Jesus, what a bunch of officious dullards they really are.

haha! I like Gardos, he seems like a fairly intelligent defender who can only learn alongside Fonte. I mean, where did this level of Fonte come from?? Incredible! Fair play to him. I'm still concerned about the goalkeeper backup - hopefully they'll unearth some gem who is happy to be backup and is good enough to push Forster. Maybe that's Gazzaniga or Cropper now? I haven't seen either of them play this year so I can't comment, but I assume as they'd rather have Kelvin on the bench who must be rusty as hell (in match terms), that neither are stepping up?

Easy, a draw surely? We gain 2 points on City (we're not going to overtake them, but it's amusing all the same) and move 2 points further away from Arsenal. Preferably a 0-0 draw at that. Alas, it was too much to ask bloody 'triffic 'arry to beat Man Utd on Saturday though. Div.

Another dip in form? ********. We're closing the gap on Chelsea now ......

I get this. All the teams at the top keep winning, all the f**king time, it's relentless, you need to win every week, else you drop. Not like at the bottom when you're praying for a win against someone, anyone, then you get one and suddenly all your rivals have lost and you've crept back above them. There's no let up at the top, you keep winning otherwise you become midtable again.

Love this version of Alpine Saint

Jesus. Seriously? We're 3rd, at the end of January, we're scoring. Do you watch Pelle play? The guy is a creator as well as a scorer, but over the last month, he's had the attention of 2, sometimes 3 opposition players pulling, battering and stopping him. This does two things, firstly it means he less likely to score but still able to play a decent through ball/knock down and secondly, it opens up space for other players who don't have that attention to get in better scoring position. In my view. Worried? No.

Newcastle 1 - 2 Southampton Post Match euphoria
Patrick Bateman replied to SNSUN's topic in The Saints
Who cares, he's probably about 14. Great performance again today, absolutely loved it! -
Would be extremely surprised if we don't sign another goalie. But who? Who would want to come and want to be number 2 that is good enough?
-
Just looked at the table to laugh and I didn't realise Tranmere were that low down. What happened to them? It doesn't seem that long ago that Aldridge was in charge and they were contenders for promotion to the top flight.

Newcastle United vs Saints - Build up
Patrick Bateman replied to Ulrich van Gobbel's topic in The Saints
I actually thought that was an amusing thread, they have a decent sense of humour there! Not quite so up their own arses like most forums, including this one. -
And there will be the usual boring doom and gloom. Just wish people would enjoy the CURRENT season where we are doing well and stop worrying about who is going and who isn't, in the summer, at the end of the season.

When your face, or style ...doesn't fit the formation...
Patrick Bateman replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Hello Dave ... you're my wife now. -
Agreed - terrible game! Ipswich were awful, apart from Mings and we didn't need to get really get going. Long was probably in a higher gear, but Fonte still my MoTM.
-
This is so dull. Fonte easily man of the match - commanding, again!
-
I thought that too, didn't look quite right perhaps from the start!?
-
Why don't people just ignore it - who even reads the papers anyway?? Who cares what some fat dinlo says? I never have time to read them and I'm not bothered.

Schneiderlin: Southampton can 'shock the world'
Patrick Bateman replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Agreed. Last time we were being "bigged up", we went on a sh*t run and failed to beat Burnley, Sheff Utd and Villa. -
The OS is just awful anyway, STILL they persist with a user-unfriendly colour scheme of white text on black - it messes with your eyes and is well known to be poor UX. Even if they went for grey text on black, it'd be better, FFS

Both, "Saints double".

Gary Neville is exceptional as a pundit and no, I don't agree that he was slagging Saints off regards Morgan on Sunday; he was merely pointing out what all of us on this forum have already said in that he could be a starter in any of the Premier League teams. I actually think Carragher is getting better too and by that, I simply mean he doesn't have a bias towards Liverpool so much.

Okay, I'll stick my neck out ... if the luck goes with us (injuries etc.) ... 4th. I may well regret this post in May though ...

That's quite incredible!
