PEH JWP-Armstrong Reds-Charlie Ings and Lemina in for Charlie and JWP if either of them are ever fit.

Danny Murphy and Ian Wright seemed to think we were unlucky and played well.... I'll just leave this here. -

I’m usually a cautious optimist. But that’s woeful. To lose twice to that Cardiff team is an embarrassment. -

Exactly this. On a cold day away at Turf Moor, against a big hoofing Burnley, he did really well for his full debut. Made the wrong decision occasionally (what a surprise) and ran out of gas towards the end, but you could see that he has a good touch on him. One lovely ball floated across on the angle for Valery who controlled it stone dead - the academy in action. I enjoyed it from behind the goal anyway. -
I'm with this. If there's a banker to start Austin this season it's got to be Cardiff at home. So don't bet against Ralph starting with Marcus Barnes. Trust the manager - he seems to know what he's doing. Would certainly be good to see Bertie back for the last twenty mins too...

I Also just got back and agree with almost all of this. Jack had a good game, and most of the criticism on here is bullsh1t. Couldn’t really tell from the other end if he was fouled, but the ref was determined to give them one last chance, and when Shane Long ended up on his arse off the pitch I just had a bad feeling. Like most people though I’d have taken a point at 1455. Good day out. O

If he goes, we'll miss Charlie for the bantz... flicking the Vs at the City fans, going all Danny Dyer at the ref after the Watford game, and he's a character - Ralph clearly likes his attitude. But he's obviously not the future, and although he maybe the most natural goal poacher we have he'll always miss a few games, and he doesn't fit Ralph's style or fitness regime. So if he goes I wish him well, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him score for someone else at St Mary's one day.

Leicester 1 Saints 2 - Post Match Celebrations

Good day out. As others have said: Romeu - majestic Vestergaard - now looking like a £20 million centre back Bednarek - has that crucial ability to anticipate danger and make goal saving interventions... tackle on Aubameyang v Arsenal and the brilliant clearance today right in line with us Other than that most of the game was at the far end of the pitch, us in the first half and them in the second. But who cares - biggest win of the season so far IMO with Bertie, Yoshi, PEH, Lemina, Ings, Austin and Obafemi all missing. Played lads. -

That turn and shot at Wembley. Scenes. At least we don’t have to sing about Les Reed any more. -

Fair summary, and laugh out loud at most of the miserable b@stards on here. Ended the game with Johnson, Barnes and Slattery on the pitch and Valery and Ramsay on the bench after their recent debuts. No way any of them would have been near the team under Hughes or Pellegrino.

I've got a shed, that's bigger than this... I've got a shed that's bigger than this It's got a door and a window... Couldn't make it up.

I watched him closely against Man City and Chelsea - so he was up against Sterling then Sane, followed by Hazard and Alonso in the second game. The thing that impressed me most was that he didn't seem over-awed in the slightest, and wasn't afraid to stick his foot in when he needed to. When he came on against City the man inside him was 18 year old Kayne Ramsay. Valery still needs to be more decisive going forward, but we saw a couple of flashes of that at the Bridge. Lot to learn but a great prospect. Keep 'em coming Ralph...

This. Still had a decent day out, and it was good to see another young academy product with pace on the field. Confident we'll survive this season and already looking forward to a Hasenhuttl team next August after a full pre-season.

Wingbacks. I have to say Matt Targett frustrates the hell out of me. Valery was pretty exposed tonight against both Anderson and Cresswell, but he's learning. That cross at the end slightly summed up his night though. Need Bertie and Cedric back if they're both on the bus. Mario I love but I don't know what was with him tonight - maybe he hasn't quite understood the new system yet, and he kept giving it away. Will be good to see PEH back. Redmond still needs support because he scares defenders but he had one of those days when nothing quite come off apart from punching the ball into the net for our goal. The penalty denied followed by breakaway and clinical finish was tough to take but West Ham were the better side and deserved to win. Lots for Ralph to think about and get done - but I'm confident the second half of the season will be much better than the first. COYR -
Love the Pahars one. That was some day. Also Beattie’s cupped ear and, of course, Bobby’s toothy cup-winning grin...
