  1. Did you vote Labour in 2005 to get Blair re-elected to continue his war crimes? Most Labour voters in 2005 seemed to think that war crimes and dead Iraqi babies were less of an issue than proposed tory tax cuts, but hey-ho it's easy to be wise after the event.
  2. He's a pundit and is required to be a bit controversial. No harm in that, except if it's taken all too seriously. And i am sure Cortese has a thick enough skin to cope with the odd lukewarm jibe now and again. It's not an anti-NC vendetta, that's just pant pi**ing nonsense in the extreme.
  3. He was mustard yesterday. Good performance and not afraid to have a good go.
  4. Glad to see the Keyboard Massive are still well 'ard and up to PL standard. Proper nawty geezers, one and all.
  5. The back line looked nervous yesterday and acted like they expected to be beaten late on. Davis is a good shot stopper, but not that good as a defence organiser and doesn't inspire too much confidence with some poor distribution. Poor old Foxy tried really hard but was caught out too often and Jose just looks, well, nervous. But the defensive performances against City and Utd have been very good generally and we wont face too many other forward lines with as much threat as those two. We will have more luck and will build confidence in forthcoming games, so not too worried about the start, bearing in mind the fixtures. However, we will have Davis, Fox and Fonte on the pitch for the next few months, barring injury, so to all the moaners, please resist the urge to give them grief on matchday, instead get behind them. It looks like they may struggle at times, but they're still the first choice and were integral to the team that got us to the PL and gave some the chance to whinge about how they are not good enough! All these lads (along with the manager) are learning about the PL, so we need to be behind them, not on their backs.
  6. When i was born i had no eyelids. The Doctor circumcised me and used the skin to make me some eyelids. I'm not cock eyed, but i do have some foresight.
  7. Ramirez is already my favourite for replacing Guly as Club Scapegoat.
  8. In addition to some of the above, Pahars equaliser v Blackburn at the Dell (99 I think?). That was good.
  9. Perhaps "fanatic" is the wrong word, but "condescending arse" might be an appropriate substitute?
  10. I can see a CB being signed right at the last minute and probably a brit too.
  11. If more people got laid more often, the world would be a much more chilled out place.
  12. I didn't really have a question, my post was primarily a rant. But I am perplexed as to why an esteemed rag such as the ST would give this penis a column when there are some fine sports journo's around who could fill up the inches with half decent copy, as opposed to rent-a-***t and his inane ramblings.
  13. He's not a front man, but when he plays wide he's much better. Thought he did well today when we started to play 20 yards further up the pitch. Can't understand why he's singled out? Is it because he's a scapegoat?
  14. In the Times today says he "..cannot see the point of Southampton as either a city or a club and their demise would give those poor blighters at Fratton Park something to laugh about for a while." Then says by his reckoning, Southampton were 9th best club in last years championship, calling us "lumberingly unconvincing" Always thought he was a class A ***t. Just confirmed again and with a shocking lack of football knowledge to boot. So why the Times give gobshytes like this column inches in the Sports section is beyond me? and i notice he hasn't put his email contact at the column end. Prize C***. Rant over (feel better now). Probably a bit of Pre Match Tension.
  15. WTF is wrong with Holloway wanting to keep his players? Fair enough, i'd expect NA to do the same. He doesn't want to lose Phillips and I cannot understand the vitriol towards him on this thread? Same posters will be spanking themselves senseless when we sell Shaw to one of the big boys next summer.
  16. Monday to Thursday, nothing, couple of beers and maybe a glass of wine on a friday, not much on a saturday (generally too knackered) unless i go out (pretty rare these days). Sunday is my worst/best day for booze. I do all the cooking on a weekend and we always have a decent family meal on a Sunday late afternoon, so i'm generally in a merlot haze from 3 o'clock, might see off a couple of bottles.
  17. We'll get hammered by the top PL teams, cause an upset or two with the middle group of teams and do OK against the bottom teams. Survival has to be the aim and 17th or above would be excellent.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19147279 Suprised by Houvenahgel and her attitude. How she can say that it was unjust to leave her out when the 3 selected broke the WR 3 times during the Games and won a Gold by a country mile is beyond me.
  19. Very true. It's the easy way out and that's why it's generally performed and justified by bad parents.
  20. I think she speaks without any real accent. But she is lucid, knowledgable and professional. Certainly one of the better presenters out there. The boy Line-aker has been fine and it's nice to hear from experienced athletes like Thorpe, Foster, Johnson, et al putting a bit of flesh on the bones. Always thought John Inverdale is one of the best presenters around, too. Glad they have confined that little jerk Hollins to the breakfast programme though and not got him involved in commentary / presenting of the events!
  21. They've got the right arse. Something to do with unfavourable weather conditions according to 5Live.
  22. I bet virtually all of them are ****s.
  23. He's a decent player with plenty to offer. Would have been useful cover. Will do well at Forest. good luck to him.
  24. East Horton isn't a bad course either, well, the one i played anyway, i think there are 2 courses. Not a patch on Old Thornes though.
