On the topic of theme songd I have to say I do like the Sheffield United Annie's Song anthem, although more than a little annoying last time I heard it. And Derby have a good one too. And Palace. Hull seemed to be trying to get Caravan of Love to be their song but didn't seem that effective (but have only been to the KC once, this season). Woolston Ferry is never going to catch on, we'd need a brand new local anthem. Walking Away by Craig David is my suggestion.

I've spent some time with some perfectly pleasant Americans through work and once we talked about the "we need guns to ensure the government is afraid of the people" argument mentioned earlier in the thread. It is so ridiculous to my lily-livered European pinko ears but seems hard wired into the wider American psyche as a central truth. As if individual members of the public owning a handgun is, in itself, a way to prevent dictatorship. Borderline inexplicable to me but seems a fundamental core belief. It would be a mountain to climb to change that.

The Arsenal game is on later to be fair. For the first and second round BBC coverage was good, but this is a bit of a damp squib. Them showing the Wimbledon match on Monday is dopey too when it should have been the centre piece of the weekend coverage.

Can you point me in the direction of a dictionary or major style guide that advises using the noun/adjective English without capitalisation?
