Don't think it's limited to Latvians. It appears as though most Eastern Europeans are racist mofo's according to pap. Something i was unaware of, but am now gladly informed of, albeit based upon sweeping generalisation and one minor incident of flat sharing, which of course is firm evidence to me.

Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"
Special K replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
So, anybody know if Leadbitter are back on site yet? I can only imagine it is a very tricky "specification issue" to resolve if they haven't been working for a couple of weeks! Or should "specification" be replaced with "payment"? -

If it's a construction dispute it will either go to Adjudication or Arbitration (unusal these days) or referred to the Technology & Construction Court if it's found that adjudication is not covered as an agreed form of dispute resolution. Cases will eventually come into the public domain (although you have to know where to look), but generally only after decision, when everyone has fallen out big time. But these things have a habit of being resolved before judgement although they wouldn't be "hidden" either. -
Roals, 23-2 after 4. Adams just gone for a duck.

Exactly what i thought. If it's pointing of the parapet wall that's needed, you need a brickie and not a roofer, if it needs lead flashings, then get a leadman in.

I'm with you on this. Redknapp was a t**t first time around, never wanted it here, always referred to the club in the 3rd person when he was in charge (no "we" always "they") and a tactical numpty when the pressure was on. He only moved here to get back at Mandick and soon as he smelt the fish's arsehole was shyting out money again, was down there quicker than a rat up a drainpipe. He can f**k off and stay in sandbanks doing his GCSE english course and fiddling his tax return.

Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
Special K replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I suspect he's still getting to grips with being a new dad and all that goes with it, including a lack of sleep and wandering mind! Personally i wouldn't have him as a captain, but i would definitely keep him in the side as he provides some much needed guile to our forward play. But his decision making needs work and I still am not convinced he knows what his best position is. If GR is out for a number of weeks, his importance to the team will be more focused than before; he has a key role in our fortunes over the next 6 weeks, wherever NA decides to play him. -
We don't have a leader on the pitch. AL is not skipper material and the job should be given to SD or someone who has a voice. The decision making of forward players needs to be worked on, especially the wide players. RL apart, there are too many incorrect decisions being made. Substitutions are not working, but that can easily be rectified, although i guess NA hates to be told what to do! JF starting to look better all round & I like Yoshi's attitude and willingness to adapt - will be very important in the winter months. DF played better but will still get hammered by the likes of Lennon in future games. Unfortunate with injuries yesterday, but i sense the defence (when fully fit and first choice) is starting to find their feet. I know majority won't agree, but we have faced some quality opposition so far and I sense their positioning yesterday was better than it has been. For me, the midfield revolves around MS. SD is tidy, but nothing special. MS is some player in this league and we will do well to hold onto him in January. AL is too ineffective at the mo' and needs a bit of a lift and not the burden of captaincy. Up front we don't know our best formation. RL needs to be central to what's going on. His partnership with GR is crucial to how we perform this season. JR needs to either adapt to wide play or get stronger, but he doesn't suit the current formation. JP has been good this season and gives defences plenty to think about. If he can just evaluate a little better and sort out his final ball, he will be very useful this season. Overall not too disappointed. Some good signs and some things to work on. I think some simple changes will make a lot of difference. All imho of course.

SKY, ESPN December and early January Fixtures released
Special K replied to southamptonbairn's topic in The Saints
Obviously not, but they f***ing love the Arse. However i am comforted as I'm sure some of the more sensitive members of the forum are currently constructing letters and emails of complaint to ESPN to say how jolly annoyed they are at our lack of tv coverage on this channel. -
Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"

Leadbitter aren't a "big" contractor (they'd fall into the SME bracket), but a reasonably sized regional firm, owned wholly by a huge european company. The trade press said they'd suffered some financial difficulty a few years ago - hence the takeover. They've been pretty busy recently winning work, allegedly on tight to negative margins, but this is hardly unusual in the current climate. Regarding the Architect, as DG said the Architect is usually novated over to the contractor under a D&B contract as they Contractor takes the risk for the design. If it is a D&B contract I suspect there is the usual conflict between Employers Requirements and Contractors Proposals and nobody wants to pay. -

Interesting! If the site is on lock down then there must be a potentially serious problem. Leadbitters are wholly owned by Bouygues, a huge French Contractor (who also own Warings) so i cannot imagine that they have any financial problems and they would be able to meet their obligations. Wonder what the issue is? I know NC had a little spat with another Contractor (Farnrise) who were originally to build the previously designed scheme some time ago, so he no stranger to dispute! -

