  1. Lovely course Mick. Played about half a dozen times although not that recently. I believe the owners are/were something to do with a Japanese business or something where lot's of them play, so it's a well designed, beautiful course. Some interesting par 3's with elevated tees. Real mixture really, quite up and down, with some long 4's too. You'll enjoy it.
  2. Twas / Is the Crown and Anchor that is by the Bus Station. The Ship is up Wales Street, towards Winnall Industrial Estate. You pass the Willow Tree on the way, which is also an alright pub. The India was further towards town from the Bus Station, but was indeed run by a skate.
  3. Perhaps she knew McCartney was about to perform.
  4. Not at all. Don't p*** your pants just yet.
  5. Black Boy is a good pub and worth the short walk from the City. The Bishop on the Bridge is worth popping in on the way back/there especially if you can get a seat in the garden by the river. Always liked the White Swan and the Railway. The Eclipse is a nice little pub too. The Royal Oak, just off the high street is good. The William Walker (used to be the old Market Inn) is just about passable. The Wykeham Arms and the Green Man are very good though.
  6. But that's not what you said though was it. You said the commentators know nothing about road racing. Well the commentators were Chris Boardman and Hugh Porter, who, i'll be willing to bet, know a **** of a lot more about road racing than you.
  7. Superb stuff. Loved it, although Macca now has a voice like a pigeons fart. Camera angles were a bit skew too, too many close ups of people instead of the overall feel. But fantastic feat nonetheless. Think the Beeb could have done a better job though.
  8. Eh? The topic is the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, yet you veer off, wittering on about Big Brother in some inane way. I'll tell you if what i thinkabout the finances when the games are over (if you really want to know) and i couldn't give a flying f*** about corporate sponsorship. Are you happy now? Probably not, but do try to enjoy the thing, it is very likely to be very good.
  9. To laugh or to post about laughing?
  10. Strange really, as he is a terrific player.
  11. What are you wittering on about? Big Brother? WTF? Keep on topic please, we are posting about the Olympics. And you've got tickets too, you jammy sod, but still whining on. I'd take a packed lunch if I were you, i'm sure you'll be able to shake your fist at the golden arches as you pass them and make a worthwhile statement. But don't abuse the Archers though, they are mustard with their aims.
  12. Sounds like you've already made up your mind about it before it's even started. The torch relay was a great success and was well supported. We have yet to see the opening ceremony and i wonder whether you've actually been put out by any increased security measures at all. But don't let that put you off.
  13. The only problem i can see is having to ditch some work in favour of watching some of the events. Might have to start work very early!
  14. How you doin' Whitey, alright?
  15. I predict there will be a miserable bunch of c**** who complain about everything to do with the Olympics from the opening ceremony to the tired old lines of "too much sport on TV". Well, do us all a favour then and f*** off abroad for the next few weeks.
  16. Not my nipper, but a good mate of mine has his teenager with the Bournemouth academy. He says it is an excellent environment in which his youngster can learn. They are quite strict, but he says that's a good thing. On the subject of bad parents, they are nothing new. I remember playing for Olivers Battery Gunners in the old Eastleigh and District Tyro league in the late 70's and early 80's. Most parents were ok, but there were some tasty moments between oppo dads back then. Funnily enough i dug out an old cup final programme a few months ago, from 1980 (i think) which had photo's of all the competing teams. It wsa at the old Pirelli ground and was a day of cup finals for all the age groups. Anyone on the board play around then? We lost 4 - 2 to Hedge End Rangers (i think) .
  17. If the Government are that concerned about VAT for small traders, then they should lower the threshold. Stupid idea imho anyway. There is nothing wrong with employing someone who is not registered for VAT and it does make the job cheaper. And there are a load of people who do odd jobs for cash and dont declare it, but i see nothing wrong with this if it is just for a bit of extra cash. My nan gets her gardening done by a fella who she pays £10 to. He does a few gardens in the street and works about 10 hours a week, so he'd probably earn well below the IT threshold anyway and there's no way he'd be registered for VAT, so no-one misses out. Gauke is a prize ***t and in this case, Labour are right to say HM Govnt should be clamping down on corporate tax avoidance, althugh this is something they failed miserably on themselves.
  18. Well played Marsdinho!
  19. I think we will hold our own against the poor teams. Be in with a shout against the mid table teams and get hammered by the top teams. Lower mid table finish i reckon. But who knows, we could be so fired up against Citeh that JRod bangs in a hatrick within the first 15 minutes and we never look back for the next nine months - here's hoping!
  20. I'm sure fans of all the other clubs will have far more interesting things to think about. And pundits too.
  21. I like Brighton. As someone else said, they've had it tough for a good few years, but have worked hard to get where they are and good luck to them. Some of their fans are alright too. Reading are another club who have battled away before a big money owner came in, but at least they appear to have done things the right way. And all the Reading fans i've met have been fine.
  22. Gaydamark was wanted for questioning over illeagal arms dealings to Angola. Antonov was arrested for financial irregualrities. These are facts Mush, whereas this numbnut speculates in the most heinous manner. Perhaps you need to reappraise yourself of the difference.
  23. Because there is a line and irrespective of what medium is used, certain standards should be upheld and there needs to be consequences for this sort of thing. IIRC there was some little scrote who got a few days in the big house for tweeting some racist filth about Muamba (i think). This is on a par with that and shouldn't be tolerated.
