Indeed! To be honest perch and pike taste much better and gudgeon make a great fry up. They also eat tench here in Italy although it's a very localised dish. As for chub, the only recipe I know talks about baking it between two boards, then throw away the chub and eat the boards. I've never had mirror carp but it's always been a staple of continental fish farming: a source of protein you can raise anywhere. The best fish I've had is extremely fresh mackerel and extremely fresh tuna (when we eventually landed it on the yacht I was crewing). To be honest, I reckon mackerel shade it.

Ha! Not if you teach English in Italy. Mind you, I do have savings which I'd be prepared to spend for something worthwhile....

Hmmm, how many can you cram in a Westerly Centaur; they'll not get you as wet as a Sadler... I may have a course to teach on Mondays so it would be a pain getting there and back from Italy. Doing no planning for any trip yet as I think it _highly_ unlikely, but, but GM you bastard, raising the thought!;-)

Gawd, the things those casinos do to keep you there losing money!

Quote from the Pompey trust meeting regarding season ticket prices: "AA pointed out that money is needed to update the stadium." Hmm, shame not much was done with all the money swilling around earlier. Still, some footballers were made very rich (let alone owners and directors...).

[quote=dubai_phil;687046 What it really needs are some of our wiser more other forum savvy members starting to explain things in detail on the forums of other fans such as Hull, Burnley, West Ham especially, but also well managed (financially) teams like Bolton, Wigan, Birmingham etc. Get the Geordie hordes onside - they saw what "living in their means" did to their club last season at the expense of the cheats. The anger needs to come from OTHER clubs. The basic details of this story need to be told. Journalists should be given a precis of the salient points and our thought processes from this thread. Becoming a whingeing Pom again is not something I am interested in. I gave up when I gave up being an Uberfan Now that IS a good idea! Must admit life is too short for wasting too much time on the subject, but it is fascinating, like watching a car crash. Might go skiing tomorrow, work and playing footie on Wednesday so I'll leave it to the other forum visitors..

Some complaints might even come from abroad... Alpine, Dubai, Eric...?

Sh^t, have I missed something!!

Westerly Centaur? Anyway, shame on you going sailing in footie season. I shall be doing housework or lesson preparation or something and popping in here. Wish I felt confident but I don't.

The Waterfront as some have mentioned but a bit further away there is The Junction at St Denys. It has a garden and a childrens room (known to locals as The Myra Hindley suite...) Leave when the other Saints fan do and you should be in time for the match.

Some on The News forum have had the right reaction: "haha...just proves what a joke we have become! We don't even know what terms we've signed players up on! Priceless!"
-
Dave Juson, one of the Hagiography authors has done some articles on CM, and i think some have appeared in Saints programmes. IIRC so has a guy who has lived in Brazil called Aidan Hamilton but not sure where published.
