  1. It's all well and good creating loads of chances, but on the training ground they need to learn how to bury those bloody chances and turn that into serious goal hauls on the pitch. Villa were ripe for a big spanking tonight and we could and should have obliged. Rant over! Other than that lots to be happy about and really looking forward to the tough Xmas fixture pile-up!
  2. I think Anglian manufacture their own system. Not sure if it is any good but I had them around for a quote and they were shocking. Bad prices and pushy salesman. Local firms will install market systems like Rehau or Kommerling. Generally those are very good and the prices are all quite similar. I'd advise against the b&q type windows from the day shops though, cheap and not so cheerful. We use Rehau all the time for our plastic windows and they are good.
  3. Spot on. Every "generation" thinks they are getting a worse deal that before and these sorts of articles provide nothing more than, at best, a dampening of the spirits and at worst an addition to the long list of 3rd party justification for an individuals personal failings. I see the article was written by Suzanne Moore - no stranger to controversy. Interestingly her wiki entry states she has 3 kids by 3 different fathers and that they "were intimidated by traveling outside London, because the UK appeared so 'white'." Right-ho. So no agenda there then. Germaine Greer was quite complementary too!
  4. Probably the reason they went pop in the first place - too cheap. I was suprised to see that when Denizen went into administration the project was deemed to be 75% complete, which indicates they were probably paid 75% of the total value, but from the photos that were taken at the time the gates closed on the build, it seems it was far from that %age complete.
  5. Got to be a new avatar, surely.
  6. About a monkey a-piece on presents and booze/grub with the in laws descending on Chez K for two days. Other than that, nothing, unless the tinsels has perished in the loft during the year. Always out at others on NYE and NYD, so that's sorted.
  7. I'm sure it will be a thoroughly delightful tome. It must be riveting stuff, describing the catching of the 9.35 to Manchester to take a photo of a solicitor (along with crossroad moments like choosing between the ham or cheese sandwich from the buffet trolley) or taking the pony and trap on the cross-channel to Belgium to take another photo of a man working at a fruit and veg stall. And the climatic end as the pony and trap makes it's way down the 275, its driver wiping a tear away from his eye as he realises a dream that his quest is finally over. Meanwhile, during the 2 months spent on this crusade, his missus has shacked up with the rag-and-bone man and that's why he slings the sticker album into the briny. Well, that's what i am expecting, but it's sure to be on my christmas list.
  8. It looks a little bit like a flange, but i do know that if you look at the rear of the Lion and Lamb sculpture in Farnham, it looks a lot like a knob, replete with pubes and bell end.
  9. A Doctor I knew told a story of an aging Gent who came into A&E claiming he has the plastic top from a can of deodorant stuck up his kyber. He explained that is was after "playing games with his wife" and that he couldn't get it out, although it was only "just inside". The Doctor said (although i do not know if it is true) that he asked the mush to bend over and started searching for the cap and inserted his fingers into the fellas anus. After a while of not being able to feel anything he could see that the bloke was moving around and squealing, before realising that that the old boy was banging one out :poundit:and didn't actually have anything up his dirtbox! Don't know it is true, but it had me laughing in the pub nonetheless. Also, a Nurse I was seeing at the time told a story of a bird who was being frigged off by her boyfriend who was using a beer bottle, which splintered inside her ! ****ing ouch! And a old boy came in with the stalk of a stinging nettle shoved down his japs, right into his bladder as he thought the stings would give him a fun sensation. Some weird bug gers out there.
  10. Probably caught banging one out on the Tube.
  11. England game doesn't suit saints boys. JRod prob subbed half time. Adam should see out the game. He is better and showed some nice link play with Rooney. Moyes is probably getting his chequebook out.
  12. Not a good start for his new column. Hope he get some divine inspiration before coming up with the next.
  13. I like the cut of the fellas jib. Good piece. Thanks for posting.
  14. Really good. Crikey, Liz Taylor was crumpet!
  15. Well done lads, thoroughly deserved. Also they will be well up for saturday (not that they wouldn't have been) but there should be an extra spring in their step.
  16. So how will we cope in any European competition then? Even the "nailed on" 4th place that our high pressing game will undoubtedly reward us with at the end of the season (or so the forum guru's will have us believe).
  17. If our first team need a rest after every Saturday game then they are not going to get very far in any European football competition are they, the poor loves. Oh dear, there is a flaw in the masterplan! If a modern day footballer cannot play 2 games a week all season, then he should have a serious look at himself, even if he does play in a super-dooper high pressing game on a Saturday.
  18. They appear to be focusing on solar thermal as their main business now, so may be giving plain domestic boilers the old look away. Vailliant are ok and the ecotec is a decent boiler, but i had one fitted and it was temperemental (fans kept sticking) but generally good. Just a pointer though, get the fitting cock on as mine was in a kitchen cupboard that didn't have enough space around it for servicing and the Vailiant engineer refused to service it as there wasn't enough room around it (only by about 20mm on both sides!) Back to the OP, what make of boiler have you got? Personally i'd get a second opinion as BG will say anything to get some business. They quoted me 4k for a boiler replacement! Got it done for £800 in the end (about 3 years ago) including the boiler.
  19. Just doing my own extension of a similar nature by the sounds of it. Expect to pay between 20k and 30k depending on Kitchen selection. From my experience i can offer the followig advice if you want; Go for a pre-app planning meeting at the Councils place in Guildhall sq. You meet a planner who can advise, FOC, if you need PP. I paid them 30 quid for a confirmation letter that mine was within PD rights (for later if selling). General advice can be found on the Planning Portal website - http://www.planningportal.gov.uk Consider party wall agreements with neighbours if digging within 3m of their foundations. - Can take a long time. Get a Structural Engineer to do your structural calcs. Generally cheaper than an Architect. You'll need them for Bldg reg approval and unless you've got loads of time, leave that up to the experts. I know a very good Engineer if you want. Consider private building control companies for B Reg approval - you dont have to go with Local Authority. Generally foundations will be dug and the Inspector will confirm the depth dependant upon the ground conditions. Try for an account at the local builders merchants if you are doing it yourself - although B&Q trade card prices are OK. Websites like Celotex or Kingspan will offer you approx u Value calcs for floors, walls and roofs. If you are going flat or shallow pitch, go for a warm roof. Shop around. Specialists like SIG will be better on insulation than Travis Perkins for instance. Thermalite blocks are on a horrendous lead in at the moment - 10- 12 weeks generally and this is likely to last well into next year, so be aware of this. roof tiles will be next as housebuilding picks up and soaks up all available materials. HTH.
  20. Bletch, medallions are sooo passe. Gold soverign rings however.......
  21. Seems fair enough to me. Nasty, aggresive and racist. Lock them up I say and glad they got the football banning order too. It seems it wasn't just for the song, but also for aggresive anti social behaviour. They may have had previous convictions which would influence the sentence. Better off inside and hopefully they will think twice before being such nasty little ***** again.
  22. Same here. Loads of it with an open neck shirt (with 2 top buttons undone), Sports Jacket, soft top motor and Sade on the stereo. I am Ken Masters.
  23. Gertrude Sanchez. It's a winner.
  24. We'd be silly not to compete in the Europa league. Some cracking away days would be had.

Lallana has had an excellent start to this season, but was nowhere near this current level of performance last season, when this thread was entirely relevant. But well done you for dragging up a thread in that tired "oh I told you so" way, even if it Just based on a few decent games. Oh hang on, you didn't even post on it in the first place, even better.
