He's our Cedric... !

Great Western was excellent. Friendly locals, good banter, great beer. Trick was to buy more than one beer each when you got to the front of the queue!
-
Only good news was that the sun was shining. Wolves were there for the taking, but we were just insipid. Armstrong had a game to forget, didn’t he?
-
Got my tickets for Liverpool and Wolves, but Bournemouth has sold out before I got the chance to buy. Anyone who has one, but finds they can't make it... please do get in touch. Cheers...

Three winnable home games. Two points. Sigh.
-
Leicester every time. Could die happy.
-
So the other 19 clubs agreed at the start of the season that they’d let Leicester win? And they persuaded all 25 players in every squad to play along? And all the refs? And all the linesmen? Riiiiiight... #xfiles

Is this a Saints forum or a manic depressives forum? Get a grip.

V early days but it wouldn’t surprise me if the current bottom 6 are the final bottom six. So it was important to get the Palace win after dropping points at home to Burnley. Can’t see us finishing below any of West Ham, Cardiff, Hudders, Barcodes, Burnley and Palace.

Great atmosphere. Proper celebration when PEH slid in the second. Hoedt better than the boo boys give him credit for. Benteke may not be able to hit a barn door, but he’s a handful in the air. Midfield starting to look really good. Love the way Ings chases everything down. Love the ‘Austin runs like he’s carrying a piano’ line COYR

Agree with all of this. Enough of the wrist-slitting. From where we were it looked like an early entry for miss of the season from Ings in the first half, but just seen it on the telly and fair play a brilliant save from Pickford. Mason gave us eff all though. Not even a corner right at the end and nothing when Pickford took Danny’s shirt off.
-
New guys all looked good. Firegaard and Ings in particular. And I think Mo Ely is going to get better and better. The amount of space we gave them to begin with was laughable though. I don’t think Burnley could quite believe their luck... has to be 442 at home. Ended well, but ran out of time. Penalty at the end for Ings? I thought so. But then i’m massively biased...

Or I love this. But it's a challenge... COYR

It's either this We've got Danny Ings, tra-la-la-la-la We've got Danny Ings, tra-la-la-la-la-la We've got Danny Ings, tra-la-la-la-la He looks like he's scoring goals for fun - fun fun.

Some of the plums on here. Take a look at yourself. Welcome on board Danny. COYR

Tenuous, random and based on nothing. But actually spot on. What we need before the window closes is a rampaging, bums-off-seats CF. Hard to find, but we struck gold with Rickie and Graziano. Hopefully we can do it again.

How often do away tickets sell out before they're available to official members? Thanks for any general info...
-
Oh well - my giants theory didn’t last long. Sorry Crouchie - back to Stoke reserves...
-
Mina and Vestergaard? Sparky’s cunning plan revealed - replace a team of midgets with a team of giants. Get Crouchie in and it’s job done.

Totally agree. But he wasn't great at Pride Park yesterday. Someone asked about Mason Mount - he certainly looked like he had loads of time on the ball (but that may be because he was playing Saints in early pre-season). Was really impressed with Lawrence too, and with Derby in general. They'll have a decent shout in the Championship.
-
1) It was only an early pre-season friendly, but Derby just looked more up for it than we did. 2) Apart from his obvious glaring error for the first goal, I thought Vestergaard looked pretty good at the back and up front. He was talking a lot too, which i like. 3) Redmond and Mo looked good in the first half - something to build on. Charlie ran around a lot. 4) Lemina was either unfit or simply couldn't be arsed. Has the potential to offer so much more. Midfield was a bit of a mystery the whole game. 5) Jack Stephens has (ahem) had better days. 6) I quite liked the brief look at Sam Gallagher when he came on - he's got something about him.

Right back cover for Cedric - Valery or A.N. Other?

Valery, Stephens, Reed, JWP... more than enough. -
Yup.

Sounds like he’s got his head screwed on right in his interview on the official site, although the experts on here will scoff at his suggestion that training with Dave Watson is a big draw. What does he know - he’s only a kid. COYR

It's probably what they said after Harry Kane spent five months on loan at Norwich a few years back and didn't score...
