...Arsenal aren't an attractive enough club to keep hold of all of their players either. We will always lose players to the bigger clubs. Get used to it.
-
Shaw wouldn't ask that question and Theo and A O-C wouldn't give that answer. Professional footballers have this thing called self belief. If Shaw goes to Arsenal he will go determined to play. The fact he is already a Prem regular at 17 puts him in front of Theo and Alex anyway.
-
Think that will happen as a result of Arsenal becoming weaker and poorer more than us getting much bigger and stronger than we are now. Arsenal are a huge club and are essentially a feeder club for the uber rich right now. In that context Saints will always see players leave for money and progression. And fair enough.
-
Now that is good. As a result the Northam will never ever sing it.
-
Beat me to it. The high water mark of Saints forum ITKer bullsh it. Plenty on here swore blind this was true back in the day.
-
Typical DSM.
-
I think they are. They need more than a back to back wins. Even if they win the next three in a row they'll still be bottom three. They need Top six/Europe form from now on to stay up, and that won't happen. Arry's good but he aint that good.
-
Spare a thought for them. They do have to live in one of the most nondescript cesspits in Britain populated by low IQ trogs speaking in a peculiar wannabe-scouse accent. With all that to live with the bitterness is understandable.
-
What, like pretty much every single promoted side ever? Swansea, Norwich and even QPR didn't spend what we did last year and they all stayed up.
-
You're wrong, but really can't be bothered to explain why. Never mind your simple little head about it. Back on to the real topic, I doubt we will need as many as 40 points this season. The 36-8 mark would do it. I prefer to look at it in terms of wins. Win ten in a season and you are pretty much guaranteed safe. More guaranteed than basing the points target on the teams that finished in, errr, one of the the relegation spots. Genius.
-
A better guide is what the team in 17th got. If you want a benchmark that's it. After all, none of the teams in 18th stayed up did they? Pretty simple really.
-
You could but you'd likely still finish 18th in lots of those seasons. Utterly moronic to look at it that way.
-
Lets not start benchmarking against the team in 18th. We've had all this before. Lets see if we can achieve what the teams in 17th usually get, shall we?

My advice to everyone on this forum is to ignore everything Pilchards ever says. He clearly gets a couple of snippets of things from hanging around Staplewood car park or whatever it is he does but he believes his own hype and sets himself as Captain Hotline to the stars. He's totally full of it and has been for years.

They did this last year over Christmas/New Year. No FLS for any of the match days for the whole festive period including New Years Day. Inexplicable and pointless. Wouldn't surprise me if it is same again.
-
That quote isn't blaming the pitch for the result is it? As Minty says, no point making stuff up is there.
-
Precisely why he's got the job. If he lived in Chilworth and had reputation for speaking out he wouldn't have got near it. This is a nice little number by the Loan Arranger. Well played Nicola.

I couldn't be arsed to check any more clubs but Fulham, Stoke and West Brom, three clubs with successive seasons in the Prem...none of them have spent more than us on a single player. Ever. In West Brom's case Gaston was about three times higher than their record signing. I know this forum is a one stop shop for disingenous bullsh it but please lets stop this horsecr ap that a 14m outlay is "no huge deal". Yes it is, maybe not for at most three or four clubs in the division but a huge deal for all others including us. That money does need to deliver for us.
-
No chance. Nige far too honourable to walk out on Derby to go to "that lot down the road". Won't happen. Feel free to dig this post up in two days time when he gets unveiled, of course.
-
Boxing day is when clubs typically get their biggest gates - so considering that it's a terrible attendance.
-
Let's hope Davis keen to impress back at the cottage. Desperately need to keep them quiet for the first half at least, Fulham not in form so keeping the crowd grumpy for an hour would be a big help. Don't gift it to em Saints.
-
How true. Rugby is a proper man's game. I remember going to a Harlequins match a few years back and seeing that Tom Williams having to come off the pitch. Proper bleeding he was and everything. Hopefully he was okay in the end.
-
I am Nigel Adkins and you people are all ungrateful pri cks.
-
Not really. We're going to finish, at best, fifth from bottom. That was pretty obvious on day one and little has changed. Games are going to be like this. We're not relegated yet, and as long as it stays like that before the kick off on the final day, we've done well.
