  1. Voted for Morgan in the MOM poll, but could easily have gone for Clyne, Gardos, Tadic or even Mane for looking so damn quick on his debut. Happy days.
  2. Brilliant. F%cking brilliant. We have real strength in depth at the back now - Forster is a brick sh!t house, Targett was great, Gardos was cooler than a cool mush from cooltown, and Nat Clyne is so much better than Johnson, Stones, Chambers and whoever else Woy's got his paws on that it's not even funny. Tadic brilliant, Mane looks really tasy, Pelle didn't have his best game but causes bother and is always having a go, Morgan + big Vic taking the Ar$e midfield... Ladies, gentlemen, and forum trolls - we have ourselves a team! COYFR!!!
  3. What a great 45 mins. Mane will scare a lot of defenders this season, Morgan looks well up for it, Tadic has been class and Clyne's screamer - words fail.
  4. Is there no recall clause for Artur in the event of a serious injury to FF - does anyone know? If there is one, then having him play every week in the Championship is probably better for us than having him sit disillusioned on the bench...
  5. Who can forget Spuds away a couple of days before Hoddle got the sack, with Beatts scoring a screamer in the first minute to give Glenda a helping hand out of the door? Good day out. (Mind you who can forget Spuds away last season? My little boy was pretty happy when we went two up, then Lovren decided it was time to audition for the Liverpool defence.) I'd be happy with a point at the Lane this year.
  6. It's not really bitterness, it's more detached amusement. A great weekend for Defectors Watch fans. Feel a bit sorry for Rickie but I guess he knew he'd only be bit part...
  7. After losing Shaw, Lovren and Chambers (+ now Boruc) from last season's defence, conceding only three goals in five PL games is an effing fine effort. Even really good signings need time to gel - all credit to Ron and the lads.
  8. Big Vc superb when he came on, even without the goal. Just what we needed. Play not so great away from home and get three points - can't argue with that.
  9. Yeah money talks. I think the plan has always been keep him for another season and hope that JWP and Harry Red (see what I did there) are ready to step up come next summer. But let's enjoy Morgan while he's here. Been my favourite player since we were in League one.
  10. It was Bob Houghton - good bloke too. Very critical of the way Chelski were trying to enter the shirts market without giving much to the grass roots as I recall And Baichung was the player I was thinking of - never made it at Bury but a bloody legend at East Bengal. Scoring a hat-trick in a derby does that to you. Basically footie is massive in Bengal and in Goa - elsewhere it's a bit of a slow burn but you can watch every Premiership game live on the telly. Will be interested to see if the new league can make any headway against the IPL which is mentally massive.
  11. The funniest football match I've ever seen live was India vs Myanmar in the Asia Cup preliminaries played in monsoon rains in Bangalore. At one stage the ball actually disappeared under water but the game went on. India had an English manager whose name I forget and one star player who got a contract with Bury but spent most of his time in Lancashire on the bench. Huige untapped market, long long way to go. The Calcutta derby's a tasty affair though, and gets an 80,000 crowd...
  12. Yeah the Okey Cokey works. But maybe the last line should be 'Do you mind if we call you Smith?'
  13. If it's true that Spurs wanted Morgan, JRod, Clyne and Mane - and ended up with none of them - well that's a result in itself isn't it? Not normally one to hold grudges, but I would allow myself a wee smile if Pochettino were to fall on his ar*e.
  14. Sadio Mane Sadio Ma-ah-ah-nay He comes from Senegal He runs fast with the ball Sadio Mane Sadio Ma-ah-ah-nay Repeat ad infinitum
  15. When I first saw the Gaston report I thought "Oh no, not Gaston he's so... he's so..." and that was as far as I got. We all know he's got incredible talent, but if he can only show it for about ten minutes every six games before dislocating an eyebrow or something then that doesn't cut it. I'd love love love him to succeed at Saints, because when he does do one of his ten minute cameos he's as good as we've got. But if RonKo reckons he'll benefit from a season out on loan (with no option to buy) and he's a huge success at Hull then we can take him back as a new player. COYR
  16. Best moment of the game was hearing the Saints fans who were actually there singing Pelle's name BEFORE he scored. Supporting the team, unlike some of the kn0bjockeys on here. Good effort lads.
  17. Surely means Morgan leaving sooner rather than later. Centre mid we now have Morgan, Big Vic, Corkie, JWP, Davis (sort of), Reed who has looked good every time i've seen him, plus Taider... something's got to give.
  18. Yeah 20 mill in for the Cretin Croat and 7 mil out for De Vrij would have been qualty business. Vlaar and Rojo will do fine though. But believe it when i see it.
  19. Yep, it's certainly something. It's the most insincere b*ll**** I've seen all day.
  20. Frankly he can f*ck off. Didn't want him here after his petulant self-indulgent *rsebiscuit outburst, and I hope he fails miserably. Would be nice to see one or two coming in though.
  21. He's going to be an England player (IMHO). Then maybe a Liverpool one.
  22. Celtic must hate us almost as much as we hate Liverhampton.
  23. Yep, anyone who just writes off the bags of talent he clearly has is a mentalist, or lives in a west European mountain range (or both). No-one else in our squad would have even seen the first time ball that put in Banana to score against West Brom last season, and no-one else could have run the game like he did against Villa. But this is probably his make or break season with us. Give him a proper run of games in the middle, and it could feel like we have another new marquee signing on our hands. If it still hasn't worked by mid-season, maybe that's when we have to accept that Spain or Italy just suits him more and he'll never quite adjust to the Prem.
  24. According to the Independent we got £325 million for Lallana. That is some add-ons. I'd say we mugged them. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/adam-lallana-joins-liverpool-england-midfielder-believes-world-cup-failure-will-make-him-stronger-as-he-looks-ahead-to-new-chapter-with-liverpool-9577910.html Adam Lallana joins Liverpool: England midfielder believes World Cup failure will make him stronger as he looks ahead to new chapter with Liverpool Lallana completed a 325m move to the Reds and hopes to take lessons he and his England team-mates learnt from Brazil into his Liverpool career
  25. If it's just a job, then there's no need to take out embarrassing ads in the paper dripping with insincerity. You can't have it both ways.
