  1. lol. I had a rotten headache, aches and pains and was really lethargic last week so i may have had it, although i didn't have the fever and the cold is just starting t come in today. Whether it's swine flu or not, it wasn't too bad, but enough to lay me low for a few days.
  2. How many of those hours do you spend tossing it off on an internet chat forum?
  3. Could also be "growing pains" Baj. Occasionally my 7 year old complains of pain, especially in his legs, when he seems to be on the verge of a growth spurt. Starangely enough he sometimes complains of pains in his body when he starts pushing though some adult teeth. I make him sound like a little whinger, but he's not at all, his old man takes that title
  4. Jesus, what a sad old bint letting the newspapers in on that. I reckon it's a load of old pony anyway, there's no way she's been on the bench for that long. And if she has, the poor matey who sticks his hand down her knickers to feed the horse had better be prepared to have his fingers mauled by that ravenous flange.
  5. He's got a good team around him and i think they'll take a few more stages yet. I'd like to think he'll get to Paris, but can't see him lasting the climbs.
  6. The extraction doesn't really matter, it's the burning of them that does For me it comes back to starting points. I don't believe there is a status quo, a defining natural balance so that all species currently alive will remain, as they are, for eternity. The earth, it's climate and it's inhabitants are constantly changing and it has always been thus. I find too much of the current hysteria on climate change to be more about those scared of change than anything else.
  7. Resources for what? Has the earth "produced" these resources for any purpose at all? No. Are we nicking them from anything else? No. They have been utilised by us to make our lives better, progress if you will, from hairy apes scratching each others arses to intelligent humans. And before anyone whinges on about hardwoods, deforestation, etc, the earth has performed far more extinction events of it's own than we will ever perform or will happen within the next "apocalyptic" 50 years or so that any ****-scared tree hugger will have us believe is all we have left before we fry to death.
  8. I know this is a "my mate's dog" type story, but without giving too much away i work with a guy who is good mates with David Jones. He says the Swiss group are very much real but after Pinnacle got exclusivity, wasn't sure if they were still interested. Apparently they were very professional. That's the last i heard if it is any use. Let's hope they still are interested.

  10. I agree. "Keyboard" hardliners with a penchant for Mail-esque hyperbole against fact-forgetful bleeding-heart liberals with ineffectual "moral arguments" and a pathetic line in petty name calling.
  11. I'm sure there are some cold hearted people out there who may suggest that, whilst obvioulsy frightening, stories like these only help to raise the immediate profile of an individual, especially when they have a wedding coming up this summer and want to get the best deal they can from the OK!, Hello, Heat, etc mags out there.

    Sad story

Very sad to read, but also admirable and humbling for the way the fella appeared to confront his problems. RIP. Last year i learned of 3 from my school year who passed away from cancer.
  13. I can empathise with that. I didn't mean to infer your claim wasn't genuine as i don't know anything about your injury other than what was posted up. But is it really wrong of them to assume your condition was nothing more than a sprain? My back pain was, according to my GP, a muscle pull that was easily treated with pain killers and rest. Wrong, it is caused by a degeneration of my discs which will require surgery. However, i'm not about to sue my GP for his first diagnosis. I went in with a bit of back pain and he gave me advice and treatment based upon what (i would imagine) the majority of back pain is caused by. It took a bit of badgering to get a referral, but that's just the way it works. The cause of my problem is not the NHS or it's employees, but my back.
  14. Firstly, I think you should have had insurance against getting injured whilst playing football. Also, the assumption is that the first diagnosis is the one that should be complete and correct. I don't agree with this. The likelihood was that you had just sprained your knee and the advice given sounds like it could be considered reasonable. Of course it is also dependant upon information given to the nhs staff as well. It sounds like you were referred when your condition deteriorated after seeming to get better. Maybe playing on it some more in the intervening time caused more damage? I hope your knee gets better and you can resume playing football, but should this not be the aim instead of adding to an already overburdened system full of chancers and shysters who do dilute and prolongate the whole process for genuine claimants?
  15. Unless they are the Pathetic Sharks, from Viz comic fame.
  16. #102 looks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, but i suspect she's had some butter melt somewhere to get what she's got hold of into where it is.
  17. As i'm from Geordie stock, i'm laffing out loud at the toon being relegated, if only because i've wound it into the family members who are ST holders at SJP. It's just a shame we couldn't stay in the division.Newcastle are a decent club with (generally) good fans and they will be a big club in the second div. That league is looking a bastard to get out of next season. Shame we can't have a decent north east away day oot on the toot.
  18. LOLedy!!
  19. Took the kids to the family day and they loved it. Well done to the organisers for their sterling work in getting it organised.
  20. This post is a load of old pony, but the most incredible thing is that SRS tries to bestow "legend" status upon old Claus Lukewarm. FFS, that is stretching it a bit. He was a half decent centre back at best and he's now confirmed he's better at being a ****head than he was a defender.
  21. If anyone expects the main creditors to back off and not pursue getting as much as they can whilst there are deals "on the table", then they are mistaken. They will be under a lot of pressure to get the best they can; it's the natural course of events. The cat and mouse 11th hour games have begun. I'm watching with interest.
  22. I'm off to Newbury tomorrow (15th). Any tipsters got a decent nudge for the meet?
  23. Didn't Coppell say he was going to retire from football management? I think he made a promise to friends and family he would (i recall seeing an interview with him when he said this). If he's involved again i suspect it will be letting his sparkling personality loose on an already oversubscribed panel of ex-footballers who parade themselves as pundits (MLT aside of course).
  24. Under Souness, when he paired him with Doddsy in midfield i think.
