  1. Shearer to return..... http://www.guardian.co.uk/global/2009/jun/08/premierleague-arsenal
  2. Betty Windsor and Phil the Greek
  3. Usually about 3 weeks before a purchase of a football club completes the purchasers bank is notified and the cat is out the bag on who is the purchaser, how much they're paying and how the deal is structured. Some deals are settled out here where breaching bank privacy laws can get you 10 years porridge, but we still all get to know who's doing what and when. Problem with Saints is there isn't the slightest rumour on who is facilitating the purchase coming from any institution at the moment, unless its Northam Post Office where I don't have any contacts. Seriously, the big players/usual suspects ain't involved.
  4. the Echo get it from here, it's called research (they teach them this stuff at former polytechnics)
  5. at last, someone gets it.....
  6. more like a false story fed to the media by people on this messageboard, for whatever reason i don't know. If Peter Storrie is relieved of duties down the road he could certainly do a job here, that man CAN sell shyte to the arabs. As for Saints, I never believed MJ consortium was serious, an educated guess said MLT consortium never had the dosh and the Irish story was utter bullshine. Things smell bad.
  7. Along Southsea there was a fair bit of new development which had the aim of displacing the traditional people of that area and gentrifying it with middle class folk from London. The displaced pikeys ended up in the flower garden estates of Swaythling and such like, drive down there, they have tracksuits, necklaces and every other hallmark of a pikey. The gentrification of Southsea then brought in further investment as the local population were not viewed as parasitic workshy scum, but as valued members of society. We need to displace a sizable chunk of Southampton and gentrify it. That in turn will bring in more commercial investment, increasing the attraction of the football club to potential investors.
  8. Could be a bad move, what if they try and replace the Balti Nan's with Colcannon or Burgers with Soda bread? I think we should say thanks, but no thanks. We have to safeguard the future.
  9. it is now evident that a local loon has been living a Walter Mitty style "I'm a Business Strategist" fantasy in a vain attempt to impress the people on this messageboard.
  10. Unlike Saints, Sunderland seem capable of attracting investors and now have a reported £200m transfer budget for next season. That would make an interesting project for the wee man.
  11. Do you think that for one minute, he looked at the possibility of buying Saints? http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/103037/Black-Cats-to-take-on-the-world Depressing stuff when the likes of Sunderland can attract that level of investment and we are basically relying on the generosity of fans.
  12. A fool and his money....we need a certified spacecadet £14m is way too high. £6m breakup value, offer £7m.
  13. When i lived in the UK, he was my next-door neighbour. Nice chap.
  14. cost a fortune in keyboards
  15. or ar least my dry cleaning bill
  16. From where did this delightful snippet of sunshine come from?
  17. If the Pinnacle bid was clearly head and shoulders above the Jackson bid, why bother? Would MLT need to back Abramovich/Allen etc We all know he couldn't align himself with Jackson in all seriousness. Now, Fry hopes to select a single bidder over the next 24hrs. Now, I maybe a cynic but I'm sat miles away, haven't chatted with either bidder and can safely state the Jackson bid was never a flier. C'mon, really? You heard that interview FFS? Now as the administrator has been dragging his feet for so long, I can safely assume that finance is an issue for the Pinnacle bid, otherwise why risk upsetting a potential deal by wasting time with Xerox Jackson? Things ain't smelling good....
  18. On the evidence that Marc Jackson has got past Mr Fry's receptionist, id say we're fooked.
  19. http://fansonline.net/southampton/article.php?id=658 Looks like there are 2 bids and thats the end of it.
  20. Southampton Ruperts, it's got a ring to it...
  21. what channel on sopcast?
  22. myp2p gone down as well, what's the sopcast channel number? Thanks
  23. There will be more manure fans than saints fans in the ground, that much is a given. All the xmas pressy tickets for young kids wanting to watch their sky sports heroes. Makes me sick to see the beautiful game ruined by the premier league/sky conglomerate but that's beyond our control, in the mean time remember that games like these are the only opportunity for many to see their team, however bitter that pill is. Why ruin someones xmas over some fictitious ghey bi-partisan rivalry? We are all good little consumers after all.
  24. So, exactly how many of the current squad were here during SCW tenure? At the end of the day, the players are so crap they could do triple training with Sir Alex Ferguson and I doubt it would make any diffrence, it just keeps them off the streets and out of barmaids purses. I couldn't give a crap how much they whinged about training, it's obviously not hard enough as they still have the energy to whinge, until they win 10 matches in a row, they don't have the right to voice an opinion at all.
