  1. But we have scored three ...?

  3. No point, the are just all 'hypochondriacs'!
  4. I wondered how long before someone labelled this as a 'must win' game!!!!!
  5. How do you know this is a 'false'dawn - it might be the real one.
  6. Yes, but we were due to play Walsall, not Warsaw!
  7. How come he can stay fit for seven games at Stockport could not stay fit for seven minutes here?
  8. The sheer arrogance of some on here is just astonishing. Home draw, prem opposition and its BORING?
  9. The problem is the FA hand you a very big fine if you do! Four changes from your first eleven is about as far as yo can go I reckon.
  10. Thanks, I didn't know that. I am certainly familiar with the musical term cadence which,in sonata form, is the phrase of music leading to the close of a section of a movement. I had no idea it had wider connotations but I am not sure your application to Rickie goal scoring record is quite appropriate. Whilst he scores (scored?) goals often does he the frequency at which he does form a rhythm? Its a good word anyway and I would not want to unduly criticise its use in this context. No further news on loans then?
  11. I reckon Mail Taylor should be in goal - look what he has done at prem/international level.
  12. 93. We gave the world Mike Channon 94. We had the best centre forward the world has ever seen!
  13. Were not the people on the match thread questioning whether NA was good enough and whether he was just a temporary appointment and, indeed, didn't one poster say he would be gone by the end of the season - FACT? NA said during the week that they would not get carried away if they won a couple of games and would not panic if they lost one - it is a long season! I wish some of you guys on here would not write them off after just ten minutes in a game or on one result at Huddersfield.
  14. Ron Davies - priceless

    Current form

If all the teams continue in the same form as they have done over the last 6 games then we will finish second, 15 points behind Brighton and 7 points ahead of Bournemouth who finish third! Sheff Weds, Peterborough and Bristol Rovers make up the other play off places. Of course, it won't finish like that, this is football we are talking about.
  16. Don't worry, it's only a loan ... he will be back soon.
  17. LOL! No, 'old git' may be but not sad. 'Life is too short' as the saying does to get too run down by current events. After 50 plus years supporting Saints I do long for the 'good old days' of the 60's but they won't come back. I take every twist and turn of the Saints saga as it comes, usually with disappointment in recent years, but its only football after all and I have a lot of other interests. We move on, what will be will be, but I don't think it is time to take an overdose because of a few bad weeks; things may look up next week and you wouldn't want to miss that would you?
  18. Gosh, you are a sad old git aren't you!
  19. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6390712,00.html "We are there to talk football, that's all." says Andronikou. "Anything else is up to Milan." Why is AA there to talk football? He is an accountant/administrator isn 't he?
  20. Press: "Saints are looking for a new manager and surely Eddie Howe of Bournemouth will be in the frame" Mitchell to Howe: "Eddie, the press are linking you to the Southampton job, any truth in it?" Howe to Mitchell: "No Mr Mitchell, sir. I am happy here why would I want to leave?" Mitchell to Press: "I spoke to Eddie and he says he is not interested in the Saints job" Press: "Eddie Howe turns down the chance to become Southampton manager." See, it was probably as easy as that nipper! No one has told a lie; Eddie Howe does not want the job - fine but he was never offered it because he did not apply. Stop turning rumour in to fact (although I have to say 90% of posters on here are very good at that). Saints are conducting their business in dignified silence while others can't keep their mouths shut and attempt to use the press to spin and manipulate. Frankly, I am impressed at NC's style and find it laughable how many on here see him as a hot headed, impulsive tyrant!
  21. Answer to your question - no he was not in Switzerland, he was having dinner with 14 season ticket holders. See below ... Yesterday 06:33 PM #1 exit2 Administrator Join Date Nov 2006 Location That is something that really and honestly will never be answered properly and completely Posts 2,225 Cortese Questions Sorry if posted before but tonight 14 season tickets holders who have been selected at random are having dinner with Nicola Cortese and allowed to ask "on the spot" questions. Are they any ST holders from here going?
  22. NC conducts his business in private, Scvnthorpe conduct their business in public. Spot the difference! Scvnthorpe didn't want to lose Adkins,so the chairman 'goes public' which obviously causes a major upset. Remember, you have heard only one side of the argument again and are only likely to.
  23. OK. I have listened to all the gossip and rumour; considered all the arguments; looked at all the evidence; turned hearsay and speculation in to fact and have decided that the club will announce tomorrow, when NC returns from his meeting in Switzerland with the appropriate approvals, that our new first team management structure will be: Director of Football - Martin O'Neill First Team Coach - Nigel Adkins Adkins will bring his buddies with him to fill the other roles. YHIHF
  24. I think that is a bit unfair. I believe we do have a coherent 'development' vision for the future not an outdated view of 'reserves' as in the past. As other have said, and as the club said when they pulled out of the reserve league, the current system is just totally inadequate and the club is forced to look at other ways to develop younger players. Sadly, this just looks like another veiled NC snipe to me.
  25. Thanks Benji, wish I had written that. The reason Pardew, Downes and Murdoch were sacked CANNOT be made public. To do so would start open warfare and possibly lead to court cases! We actually have no right to know! What has gone on is between those involved and if NC saw fit to do what he has done then he, and he alone, will have to live by the consequences. We are merely spectators and all we can do is watch and hope. I thought we had hit rock bottom last May, I had hoped things had taken a turn for the best and good times were ahead. Despite being upset at the loss of Marcus and surprised by the loss of AP there will better times to come, this is just a set back.
