  1. Still think Armstrong is very underrated and could do a job there he’s always been played in more attacking positions for us but with Celtic box to box mf was his strongest position and he has a decent engine decent pace can beat players and also is good at arriving in the box late and scoring.. me personally I actually think he would be a upgrade on jwp but don’t seem like Ralph agrees
  2. Who do you lose to accommodate him ings has simply done a lot more in less time this season.. even if we play 4222 Ralph’s love for jwp will prob see the likes of boufal even maybe drop out to fit in jwp and redders?
  3. All in all though ings proably deserves to start over Adams at the moment boufal redmond djenepo need to be in as much as possible
  4. I’m interested to see what danso can do at cb.. has a bit of pace at least which is a big difference from the lumbering Vestergaard.. the main issue with danso so far is he seems to be a bit indecisive and take far too long on the ball to decide what he’s gonna do next and in that time someone is pressing him.. but maybe this is just because he’s been out of position I’m keen to give him a go though.. can’t be much worse then jv can he
  5. Thought there were some good performances along with the calamity defending that cost us.. Cedric I think was fantastic once he was switched back to the right, tenacious and full of energy better performance then anything I’ve seen from valery. Boufal also done some nice stuff had a couple of tricks that didn’t work in first half but was beating players nicely and getting decent shots off from just outside the box. Romeau probably looking our best midfielder of late was also immense again at breaking up play.. weird game really bosses most of it but end up losing 3-1 last goal was laughable. Major disappointments were Vestergaard who just is so uncomfortable in possession and also danso looked completely lost on the right he was nervous took ages dwelling on the ball and looked completely uncomfortable.. not sure what was the point in having Cedric on left and danso on the right after danso done quite well on the left last time bar the sending off ???
  6. I think maybe him signing a new deal would be down to timing, if we were to offer him one now whilst his jumping to a better club options are not that great hence him still being here, I think he would consider it.. but if we leave it and let him showcase his ability whilst not making a move other clubs could become interested and then it could materialise like you say.
  7. All three of boufal Adams and djenepo were great yesterday. Nice to see us attacking with such pace and flair. Regarding the djenepo/ mane comparisons gotta say djenepo is starting hotter then mane did for us.. I was expecting him to be a bit blistering pace and raw, but so far his finishing has been ace the Brighton strike was a great finish.. I’ve said it before but I still think boufal and djenepo have much higher ceilings then redmond. And could be our next two huge players.. hope we give boufal a contract extension personally, if he lights it up this season and we don’t we might lose him in a bad deal.. Got a horrible feeling when redmond comes back we will prob end up with these two on the bench though, hope Ralph has more sense
  8. Honestly I think to be fair ings has been a lot better then Adams so far this season, better pressing and closing down which resulted in the goal he closed down the keeper vs Liverpool,, better at creating chances for himself, better link up play eg, the work he did to help set away djenepo for his goal... all Adams has really done for me is missed a couple of chances created for him which should of hit the target.. I don’t think he has been superior to ings so far .
  9. Kinda feel like we need to be carefull with the contract situation for boufal.. if he’s showing good signs of becoming a regular and kicking on might be wise to get him tied down pretty early. Would be frustrating if he goes on to have a blinding season and then we are left in a bad position with a year remaining on his contract
  10. Probably also due to the hasenhuttl style, now we play on the counter when we win the ball he has space to run into .. last time Wheb bouf and redmond played under Pellegrino it was slow attack all opposition defence back made this harder to do.. can’t see why boufal couldn’t be great at the same
  11. It’s not like redmond ever is greedy makes bad decisions or loses the ball when trying to beat a man, kinda crazy the way he escapes any criticism these days when making these mistakes but boufals are highlighted. Still think one massive difference is boufal can beat players much easier whilst redmond looks best when picking up the ball in pockets of space which doesn’t really involve beating a man so much
  12. Whilst I don’t want redmond hurt.. it’s kinda exciting times to see what boufal and djenepo can do with starts now both have higher ceilings then redders anyway.. I wouldn’t worry too much
  13. Quite like this side but would prefer hojbjerg in the centre to try keep Pogba more quiet,, he might have to much athleticism for jwp and Romeau.. I’d also play Ings over Adams atm just think Ings has offered more overall better closing down better build up play creating more his own chances and for others, Adams has been fairly anonymous bar missing couple of odd chances
  14. Boufal djenepo and redmond in same team is exciting . Would have liked to see Adams get a run as striker though.. kinda feel like he’s in danger of dropping to the bench soon and maybe deservedly so atm.. Ings has been the brighter of the two but early days
  15. Most wanting to our money back is just standard saints web really, any player out of the first 11 automatically becomes crap even if people originally rated them super high like Gaston gabbiadini lemina etc the list goes on manager must know best.. As for last years player of the season McCarthy had the same accolades the year before but he’s apperently crap too now he’s out of the side, funny that.. it Was probably more of a case of redmond being our only half decent attacking option last year who had a unchallenged run in the side as the only real creative outlet with a bit of pace.
  16. It’s been a long time since he’s had 90 minutes to be able to say this, last time he was getting starts all of our attack was struggling redmond likewise. But creatively i don’t think there’s anyone in our side more likely to be able to change a game then him, one bit of brilliance can often be the difference and this is what he can offer
  17. Tbh I think boufal is vastly better then redmond and it’s nothing new he always has been, but for some reason found himself out of favour Hughes didn’t help,, boufal can beat players with ease,, redmond actually isn’t that good at going past his man but he looks good when there’s plenty of space and he can carry the ball rapidly up the pitch like he did a couple of times Saturday..but overall boufal can do the hard things with ease and can be much more creative because he has that X factor to to make things happen
  18. thats why I keep banging on about boufal, such a talent, goes past players like they are not there. every time he got the ball he beat players and caused a ton of problems. and got the nice assist for Redmond too.. its really time though to stop wasting our most talented player and get him starting
  19. Thought he made a big impact on Saturday that coincided with our late flourish,, was closing down and winning ball back and plenty of energy.. actually think he could be a proper player for us, but it’s hard to see him getting much time with jwp and hojbjerg being two of Ralph’s favourites
  20. Looks good to me it fits most of our good players into the side and could also help us to stop getting dominated in the centre of the park. I’m a bit worried that Ralph will try to shoe horn jwp in anywhere he can even in the two man mid field which could be along side hojbjerg next time and with a already weak defence our midfield needs some protection really
  21. Sounds good but any idea on price? Kinda makes me wonder what’s in this for Augsburg ?? If he’s great we get him for set fee and if he flops he goes back there why would they want this deal if he’s so highly rated ?
  22. Not saying we will do that just that in my opinion Ings would be the one that drops out more likely then Adams or redmond.... Anyway not sure what price has to do with it or why it’s mad ? Redmond Adams boufal could work just as good if not better then Adams Ings redmond as Adams is kinda being forced a bit wide in a three where boufal and redmond are more natural wide attackers
  23. Very happy he seems to be playing his way back in, although formation could be a bit tricky for him to fit into atm if we are sticking with the 3-4-3.. unless we drop Ings and play che central
  24. As much as I think Djenepo looks a very exciting signing, it would have probably made more sense to deal with Cb position before signing him..I mean we have redmond, boufal, sims Armstrong and possibly jwp or moi (if we ate feeling desperate ) that can play there. Feels a bit like when we signed Gunn over more needed positions last year.. it’s best to plug the holes first!
  25. Trouble is it’s like a game of snakes and ladders as soon as we start getting near the top of the board we are picked apart and back to square one again
