  1. I would love no sponsor, as per our 125th anniversary kit, OR, a charity. Saints Foundation perhaps? My job is about driving up incremental revenue, but for this it's one thing I think (with the improved TV deals) that Saints can be more romantic and give a bit back.
  2. I do think it's quite a lot, but to be honest, what isn't these days? You want two tickets to a good show in the West End ... £220+ Two tickets to something at the Mayflower ... £100ish Two cinema tickets cost me in excess of £20 Quick meal out for two in our local Italian cost me over £100 That doesn't include train, petrol, food, drink etc etc etc. I paid £120 for two for Palace (inc. some food, drink, travel), £200 for two for Swansea (inc. food, drink, petrol) and Man Utd will cost about £400. We've got a trip up the Shard (a present) to do. Train to London (although my season makes it free for me) and the inevitable food and drink will no doubt cost loads. Everything is bloody expensive. So my point is that I think people really are picking and choosing more than ever now. 2 matches a month, or 1 match and a meal out etc.
  3. Page 28 - Overview? The prices are there!! Cat C - Lounge £145+VAT, Suite £120+VAT, Bar £60+VAT
  4. Why don't you look on the club website? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/documents/61210-hospo-brochure-new-web148-869934.PDF
  5. Oh well. If he plays like he did today, I could play in his position.
  6. That it was ... we've been like a f*cking library so far, but that was much better. On another note, Fox was horrible today. Sorry Mr Fantastic Mr Fox, great back up you may be, but you were sh*te today. Again. You were out paced by your man, you didn't tackle, you didn't track back. I wanted your position.
  7. Load of arse. Great goal, I was still jumping around like a c*nt in front of Wanyama when Jrod came over to tell him it wasn't a goal.
  8. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about, clueless, utterly clueless. How many does he get right? We're so much better than he gives us credit for, he must really hate Saints.
  9. What's the point of it?
  10. But they aren't in Southampton though ... ?? It makes me laugh when people say "where is nice to eat in Southampton" and someone answers with Limewood. Personally I don't get the fuss anymore with top end places - I'd far rather sit in a nice Italian or really good pub with nice very well cooked food and a nice, relaxed atmosphere with well cooked, good quality meat. And somewhere I can get nice wine. I like South Western House for that reason (and it's IN Southampton) - nice atmosphere, good food, good wine - not over the top. As nice as Limewood is, I'm not sure I'd rush back - last ate there last Christmas day - was good, but not as relaxing as I'd hoped. I do prefer the TerraVina to Limewood - little more relaxed.
  11. It's trendy. Look at the amount of goals scored last weekend by a long ball from the Goalkeeper ... quite a few. Bang, straight down the middle (hoofball!?), striker splits the defence and scores. There were at least 3 I can think of. Turkish is right ... the "get it fooorrrwwwarrrddd" terrace managers will love it!
  12. I saw David Bull on Saturday, but it was only after that I realised I've been meaning to ask him for years if he still has the tape of his conversation with my Grandad - he must have met him years ago, 2000 or so and I know they talked about Charlie Wayman and his bike etc etc., but I'd really love a copy of the tape of transcript just to see what he said. Would you be able to ask him for me please as I've lost his email address? He might not remember, but he interviewed Don Soffe and it was in a pub, er, near, er, Swanwick I think!? 99, 2000 or so?
  13. I'm bored with the Sunderland match and was browsing the Palace forum, saw this; http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=137934 I haven't bought a programme for a while, but thought this was amusing - is it really that bad now? Is it really A4 as well? That does seem weird, but I've no idea if that's normal anywhere else now.
  14. The original post isn't even worthy of comment it's so ridiculous. Yes, the home support isn't always fantastic, but have you been watching the matches on Sky Sports today? Right now, you could hear a pin drop - both home and away fans really are terrible. Generally away fans are louder as it's concentrated support and Palace were okay in that respect. But this Sunderland - Liverpool match might as well be in a library.
  15. We win at home when our team become fathers ... we need to lock them away with their women more often.
  16. Disagree - I had a fairly good view of it and you could see that he saw Boruc's arm coming out and deciding to throw himself down rather than jump over it and score. I said straight away; "dive". Happy to stand corrected on MoTD soon, but definitely a dive, even on first viewing.
  17. Yep, I only got mine on Wednesday and the bottom 6 rows in block 3 were available then.
  18. Wow, that's really amazing actually and someone that I haven't heard of before. There are so many "what ifs" in that story - what if it had been real? What if he'd sent the instruction up the chain of command? I am getting more fascinated by the cold war now, will have to start reading up on it more - must be some good books around that I can read on my daily commute to Waterloo?
  19. What gravy train is this? I'd very much like to find it in the private sector. What a dinlo statement.
  20. First time I've had a chance to go this season ... having just paid £66 for two tickets (only three days before the match), I'm not surprised it's not filling up this season ...
  21. If it hasn't been said already ... wasn't this similar to a certain Le Tissier!?
  22. Can you get Virgin Media in your street, but just not to the block of flats? If there are enough people willing to take up VM and there is a cable running nearby, they may well come out, do an assessment and see if it's worth doing. I managed to get someone out for a friend of mine in Derby once and they cabled up 8 houses in a new cul-de-sac which ran off an already cabled road. As for the voting - it's their prerogative, but it may be worth pointing out that if they took the same approach with elections, would a no show mean a vote a certain way?
  23. Bit uncalled for?
  24. I don't get the hate for Young either. He's a good player who was very good at one point - you don't play for Man Utd (or for Sir Alex) if you're not good. Likewise, Cleverly - has a lot to learn but will be good. Lallana is certainly no worse though, agreed.
  25. Agreed. Was an avid F1 fan, even until as recently as 2 years ago, but last year and especially this year have gone off the boil for me. I have watched 1 race this season and decided it was boring and too technical - I don't want to have to keep count of who has pitted when and what tyres they've had, I just want racing!! Moving to Sky was also a bad move as they broke up what was actually a fairly good format on the BBC.
