  1. Kamil Kosowski played for APOEL in the CL after a loan spell with us.
  2. Would you be so kind as to suggest some more websites like this so that i can conduct a thorough survey of my own, just to see what i would be signing up to or opting out of or whatever. About 1,000 would do, but please feel free to suggest more if you feel it necessary.
  3. FFS. Back to the top-shelfers again.
  4. Don't know meself. I used to follow on twitter, but, like most "celebs" on twitter he's so far up his own arse, i sacked it off. I'd wave a fried mars bar under his nose, that would break the ****.
  5. You keep going GS. **** the spunkbubbles who can't take a little bit of speculation. Not worth the proverbial w@nk. There's nowt wrong with the thread, just a bit of "not unrealistic" speculation.
  6. Wonder if he'll want to be the man or the woman?
  7. Tim, The Vestry or Buon Gusto before and after the Mayflower are very nice, as is Ceno's after a trip to the Nuffield. Oxford Street is always a decent night out and hopefully the redevelopment of Ocean Village will provide more choice there too. It's not that bad and certainly not as remote as you made out (and there are cabs too!). Whilst it's not the most vibrant place to go out it's good enough (all imho of course). Bournemouth is alright, but not as good as here (again imho), although Brighton is a terrific place to go. Someone else mentioned Bristol - cracking place with lots of cultural attractions.
  8. I've always found the Nuffield Theatre, Mayflower and The Hub to be terrific venues for a wide variety of shows. The City Gallery is OK as is the Hansard Gallery for Art. The Guildhall, Brook and Joiners are really good venues for music as is the Turner Sims for classical, jazz, and a host of other stuff. The Harbour Lights has always been decent too. Plenty going on that doesn't include getting w@nkered on alcopops (unless that is the modern definition of culture) if one can be @rsed to look for it.
  9. There are some uptight ****ers on this forum. Bit of a prank that's all. Lighten up FFS. More important things to worry about in life than a skate prank.
  10. Chaplow was terrific for us and seems like a real top fella too.would have liked him to be a part of this season but it is not to be. Cracking player who will do very well at millwall. Good luck chappers.
  11. If Celtic had been admitted to the PL from its inception in '92 they'd have been champions a good few times I reckon. Huge club, great history and from the fans i've met, top lads too. VW is coming for the PL, the money and the sunshine. But he's not coming for a step up in his career that's for sure - scored against Barca in a victory in the CL last year, so coming to Saints is not going to top that. But i couldn't care less. Seems like a good player and that's all that counts.
  12. Seems about the long and the short of it. Can't quite see what the fuss is about meself (apart from the obvious political sabre-rattling about Euro intereference, etc).
  13. Haven't seen very much of Wanyama, but there are plenty of postive posts on here and positive notes elsewhere, which is very pleasing. Hope he settles in well and makes a good impact on the pitch. IMHO Gaston is more likely to have a more settled season. I am looking forward to him being a key part of this season. The only way i think he would go is if he was used as a makeweight for a (potentially) better attacking midfielder like this Banega chap. But Gaston has the ability to have a serious impact this season and I hope he does.
  14. I think the Lounge is for discussion, sometimes serious, sometimes not, but purely serious? No, not at all. However, it does feel that it has got more that way over time. For all your gentle baiting pap, no, I can safely say that i have never been "bruised" by an internet forum. Crikey, I feel sorry for anyone that has felt that way. I like the forum as a distraction and to keep up with the Saints. Sometimes one gets more involved that at other times, but it's a fine piece of frippery, nothing else. I guess you must have seen a little bit of yourself in my cheeky little swipe at the politicos on here. Fair enough, but i wouldn't want anyone to read too much into that, even less for anyone to leave or be banned. I've found over the years (with the various incarnations of this saints forum), most thread topics have come up a number of times and they generally consist of the same posts, so i spend far less time on here than i used to (not to mention the increasing demands of work). But a fair wind and fine voice to all those who do post more regularly.
