I don't think any one was happy to see him sign when he did. Whilst I wouldn't necesserily blame him for this, he certainly won't be the man that fixes the problem.
I agree with that logic however I don't believe anyone else in our sqaud can do any better. We could have done with someone fresh to compete with those three but as it is, there's nothing else. Putting players such as Davis, Ward-Prowse or Long there is putting players out of position.
Bench:
McCarthy
Stephens
Ward-Prowse
Davis
Long
Austin
That first eleven with that strong bench (plus plenty more options in Hoijberg, Yoshida, Targett, Pied, McQueen and Sims) is capable of pushing top 6 IMO.
The hilarious thing about the whole clappers thing is that it's basically the club acknowledging that our fans can't create a good atmosphere and are giving us a helping hand. Personally, I don't think it improves the atmosphere anyway.
Clearly needs a few games to get up to speed and form that chemistry with his team-mates but I very much liked his efforts trying to ping diagonals into the channels. It's another option for us going forward which is obviously a good thing. I'm sure we'll see him improve this season.
Didn't think we played that well today but fortunately West Ham weren't looking too great either. Dominated the game throughout but still not taking chances and lapses in concentration at the back are costing us big time. Nearly screwed this one up agianst a team we should be finishing above. Hopefully a couple more signing will solve the remaining issues. Should have ran away with it today.
We haven't exactly spent buckets this window. Sign Vietto up permanent. He's a quality player and still very young!
I have a fear of loan deals (with option to buy) after the Alderweireld fiasco. Just secure the player before everyone wants their signature.
These pundits are nothing more than football fans at the end of the day -their opinions are little more informed than ours. That's why Adkins and Le Tissier support our stance and Jamie Redknapp and Jamie Carragher support Van Dijk's.
