What on earth is an "independent valuation" anyway? Useless, made up numbers. Since promotion from L1 we have spent millions. Since promotion from the NPC we outspent nearly every club in Europe. So unless you genuinely think we are labouring with genuine L1 players (and you can name them) I fail to see your point. The "perspective" posts always come from a "poor us" perspective but that doesn't make it true. Most clubs, including Newcastle, would kill for the funds we seem to have to spray about. And plenty of promoted clubs have thrived in the prem without sloshing cash about like we have. Go and look at WBA's all time highest transfer in. And they have done fine. So I don't accept that we are in a disadvantage to these mighty clubs around us. Quite the opposite. The exact opposite.

It tells us the teams on 26 points after that many games did not go down. And that the bottom three teams came from the bottom four then. The brains trust on this forum can talk about collapses and mega surges of form but the brutal truth is very little will change between now and May. West Ham are as likely as Man United to go down. They aint going down. If that was Saints in that position right now Les Wender and gang would be crowing about Champions League and 50,000 stadiums and sneering at anyone saying we were scrapping to stay up.

Stick to skulking around the training ground car park or whatever it is you do. WHU aren't going down you absolute spanner.

The Red/Asia thing is totally overplayed and if you think that signing a couple of asians and playing in all red is some kind of "obvious" marketing masterstroke then you are deluded. Some sources say Chelsea have 100m Asian fans. And Chelsea wear blue. And, well, win stuff. All the time. We just might need to do that a lot to be big in Asia. Quite. Bit silly to complain about squad depth with twelve million quid's worth of attacking talent on bench, two million quid striker farmed off on loan. Two million on a rookie keeper, with a CL keeper drafted in on top. Strengthened the midfield with Davis at, what, another 3 mil? Can't remember. And despite our lack of defensive steel we still found the time to spend millions on a full back and a centre back. We may have made mistakes but we invested in depth just like we all begged Mr Lowe to do. Well we've done it now and people still want more, as they always will.

We outspent most clubs in Europe, so had the funds to rectify this. I don't quite remember Norwich blowing nearly every club in Europe out of the water eighteen months ago but I am sure you do. I do not accept the "poor tiny League One underdog Southampton" sob story.

Brilliant. Can you imagine the uproar if an opposing manager or, god forbid, Mark Lawrenson came out and said "Southampton are nothing but a bunch of League One players". The divs on this thread currently saying exactly that would be going apesh it.

What happened to our NPC winning team being better than the England team? Turns out we're just a Yeovil that got lucky. Love this forum.
