  1. Very true. But I don't recall you as a PTS nutjob.. :-)
  2. Hmmmm, body paint? I'm glad its not an issue at my level.. I quite like the mittens idea..
  3. Bloomiin' US software - snig gering..
  4. I'm on holiday but I've sneakily looked at the PTS thread and feel slightly dirty whilst s******ing at the same time. It's keeping my grin wide after the win today...
  5. Can't help thinking that's the wrong way round, taste buds and all that. Either way, you owe me €4.50 for the glass you offered. In case the mods get stroppy, this is entirely Saints related!
  6. Cheers Batman, these summaries are really useful.
  7. It's 'La Luna del Tempo', a 12 month oak-aged Barbera from Piemonte,it's very good. Thank goodness the nibbles line the stomach! I'm in posh tart mode and don't care. I may slum it with a few beers later.
  8. Just found a wi-fi spot to get the results. Embarrassed myself in a wine bar with a loud shout when I read the thread title... :) I'm staying for a few more...
  9. Charlie is my darling, my darling, my darling, Charlie is my darling, now go score a goal!
  10. Yeah, and I hope they returned those Koi carp to their rightful owner, they're expensive fish..
  11. To weaken us..
  12. Why did i bother to read?
  13. When I say decent speed I mean he's not a pace man but doesn't look like he's running through treacle like JWP. :-) i'd agree about not really being a hold up player, but I think that may develop as he gains strength. He has reasonably quick feet too, which may help.
  14. I thought Reed had a good game, as if to prove to the watching Koeman that he could do a good job: endless running, some great anticipation and tackling, and always there to pick up the loose ball. Nice finish for the goal too. Whover said Gallagher had had a growth spurt seems to be right! He looked taller than I remember and just a little bit awkward and unco-ordinated. Winger doesn't suit him, although he beat the defender a number of times. I presume it's part of his development to play in different positions. From the replay thought the second goal wasn't a free kick as the defender got a foot to the ball and hoiked it away. Although difficult Gazza did seem to flap a bit: a bit Sunday (afternoon), and should have made himself bigger at least. Sims and Hesketh have ability but still look like kids, Seager is a poacher and finisher but he does show decent speed, and probably more importantly he anticipates and takes risks about where the ball may end up.
  15. Thanks for pointing that out Thorpie.. :-) Will Seager play, I wonder? ;-)
  16. yes, cheers, but he doesn't give his or the Academy's opinion on the current crop of youngsters.
  17. I have to say that the media have jumped on this and looks like a lot of people have lapped up their message and seen it as a terrible and unjustified criticism of the academy. I think even the staff know that this generation isn't of the best and I'd welcome Guan's view on that. I actually watch the U21s on youtube occasionally and think that my stance would be roughly in agreement but that we need occasionally to take a risk. For example Targett may not be at the same level as Bertrand particularly for attacking, but he hasn't disgraced himself and his appearance doesn't induce a 'Danny Fox' or 'LeeTodd groan'.. So, yes, a short spell for Seager or Gallagher (when he regains his coordination!) might be useful, if only for showing them the level they have to achieve.
  18. Saves me writing a longer post. Thank you for the executive summary.
  19. Yep, Yoshida didn't look at all confident throughout the half he played; hesitant, playing only the simplest of passes and complaining he had no one to pass to (well, I suppose not with his accuracy..). He's now given away three goals this season, so perhaps it's time for a youngster? The second I was already shouting at the defence to keep switched on, and I can't help thinking Forster would have got a stronger hand on the save to put it out of the way of the oncoming attacker. Positives were the effort Mane put in (decision making..hmm) and some of the forward passing of Clasie. It was also good to see Romeu trying a shot from outside the box (deflected behind for a corner).
  20. Well, at least you made me laugh, for once.
  21. There's a live Youtube stream..
  22. Oooh, a battle of the threads... Mods?
  23. floater
  24. I've said this before about Gallagher that he maybe hadn't finished growing and this could be affecting him, but that was at least a year ago, I think. Interesting if true.
  25. Can somebody text Alpine and tell him the score was four nil? ;-)
