  1. Nice, that'll do. We aren't overly original so may as well steal that too!
  2. Who cares if it's a success or a drain, it's all bullsh*t and conjecture. Why can't people just bloody well enjoy something without over-analysing every minute detail - I do wonder about most of you lot on here, far too much time on your hands. Maybe the economy would be in a better shape if everyone worked harder and got off the internet offering their opinions.
  3. Totally agree that it's not right to eat bags and bags of crisps. Sure, many of them taste lovely and some of them lower in fats than others, but they are SO unhealthy - all the saturated fats, salt and carbs. A horrible snack for your health. More and more people do seem overweight, especially kids. When I was at school, in our whole year of 200 or so, we had one "fat kid", now how many do you see? I don't know what's to blame, junk food, TV, laziness, a combination of everything? I do many people filling their trollies with complete crap in supermarkets - their choice I guess, but it doesn't help.
  4. I'd like to nominate B&Q. Not 'customer service' as such, but their website, a truly dreadful eCommerce experience. What kind of eCommerce store lets you do all your shopping (I wanted a load of garden stuff including fences, soil, cement etc etc) and then when you get to the checkout all you can do is reserve it at a store. The reason I was bloody shopping online is to get it all delivered as I don't have a van!! So I went to the Wickes website, ordered the same items and got it all delivered 2 days later - now that is service. So B&Q - most pointless eCommerce site award from me!
  5. This is excellent marketing. Everyone hates the advert, yet everyone talks about it so it's not forgotten. However, I suspect their sales aren't as good as the Meerkats marketing campaign which appeals more to Joe Average. They did some direct research recently to ask everyone which was their favourite Go Compare advert - the "old fashioned" one with the plinky-plonky piano music one, unsurprisingly, so now they've acted on this to get rid of the "annoying fat bloke" - you've noticed this, you've posted it on here, therefore their new campaign has already gone viral - masterpiece.
  6. 95% of tennis fans at Wimbledon are mental. Well, Hopefully I'll fall in to the 95%, would hate to disappoint! I have tickets for No. 1 court tomorrow, looking forward to it - first time I've entered the draw for tickets and got two good ones. Not sure what to expect, but I'm sure there will be plenty of places to drink and people watch. People watching will no doubt be quite amusing.
  7. ntl: were not "taken over". ntl: bought Telewest and Virgin Mobile. With that, that bought the right to rebrand as Virgin Media. Their customer service really isn't that bad, there are FAR worse companies out there - what's your problem? I still know plenty of people that work there if you need help?
  8. Add two words for you.
  9. Just talk about how impressive you are and print anything you've ever been sent (as you say people have praised you) to back your claim up. Mention areas you want to improve in and learn more about, not in a negative way, but positively i.e. you're not saying you're bad, but that you want to be even better or learn new skills. As for your perception on the new guy, you're probably right - you will be more "lazy" compared to him as he's new and wants to impress and you've settled in and have probably started to plod without realising it. Up your game! Get in 10 minutes earlier, be a little more proactive and use your experience of the company/role to your advantage - that's where you have more strength over the new boy. If that fails, smack him
  10. I assume that is just a pure vision and an end goal. If they are to move towards that end goal then it'll definitely be completed in baby steps, small bits at a time. Redevelop the front and road, buy the land next to the ground, develop on that ground, link the two buildings, expand the stadium if there is demand, wrap the stuff around it, etc etc etc. I think it's great to have a vision like that, but it'll certainly be protracted over many years.
  11. ********, not good enough, move on, simple as that.
  12. Hah! Know exactly who you mean, sad cases.
  13. Seriously, do you do any work? You are paid by the taxpayer, yet always posting on here??
  14. On the contrary, most eCommerce companies DO like the insistance from Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera that you need to upgrade. That's why in the stats graph we see all those browsers as one block with IE6, 7, 8 and 9 as separate bloody lines as numpties haven't upgraded and Microsoft haven't "insisted"
  15. Stats show IE9 is the most used (already), followed by FF (all), Chrome, IE8, Safari, Opera and then IE7 and IE6 (!!). At work, I use a Macbook Air with Safari and Chrome (Chrome is my fav) and I also run a Microsoft VM to run legacy web-based apps in IE and have IE9, Chrome, Firefox and Opera on there. Chrome is easily the best browser for every day use. Firefox the best for developers where you can add in Firebug etc., for easy debugging.
  16. Exactly - I think those of us commenting are mid-30s upwards. Turkish and I are both mid-30s, VFTT similar and I would assume others who have commented are older than 30-odd as well. The Weekend Offender stuff isn't for me, but I can understand why a 16/17 year old might want to wear it. The fact you can buy it in USC isn't a good thing either - the whole idea behind "good clobber" is the opposite to standard high street really! I mean at the moment, I love Pretty Green stuff and bought a bit from their store this weekend, however, I can see that if the brand grows huge, they open many more stores, it starts getting everywhere, that the appeal would die off - for me anyway!
  17. I quite like some of the Norse Projects stuff, never ordered any - what is their fit like? Always hard to tell on a brand you've never worn. Agree also; I've never liked that Weekend Offender stuff, even just for the name!! Bought these at the weekend - http://www.size.co.uk/product/adidas-originals-sl-72/78159/?cm_vc=Product1 - loving their re-issues at the moment.
  18. Stopped in the new UK Blauer store in Beak Street last week - not impressed, all comes over a bit, naff, being based on US Police/Fireman wear.
  19. Surprised you haven't been! Definitely get over there. It does my head in for longer than 4 or 5 days (like London), but worth going over, do the tourist stuff, do some bus tours, bit of shopping (although it isn't THAT cheap in my opinion), enjoy some good bars and places to eat etc. If you're booking a Flight + Hotel together, Expedia will be one of the cheapest to build your own package with some good savings for booking the two together. And yes, don't forget your ESTA.
  20. Allow me to quantify ... it is hilariously written, it's like it's been written by a jumped-up, very self-righteous uni student heading for a third class degree at some **** poor ex-Poly.
  21. That is hilarious!
  22. Sod off and live in France, Rebecca.
  23. Ah well ... I was going to say that "self-righteous pr*cks" start with a 'T' .........
