You didn't. You might have read he's a candidate but he hasn't accepted anything yet. Twitter has moved on to him being the next Leeds boss.
-
No, we want to lose because losing and being proved right is much better than winning the FA Cup. Jesus wept.
-
Sorry. I was going to keep going (the hot air balloon was on a advertising poster for a balloon show that he then had a picture of him stood in front of and so on) but i didn't want to get stupid with it.
-
He's got a framed version of that photo in his front room. There's a photo of him in front of it in the League Manager's trade magazine. He asked the magazine for the original of that photo and got it printed on the side of a hot air balloon. I think a photo of that was in the paper. There's a picture of him reading that newspaper article in Four Four Two magazine. I think he asked for the original photo.

Either they sack him today - feels unlikely now - or they try and steamroll the fans forum by starting with a supportive statement with a not too subtle "no further questions" tone to it, to shut it down from the off. Lets talk about gender neutral balti pies and travel arrangements for midweek cup ties, not the manager. I mean, it will be mental if it comes to that but the idea that the people running the club are tactically astute is long gone.

Might be just me but I think it would be more effective if people just typed "Jones Out" rather than uploading a photo. All I see on my phone is just a stream of photo image links rather than actual replies. And the image is shit as well. At least make him look like a Clown or something.

The development of Jackson's Farm must be starting any day now, maybe they'll update on that.
-
You have absolutely no idea what JWP has said internally, and any platitudes Thomas Frank comes out with are irrelevant. The one thing we do know is the transfer window strategy was entirely focused on staying up, so the club, right now aren't taking a "long term view" at all, quite the opposite.
-
Absolutely - I would think Potter will go off and "try a new experience" in Spain or Germany or something. He's definitely not coming to us but I don't think there's much in it for him to go to West Ham/Leicester/whoever either. Or he just sits tight, counts his money and then takes over from Southgate autumn 24.

If we had just beaten Liverpool then many would look at a trip to the bottom of the league team as a potential banana skin. Wolves might not be able to follow up their great result. What Wolves expect to be routine isn't quite that simple. Or, we're shit with a shit manager and we will lose easily. Take your pick.

It's very rare you get the pundit class sticking the boot into a fellow pro. Usually you get the platitudes around "give him more time" and "owners are too trigger happy these days" etc etc, and Jones would have been the perfect poster boy for the old "there's great managers lower down the league who never get a chance in the Prem". It really was all there for him. Instead you have got them queuing up to say he is an absolute twat on national TV and radio. Honestly as a club we look stupid, and poor old Nathan is going to be a figure of derision for some time.

Someone needs to haul a hot tub / paddling pool into the Northam, ideally with "YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR DEPTH" written on it in Tipp-Ex.

The mother has been regularly wanking the dog off since Boxing Day afternoon.
-
This is obviously garbage - if you look at Villa a while back you basically had someone or other saying "there's a board meeting and Gerrard will be sacked tomorrow" every single day for about four weeks. Those accounts just keep chucking out guesswork and eventually will be right. Eventually a tomorrow will come and Jones will be sacked.
-
Honestly I don't think that is a terrible idea. Let's just pretend the last three months was some kind of Bobby Ewing bad dream.
-
I quoted them and others did so they are still there. Generally berating the fans etc, but with a resignful "you'll all be happy now" at the end. I never thought it was Jones himself, just a connected person. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/59761-nathan-jones-out/?do=findComment&comment=3133315

I think the mysterious posts from Hotsaint last night (now deleted, even more of a sign) talking about how we would be "happy now" told me enough. By ten this morning I reckon. The replacement is key - we haven't got a load of games for a caretaker/Selles etc. Really need someone to get in there.
-
It's absolutely crazy that > the season we absolutely blow our "net spend" records sky high in both windows > we actually go out and pay a compensation fee for a manager the club really wanted Both these things happen and we're bloody bottom of the league and nailed on relegated. Couldn't make it up.
-
Does that mean he's gone?
-
"....and, with poetic irony, the manager who brought Southampton back into the Premier League is just about to take them right back down again with defeat today" We don't need the TV commentators and the bloody quiz writers going on about that forever. Absolutely no.
-
No, no, no. He doesn't need to be tarnished by this shit. The moment has passed.
-
They paired up, if they liked.
-
96%. Forum split straight down the middle, then.
-
They had Jones lined up within about 24 hours of Ralph going - pretty much zero time for fans to speculate before the Welsh Wonder arrived. So maybe - maybe - they are working on the replacement now, so there is a very short gap (rather than faffing around not sacking him). Or, they're just faffing about.

Man-management going great, then 👍👍👍