  15. Fabulous game. Murray looks a fair bit fitter and more resilient than previous years and winning the US Open must have given him that little bit more self-belief that he could win another Grand Slam. The standard of tennis was magnificent and although Murray has failed to deliver in the past (and cried like a girl last year) he really put on a perfomance yesterday and thoroughly deserved the title. Well done fella. Do it again next year.
  16. The feeling that this forum was better in the good old days often gets trotted out during the close season as there is nowt but transfer speculation to occupy the minds of fans. There is some general @rse-iness until the pre season friendlies start and then everyone falls in love with each other just before the first game, in eager anticipation and then it generally goes back to slanging matches after the first few games! But the main forum is still very good and both fun and a useful source of information. Shame some posters genuinely seem to get wound up about transfer gossip and the validity of the posts when, really, it's all just a bit of fun. FWIW, although it's still pretty good, I think the Lounge forum is not as much fun as it used to be. Go back about 6, maybe 7 years ago (iirc) it was quite good fun and there were some very funny threads (lots of posters contributed to them) which we don't seem to get anymore. I think posters generally seemed to be a bit more relaxed, could take a wind up and didn't get so upset about posts back then. Unfortunately there appears to be an increasing number who see posters and posts and trolls and trolling when it really it's no such thing. IMHO it's a lazy reaction to something they just don't like and it's not good to get frothy at the gash for no good reason. But that in itself can be quite entertaining if the wind up is good enough. It has also become a bit too focused on political issues with some potentially decent threads never given a chance, which kind of makes the lounge predictable. IMHO some posters would do well finding other forums more suited to the political arena instead of using this one, but there are easy targets on here, so it can offer some payback to them if they want a cheap, quick bit of self-validation. Don't know about the other forums as i don't really go on them tbh. So i guess it's mainly nostalgia, but the lounge has changed. All IMHO of course.
  17. Not at all. The McCanns asked the Govnt to authorise the Met to open a fresh investigation. No 10 agreed to let the Met decide. This is the latest disclosure from the Met on their findings, which has prompted them to continue their inquiry. Nothing strange there.

  19. Completely agree. I posted some time ago about him making a decent midfielder - a view that was derided by many of course! - as he seems he could be adaptable enough (with the right coaching) to be able to play various roles within the team. His crossing is excellent and he never drops his head, even with the abuse he gets from the crowd. And for the boo boys, it's better if Fox stays as they have their scapegoat for another season instead of having to find another one.
  20. Wondered how long it would be before someone came up with the achingly predictable but nonetheless pathetically snide "everyone else's choice is ****" comment. Not long as it happens. Well done you.
  21. Monty. 81 to 86. You?
  22. 43. Born and raised in Winchester. Live in Shirley Village now! Lived in Southampton for 20 odd years since finishing Uni. First game, I think, was a reserve game with KK playing as he returned from injury. Before that i'd seen the odd game on TV but started going properly with a mate and his uncle from about 1982. My old man didn't take me as he was a Pompey fan! ( the slag!). I do remember the first games me and my mates were allowed to go to without adults though, they were the two end of season games where we beat spurs 5-0 and Coventry 8-2 (iirc). Away games - can't remember but went to loads in the mid to late 90's, generally a big day out, so memories are a bit vague. Could be the QF FA cup game against man u on a Monday night (95 ish?) when we lost but played them off the park.
  23. Don't like it. Not that fussed about kits tbh, but would like to see the old stripes back. Gold lettering looks like it's advertising a cheap chinese takeaway, still i s'pose it'll still sell like hotcakes, especially when the nippers but parents under some emotional blackmail, despite all football shirts being a total rip off.
  24. From where i'm sat there has been some movement, but it is only due to frustration at the inability and unwillingness of the government and banking system to turn words into actions. So some clients have had to operate in other ways. But the knock on effect has been negligible and there is still too much uncertainty for commitment to extended growth, just little spurts of activity followed by large periods of nothing (sounds like most marriages!) It makes me laugh when people see mortgage lending as an optimistic sign of economic recovery. Aren't any frigging lessons learned?
