Really? I can't recall you ever mentioning this? Did you ever mention where you ended up? I'm sure I can't remember reading it at all.

The article was more a positive PR exercise for Moyes than anything else. Doubt any incoming man utd manager will let others buy players before they arrive.
-
Moyes had an unenviable task at Manure, taking a team that has a few excellent players but a majority of good players and trying to emulate Fergusons success whilst operating under constant scrutiny. With a team of just "good" players, he was always going to struggle as the top 4 or 5 have a wealth of excellent players at their disposal. Ferguson showed his managerial abilities by making those good players play consistently above their level to let the excellent players do their stuff. Moyes wasn't able to replicate this, but that doesn't mean to say he is a bad manager. To answer the OP's question, IMHO I don't think he'd be a good fit for Saints and the ambition they (presumably) still have, but in a different situation, say with the club wanting to operate at a financial level where they are not spending big amounts on players and are often seen as a middle tier PL club, he could do OK. T'would be boring though! And some managers need to fail in order for them to learn. Pulis has been mentioned recently as a miracle worker, which is not far wrong, but by crikey, he took his time and with a number of failures at lower league clubs along the way before he acquired enough skill and ability to manage well at PL level. Moyes will be a better manager for his experience at Manure, but I wouldn't want to necessarily see him here.

Obviously lacking bite and pace up front since J Rod's injury - 1 goal since - so expect, unfortunately a narrow defeat. I'd stick SG up front from the start to give him game time. We probably wont get caught by the geordies and we can't realistically catch anyone in front of us, so maybe give the lad a full 90 to see how he copes.

RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
Special K replied to 42's topic in The Saints
Am I able to transfer my "proper fan" status points over to a season when i'm a plastic? You see, I have been an ST holder in the past, both at the Dell and SMS, for which I would have, presumably, earned a great deal "proper fan" points. I even went to a great many away games and everything, further enhancing myself as a proper fan. But this season, due to work and other commitments, I've only managed to get to 2 games, placing me firmly in the shameful "plastic fan" bracket. So my question is, can I carry over some points, like a no-claims bonus on your motor vehicle insurance if you like, to elevate me back to being seen as a proper fan? -
You complete P***k.

Starting a number of tasks that never get finished. Can't believe the number of times the shopping has been half put away, or the washing up is half done or the beds half made and i've finished it off. Loads of time to spend bunnying to her mother on the phone though. That is always overdone. Driving is also an issue. 50 mph everywhere.

CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months

Where's the campaign to re-name Southampton Airport FFS. And a road or something permanent like that. Who the f**k is Thomas Lewis anyway? I might buy some Asda lo-price sausages and make a stew type dish to name after him. They contain ligaments and stuff so i will fondly remember JayRod as i chew through the gristly platter. -
There is a waterfront scheme being drawn up which will, hopefully, provide a very good opportunity to extend the city towards the water. I suspect the shopping around east street will suffer, but retail is concentrated around west quay now whether it's liked or not and will not change. The Council will need to have a firm idea what they want for these areas, but it seems a small price to pay for the necessary advances these waterfront developments will bring. I just hope they get the planning design right.

Christ sake, give the lad a chance. Hope he has a blinder. Come on saints, no pressure, Citeh looked knackered last week. Show them what you're about.

Was that the one at what is now the Blue Keys hotel in Northlands Road? I forget what it used to be called - hopefully someone will remind me. If it was the same one, it was a terrific do with the great man there. After a home game, if I remember correctly - maybe last game of the season as i recall it was a nice warm day. Saintslist was good fun. I remember turning out in goal for them once up at the Sports centre - which is unusual as i am pretty dire at playing football. -
Article on Claus and his post Football struggles
Special K replied to KelvinsRightGlove's topic in The Saints
Makes your skin crawl! Little bit extreme there Alps! There were a lot of players who went missing in that relegation season, but old Lukewarm was as bad as he could be, I'll admit. Very honest piece and it is great to hear he has gone a very long way towards conquering his demons. Good on yer Claus. -
That was bad enough. This is even more pathetic, but, unfortunately, is not the first time Insulted from Southampton has taken to complaining about media items of no consequence. I think we should get a sponsorship deal with Kleenex so all the powder puff fans can have a good cry into sponsored tissues when they don't like what Lawro/Schmeichel/Savage says about the club or the players. It would also have the benefit of helping out those who talk shyte as they can clean up after themselves too.

It's all gone to sh1t this 2nd half.

But unlike insurance policies, once you had selected (or been forced into) an annuity scheme, you could not change provider and were stuck with it. Annuity rates were at their best around the year 2000, but have been declining since then and represent poor value for money and a lot of people have been badly "advised" when taking out annuities. I would also be very suprised in those poor b****rs who karked it with money left "in the pot" propped up those who lived longer than predicted. More likely it went on more short term gloss like dividends to shareholders, office relocations and management bonuses! Personally I think it's a good thing. It gives people choice and for those anticipating a maelstrom of pensioners squandering their money as soon as they retire, I prefer to think virtually all will be sensible enough to plan a pension drawdown scheme that will be adequate for their needs. Of course, this assumes that there is enough in the pots in the first place and from my recent pension review, the people investing my money are doing a pretty ****-poor job at the moment.

IMHO the problem with Ocean Village was because it was a stand alone development and not integrated to any overall masterplan for the city. Doubtless, mistakes were made with it which has left a problem for the council as to how they join up the isolated decent areas of the city, but it is undergoing considerable transformation and hopefully will work - although the old phrase "you can't polish a turd" may spring to mind! We'll see when Bouygues have finished there later this year. You're right in what you say of the make up of the proposed development at Royal Pier. But any modern development will always need to be financed through retail, commercial and residential levers - which is essentaially what Gunwharf is, but it is seen as a success, so there is no reason why this one cannot be too. My understanding is that there has been a great desire to get this project off the ground for some time, but the Crown Estate were the problem with its unwillingness to sign up - it owns a fair chunck of the site. But it will depend on the design and let's hope they don't waste a glorious opportunity to attract the likes of Bazza back into the City and give him some civic pride when he's talking to his scouse mates.

Hopefully this will go a long way to providing just that. https://www.southampton.gov.uk/s-environment/future/ccplans/vipproj/royal-pier-waterfront.aspx

Joan Collins gets a new, much younger, boyfriend. She’s a bit worried about the state of her Clopper so she goes along to the Doctor to get herself tidied up down below. She insists on total privacy for the operation, so no-one must know it is happening. The Doc agrees. She wakes up from the operation and sees 3 bunches of flowers at the foot of the bed. Believing word has got out, Joan goes crazy and starts to have a pop at the Doctor. “Wait a moment” he says, “The first bunch is from me, we’ve been friends a long time. The second bunch is from Fiona. She’s my nurse assistant and I can assure you of her discretion.” “What about the third?” asks Joan. “That’s from Fred in the burns unit.” “He wants to say thanks for his new ears”

Back in the early 80's when i played under tyro league football I really wanted a pair of Adidas Beckenbauer Supers. But my folks were skint and I ended up with a crappy pair of Winfield Specials (Woolworths own) I could have been bitter and not moved on, but no. Undeterred, I got a couple of lads from the Remedial class at school to nick a goodly number of top shelf magazines over a 6 month period, which i sold for a profit to other nippers at the school. Within those 6 months I had enough cash to buy my beloved Beckenbauer Supers (which i grew out of about a year later).

Good news indeed. But I'll wager they find dabs from Dune / Sanchez and the last recorded journey will be from Freemantle to the Nobwood Arms (or whatever it is called) in Liverpool.