Firstly there is no such thing as a "penalty" under construction contracts; it is a common misconception. There are damages, (Liquidated Damages under current JCT contracts) which are a pre determined estimate of likely actual loss suffered due to time delays on a scheme, and they only apply to a Client. If a Contractor is delayed for reasons attributable to the Client, then he is theoretically entitled to an EOT and associated Loss and Expense incurred due to that delay. Also, it is highly unlikely that either party will invoke their rights under the contract for a stoppage on site. Generally, Contractors do so because they haven't been paid and Clients do it because the Contractor isn't proceeding regularly and diligently with the works. Works can stop due to the discovery of endangered wildlife or a find of historical interest for instance, but this is not very common. In my experience, works do not stop on site unless there is a reasonable problem. Specfication issues, as this is being touted as, are resolved constantly as work progresses. It is the job of the Client and the Contractor to foresee issues and resolve them in time for construction works to progress as programmed. It will depend upon the form of contract of course, but i would be suprised if the whole design team has not foreseen a specification issue that causes works to come to a halt. I reckon there is likely to be something more and it will be interesting to see if anything comes out. -
FourFourTwo's 'Name your club's best goal ever'
Special K replied to Crazy Diamond's topic in The Saints
I loved Ekelunds goal vs Coventry away ('94) i think it was, two 1-2's i think with that old crab Magilton, before firing into the bottom right. Total football. -
I don't think it's offence, more like it's the same old comparison peddled out by all the pundits. It's almost like if one says it, the others follow suit, surely it wouldn't hurt for one of them to have an original thought.

It's the thighs that do it for me too. Remember the Bond film where Famke Jannsen tries to crush Bonds napper with her thighs, well i have a slightly less violent image of the lucious Pendleton with my bacon. Whilst we are on the subject of hornbag cyclists, i'd also like to give a shout out for Lizzie Armistead. Overlooked, but scrubs up very well. http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/Pk8C2oqVHDh/Team+Great+Britain+gold+medalists+Dani+King/8AfaYSzprX2/Lizzie+Armitstead

Agree with this 100%.

Why worry? Let's face it, two straight promotions hasn't given time for the squad to evolve into a maybe more combative one, but no matter. We are in the PL, ahead of schedule and the manager and players will learn a lot about being there. Wouldn't be suprised if we went down this year, only to come back stronger and more tactically aware, still within this supposed 5 year plan. Enjoy this season, don't get on the players backs, enjoy the away trips and create a fortress at home.

Quite young too. real passion for the work and a great name too. RIP.

Which one of them would win in a proper scrap? I reckon Tiss has a haymaker of a right hand, although he'd be slow and cumbersome on his feet. Cortese, for my money, would be quicker, lighter and may have a decent jab to wear Le God down. I'd expect Cortese to have the odd dirty trick up his sleeve too (kick to the shins, jab in the eye, that sort of thing), but with Tiss expert penalty taking pedigree, i reckon he'd boot NC square in the bollo's to win the fight. Tiss all the way. Let's get ready to rumble....

Oh, the pain! Same list as me. The Villa game is the only game i have left a ground early. There was a horrible certainty about that one. And i still hold a real sense of injustice over the way we went out of the semi in '84 (detest Everton to this day).

I like reading what vickery has to write, but i seem to recall he bigged up Delgado as the next big thing and also said Jhon Viafara would cut up the prem when he signed for the skates, so he doesn't always get it right!

Seems an odd choice to me. Lansley needed replacing, but Hunt seems spectacularly ill equipped for such a demanding post.

Archbishop Tutu says Blair and Bush should be tried as war criminals

Deary me, what an odd little fellow you are. You ad hominem argument is strange, but not to worry, it's de rigueur on this board. -

Blair and Labour were voted back in despite the aftermath of Hutton, a lack of WMD and thousands of articles and protests questioning the validity of invasion. Blair lied to Parliament, by 2005 it was pretty certain he had, yet he still maintained a healthy vote from labour voters. Obviously the welfare of Iraqi children was not seen as high on the list of priorities as say, a ban on fox hunting. I remember post 9/11 very well, thanks. And i would argue what happened in Srebrenica, Vukovar and Kosovo a decade earlier instilled the term War Criminal into the common psyche.
