  1. This Yuki character is quite nicely drawn in fairness. Think I might create a foreign fan alter ego for myself. Listen everyone. Lets just say I recently met a Bolivian student who enrolled at Southampton Solent to do business studies back in September and who has fallen in love with the Saints. And let's say I recommended he join the forum. And let's say his name is Sherberto Dippia. He may be on the forum in the next twenty minutes. Please make him feel welcome. His English is not how you say perfect thank you please.
  2. I watched a little of the BBC Scotland debate yesterday (two in two days of a debate involving a collection of politicians absolutely no one at all can vote for on polling day) and she did come across pretty well. A lesbian Scot might just be the perfect next leader of the UK Conservatives.
  3. This. Fair to say I am not adding anything to the wider debate anymore other than possibly the longest and most pointless long game of my forum life (in itself pretty pointless). Read in sequence It's coming together like a tone poem, like something by Samuel Beckett or a gun-based football forum Beowulf, albeit with more swearing. The time difference gives the whole thing a turn-based feel to it, with the responses coming overnight, ten hours apart. It's like a long distance postal chess game. Except you're playing chess with a pi ss ed up bonobo. Who, after eating most of the white pieces and the chessboard is now smearing the walls with his own sh it. But through the streaks you can just make out the letters L, O and L.
  4. I think that question has been answered pretty bloody definitively several times on this thread.
  5. For someone claiming to that they are being "told about the clubs ambition twenty times a week" you have a spectacular lack of understanding of what our ambition actually is. Clue: it is NOT about having "the money or attractiveness to break the hegemony of the top four". You're only seeing "false promise" because you are ignoring to what the club have actually said.
  6. Also, she's given her mobile number out on video via her twitter feed. Nice.
  7. Not being a local anymore I hadn't paid attention to the Labour candidate for Southampton Itchen. She seems nice and is one of those slightly quirky Labour/Co-op candidates, whatever the hell they are. I remember Stroud used to have a Lab/Co-Op MP for many years. I imagine they get a discount on funerals or something.
  8. For fu cks Sake, Yuki.
  9. I respect anyone with as much knowledge on Peruvian second division away kits as you have. Especially if they also come from Newport.
  10. That's because you continue to approach this issue from the starting point of "what happens if you are a runner up in the FA Cup" which has never, ever been the issue at hand. The issue at hand is "what happens when the FA Cup winner qualifies for the Champions League". Look at it that way round and there is no ambiguity and nothing is missed out in any statements.
  11. Always good for a chuckle.
  12. I notice they didn't say specifically that the team that finishes ninth doesn't qualify for anything. Or the team that finishes thirteenth. Or sixteenth. Or ninth. Or fifteenth. Or ninth. Or the losing quarter finalists of the FA Cup. Come on BBC, UEFA and everyone. You've only covered one case where clubs don't qualify, why not every single case?
  13. Okay, fine. Criminals get guns anyway you think. Clear. I was reading somewhere about "concealed carry", the right to carry firearms but concealed. And I was reading, I can't remember where, that in areas when concealed carry is brought in, crime goes "way down". I've got to say I'm sceptical. Do you agree that when concealed carry is brought in, crime would go way down?
  14. Don't tell our Jeff. He was frigging himself off about the news-worthiness of the businessmen-in-the-Telegraph letter like it was the effing moon landing.
  15. Only if we sticky everything I've written on this thread, especially when I've corrected you.
  16. I think that rule implies that if a non Champions league qualifier wins the FA Cup then they get the spot and the runner up gets nothing. And it is a rule that hasn't changed. That's what I think it implies.
  17. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_clubs_in_international_competition There are competing Wikipedia entries but this one shows the FA Cup as being the "best" way of qualifying for the EL. The runners up scenario people are panicking about basically works out as Liverpool saying "we don't want our cup based EL ticket (straight in the group stages) well take our league qualification spot instead (into a play off)." They'll take their Cup spot and the runners up get nothing.
  18. Come on Steve. Read those rules again and what they are for. If a team who has not qualified for the Champions League (lets call them Liverpool) wins the FA Cup they qualify for the Europa League as domestic cup winners. In this scenario the runners up don't qualify because they are not the domestic cup winners. The domestic cup provides zero or one entrant to the Europa League each season, but not two.
  19. Who on this forum is dreaming of Liverpool winning the cup?
  20. The reality is if Liverpool win the FA Cup they qualify for Europe because they've won the FA Cup. The runner up doesn't get to take the domestic cup place as well. There's one FA Cup spot for Europe, not two.
  21. I would sacrifice everything that has happened to our club over the last eight years just to have gotten to contest a play off final against West Brom. Not actually get into the Premier League, of course, because let's remember winning a play off semi doesn't promote you. Just the chance to have played West Brom in 2007. If. Only. Time is a great healer. Give it another eight years and see if you've got over it by then, poppet.
  22. On this thread you've rambled on (completely wrongly) about British people being subjects not citizens and rambled on (again completely wrongly) about me saying something about to you about the Queen. So let's not pretend you "stick to the subject" of the debate. Anyway, I haven't ignored your previous answer, just pleased that you have settled on an answer after several goes at agreeing/disagreeing with one simple statement. Well done. So, anyway, do you agree with the idea that "criminals get guns anyway" regardless of whether they guns are banned/heavily regulated? Personally I think gun control would overall reduce crime. Do you agree, or think I'm an idiot to think that? I think these questions are germane to the debate. Yes or no?
  23. Boo hoo. Still don't see how they screwed us but carry on the bitterness, it not quite been a decade since it happened so I imagine it must still be very raw for you. Heaven knows how the innocent victim in all this, fragile little Gareth Bale, reflects on that day now. I imagine he's struggled to put his life back together since that horrific experience.
  24. That's why we were kept behind. That's exactly why.
  25. I was there. They'd just got to Wembley and were celebrating. Presumably if we'd won you would have just shuffled off home politely applauding the Derby fans in a respectful manner?
