Perhaps they were just clueless..? Nice one, on the self fix though. Can't imagine what a plumber would have charged you.

Quite simple really. Opposition teams playing at home attack much more, which leaves room at the back for counter attacking. That suits Saints 4-5-1 style. If the home team don't score, Saints are going to be in the hunt. It just shows that JP's attitude is to stop the opposition playing before we try to impose ourselves, because we're not a strong enough side.
-
Well JP is always saying that we create lots of chances during games, and I've no reason to doubt him. It doesn't matter a jot if they don't go in though. Like every other team, Saints could do with a clincal finisher. McGoldrick has found the present setup hard going. He isn't crap like lots of supporters have pointed out. He's just out of his depth at the moment. I'm sure he'll learn, but at the moment, we don't have the time to give him. Someone who instinctively knows where to be, at the right time, is a hard find. Alan Shearer has always had that ability, which is why he was so good. Still makes me laugh that we sold him so early, and then got Kerry Dixon and David Speedie to improve the side. What a joke that was. Typical Saints though. On the point of doing something really good, and then cashing it all in, so that we can get back to struggling. That's where the joke ends.

Appreciate your sentiment David, but a better team makes it's own luck, so to speak. I don't happen to believe in the commodity of luck, in any case, preferring to call it good or bad timing. Obviously, Saints got their timing just about right with Lee Holmes and David McGoldrick linking well to score the necessary goal. Better teams, with a better understanding of each individual player, get their timing just about right more often.

I know you said you couldn't find any information, but I just entered MMC Cartridge into Google and got this straight away: http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=727 and from that: http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=272 The B&O 1500 record deck hasn't gone down in history as the best sounding record deck for the price you pay, but it's no slouch either. With B&O you paid for the sleek styling, and this was always a trade off to the sound quality. Nevertheless, a deck worthy of taking trouble over, and far better than anything cheap today.

Whatever you do DON'T buy a cheap turntable. Poor quality turntables will only produce a poor output signal which will be magnified by the amp and speakers. I would suggest you continue to investigate the equipment you already have. Here's a quick few tidbits for you information: Input stages to an amp that are used by CD, Cassette, Tuner, Video, etc... are LINE input stages, which require no more pre-amplification. Just turn up the volume on the amp. Phono input stages use RIAA correction [look it up if you want], and are much more sensitive to the tiny output signals generated by the phono cartridge. Phono cartridges themselves come in various types, e.g. piezo-electric/ceramic [C}, moving magnet [MM], and moving coil [MC]. The lowest quality is C, and the highest is MC. C cartridges are quite high output, and MC are very low ouptut. MM are, in every respect, in the middle of all this. If they are switchable, you must tailor your Nakamichi's phono stages to your cartridge. For example, do not have a MM cartridge set to a MC phono stage configuration. It will sound completely wrong. Turntable and cartridge setup is crucial. A new cheap turntable will only approximate these settings, hence the poor sound they can only achieve. Modern cheap turntables ahve their own pre-amplification and can be used in the LINE stages of an amp. I doubt if your old turntable does this. PM me if you need any specific advice. Just don't buy some cheap crap and think you've solved your problem.

Doncaster_ Most important game of season?
St Landrew replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
I really don't understand this selective must win mentality. Every game should be considered a must win. Must win mentailty is the mentality of a loser. It suggests that there are games that you are allowed to lose. If a club is going to be succesful, then every game is a must win from the first game of the season to the last. Do you think clubs like Man U talk about must wins..? No, every game has to be won. -
Also agree with everything here.

Exactly my feeling. Almost unbelievable that the shares started out at near 150p per, and immediately began a steep downward trend.

JP the most experienced manager in the league?
St Landrew replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Pretty much sums up my opinion. Why ITV get to televise league sport at all [well, pretty much any sport] remains a mystery. They will eventually marginalise any sport. They are not a public service channel, and so they will concentrate on the big ratings, and that means select teams. The BBC, will always try to balance their coverage, which means that next season's Championship programme should be a big improvement on the crap served up by ITV. -
Saints Greatest XI - B Team Right Striker Nominations
St Landrew replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
While I can still think clearly, I'll nominate Kevin Keegan a right side striker for the B-Team. -
OK, this is a slight change to the usual. Following on from last week's A-Team only nominations and vote, we're doing the same for the B-Team. Regular readers will know why we tweaked the format. Please explain to those who don't understand, as I've picked up another bug from the same workplace as I did just before Xmas. So I'm completely washed out again. Next time I'm going in wearing a surgeon's mask. One nomination only, obviously no Mick Channon this time, but anyone else who is not currently on a team is up for grabs. The nominations thread will hopefully last for 48 hrs or so, but if I get worse, who knows. Please be patient Cheers Now, off you go.

In that case maybe Matt's 50 Greatest Goals copied to VHS.
-
That's no surprise, Tim. EDIT: Perhaps we should send an Unbelievable VHS tape.

It's one match. Just the beginning of a start, so to speak. Every future match remains of the upmost importance. Well done today.

Saints Greatest XI - Best Right-Side Forward/Striker Poll
St Landrew replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Thanks peeps, the poll is now closed of for the A Team position. Been really busy of late, so haven't updated. Will do soon. -
Oi Mods! Unlock the first half thread please.

Looks like when I'm not here it all falls to pieces..! Thread now open. I won't necessarily be around to open the rest of them peeps, as I'm working. -
But in a real sense, Lowe does pick the team, by proxy. Or Barclays, if you prefer; else we'd have Rasiak for selection, or Stern John, or several other players that have slipped through the net. Granted, JP picks the team from the pool of players he has available. But who's to say who makes the decision on who is available..? Now where's that Jack Cork chappie gone to..?
-
It's ridiculous to suggest Saints should never had moved from The Dell. Much as a loved the old ground, the mistake was not doing it much sooner.
-
What have Saints got to lose..? We know that Marek has a hatful of goals in him if he's played properly, or none. Well, the present strikeforce has none or none. No brainer really.
-
There's that sheltered lifestyle again. I've never seen The Amityville Horror all the way through, as I thought it crap, but I still know of this house. Still unfamiliar with 2001 - A Space Odyssey..? The butler did it.

Learn guitar online. There's loads of people doing free lessons. Just go through a few to see who suits you best. I've found the best ones advise you to walk before you can run, so you don't develop bad habits. And they always advise you to practice, which is my biggest downfall. But I'm slowly getting somewhere. All you need is some decent self discipline. EDIT: BTW, this guy is a great teacher. And being online he's pretty damn patient too: http://www.justinguitar.com/

To be honest, M&S have been barking up the wrong tree for ages. If they're not careful they'll end up in the same dilemma as Woolies was. No market of which they are the leader. Reputations count for nothing, and that this isn't just... this is M&S... advert series was/is a joke from start to finish IMO. Frankly, I cringe and reach for remote every time I see/hear it. John Lewis have shown them the way to go.

NO..! BTW, Just unplug the bloody thing.
