I'd love to see the equivalent selection from the Daily Fail/Wail/Heil..

How about crowdfunding some ground improvements or their own training ground?

Behave!

I had company on Saturday so only managed to see a short part of the first half, including the goal and a surprisingly competent Vestergard, with his good long passing and moving forward through the lines. I didn't expect the same result when I caught up later, but we did it, and in the circumstances I think the result, not the performance, was the important thing. For all the talk of Burnley's injury list I have to say that our bench was nothing to write home about, and we do look a few injuries away from disaster. I look on Armstrong and Djenepo's poor performances as simply those of players who have been rushed back to play in the absence of alternatives..

i honestly don't know. I think when SFC withdrew support the old team that won all of those FA cups went off on their own, and it's only fairly recently that the club have renewed support for women's football.

Thanks, but it's our first Hampshire League game of the season, and I'll be relying on adrenalin to overcome the pain of my sciatica! Just hope my team don't get them in the cup, it would be very embarrassing! Good to see though, and maybe Turkish will watch as well. 😉

Well, that would certainly be more your style..

come off the bench to replace Reed..

Crikey, we are all depressed, aren't we, if the build up thread has only just been posted. Lawrenson's analysis may be crap, but so are Saints at the moment and I'm not feeling very optimistic, particularly as I can now make the pub to watch the game. I feel we're a couple of injuries from disaster, and if 'Arry Redknapp made the comment now - 'bare bones' - I'd feel for once he was being accurate. Surely we must strengthen our midfield before the window closes? Doesn't Gao realise it'll be even more of a fire sale if we get relegated?
-
Yep, just had a look. Think I recognized two of the Brighton names. Mind you, don't think Saints have a second team that could do that.
-
Wasn't6 it just! Just got in from training, found a link, found we were 1-0 down then that. You could see it all happening in slow motion.
-
But as a realistic poster you know we won't, indeed can't, for what we're prepared to spend. It's a shame, as I was always optimistic when he was on the pitch even if I was generally disappointed..

Saints v Brentford Carabao Cup Round 2 - build up
suewhistle replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Does too! Just not in association football.. -
He could pocket a few this season..
-
I agree with this, and as Stevy points out he was unlucky with injuries last season. Also I don't think 'not a bit part role' means starting every game, but more not 'only considered when we're desperate'. i don't think he's fit for today, is he? Which would rather illustrate the problem.

I see what you mean. Short staccato sentences. written with a 12 year old's vocabulary. Not a bright one.

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m

These summarise it for me. The Bordeaux experience doesn't bode well either. -
Thanks, I couldn't remember the details..

Yeah, load the debt back on to the club.. Not even Gao's excuse of trying to get his money out of China. -
I know, Saturday night! I feel guilty already but off to source a hazmat suit.
-
Just put my head round the door of one of the village pubs as I cycled back from the allotment: they will have it on but can't guarantee a place due to current rules.. Think I'll risk it..
-
Didn't he have injuries last season which was why he was eased back in with subs appearances? RH sees him every day in training and can see the attitude and skills so if he wants him he must have confidence in him.

My recollection of Keane is just being a violent thug. Would that be a fair view?

Me?! Do anything illegal? /clutches pearls/.. Very sensible! Mind you, had a table to myself and plenty of space when I watched some of the restart games there. Everybody was being very good with the hand gel and washing although I don't know whether that has relaxed much as I haven't been back. Seeing as we've restarted football training and had our first friendly (and even that had to be registered with the FA) there seem plenty of opportunities to pass it on elsewhere..

Yeah, that's a good point. Where I go has an outside area, which may possibly help, and 3pm on a Saturday is not particularly busy. It's difficult to plan anything at the moment. The government doesn't even bother trying. I might take the opportunity to travel from Hampshire to Scotland for a Covid test..
