  1. Lived in Bristol when at Poly there. Went to a few games and found most fans to be ok, but Bristol has more than it's fair share of tools who'll have a pop at anyone. As someone else stated on this thread, town was a no-go on weekends. Glad the lads who got knocked around are ok.
  2. Really shocking news. I know you only see the media portrayal, but he seemed such a down to earth, likeable, talented guy, with everything going for him. Excellent player and a really good pro. RIP
  3. McInnes has had a very positive effect on them and they will undoubtedly push up the table. We have an average away record and are yet to play a number of the top teams in the league away. But, like you, I thought this wasn't overly unexpected.
  4. They are lending, just not to SME's who need it most. QE helped them repair their balance sheets, but uncertainty and exposure in the eurozone restricts long term plans. Mix that with draconian lending criteria and there is little hope for moving forward. But this really only applies to the "high st" banks. There are others who are freeing up a bit, so it's not all bad, but seeking out the best deals is still very tough. Profits are falling anyway, so a reduction in CT wouldn't really work, only serve to strengthen the market share of those who ride roughshod over the competition anyway (i.e multinationals) not a good move as it would force SME's further into the ****, decreasing competition.
  5. Technological advances and the desire to have the latest gizmo's and gadgets will always be of more concern to the general population than concerns about the use of resources.
  6. I think the perp is looking at a stretch(er) in the tank. I doubt he'll make bail unless he has a strong bond.
  7. There's no foundation to this story.
  8. Tragedy. Let's hope he'll be stayin' alive.
  9. Did he really? On a football forum? For complete strangers to read? One can only assume this is a desperate cry for help. I feel quite bad for being so dismissive of that now.
  10. Like a menacing, left-wing Darth Vader. I think you are right, i can feel the fingers of rightous justice feverishly composing the next witty riposte and supreme put down. Feck, i'm done for.....
  11. I hardly think someone with such a well developed sense of self importance would submit to the analysis of a shrink? But i think he needs to get the penis extension done, just to deal with those self esteem issues that drive his overpowering desire to condescension, the poor love.
  12. Now now Verbal, there's no need to be so fatuous. You really must learn to calm down and stop being so noxious. It isn't good for your image, petty sniping and all.
  13. I'm sure i saw it listed on ebay the other day.
  14. Who is the first name in your little black book, when the revolution comes, like?
  15. The fellas in the photo on the OP don't look like they're doing much work. Although the one at the front looks like he might be considering applying for a part time job over Xmas as one of Santa's elves. Needs a different colour hat though.
  16. Bloody Cash Converters. I knew they were bad news.
  17. http://youtu.be/k5CltsEN8DQ Not saying who.
  18. *lolling at incoming response from Verbal*
  19. http://www.consumerunits-southampton.co.uk/#!blog_Commercial-electrician-Southampton_59909 Hamster, i had this fella do some work on my house a few years ago and he was a good guy, clean, tidy, efficient and cheap. May be worth a shout.
  20. Why is it heartbreaking? I would have thought it more "heartwarming". OK, if he'd tripped over the present in the hallway and gouged his little eye out and split his head open in the process, then struggled to his parents room with the remains of the present, his little brains tumbling out of his split head as he manages to finally give them the gift before departing this mortal coil, then i could understand the description of him raising his last feeble smile as heartbreaking? But it's a happy advert, i think?
  21. It's an OK advert, but i couldn't imagine anyone crying over it? Do they really? Cripes! If so, he's right - we are doomed.
  22. Good advert. Morissey mainstream at Christmas. What next, a DFS advert?
  23. 'Tis now called Upper Shirley High and is co-ed. So I guess a weedkiller fanny would be in order, just to even things up.
  24. Yep.
  25. This thread is great. It's just like being back in the playground. Of Junior School.
