Should be a really entertaining game. 2 likeable teams and managers who go about things the right way. Will be a tough one but they'll be expecting a difficult afternoon and there's no reason we can't come home with 3 points in the bag again.

Much better strength in depth than last season, presuming the new boys are up to it. ...........Forster Clyne Toby Fonte Bertrand Schneiderlin Cork/Wanyama ..............Tadic ...Mane...........Rodriguez ..............Pelle Boruc Gardos Targett Davis Cork/Wanyama JWP Long Very strong bench

Get Toby & Mane in asap, big Jos out on loan. Then turn off the phones, go home, put SSN on and watch the chaos unfold. That'd be ideal IMO.

Danny Welbeck - Told he can leave.. Only for mid table club

Goodbye England career. Only ever played for England because he was at United. No thanks, j-rod is twice the player -
No thanks. Exactly the dumb pacey wide man we could do without. Head down, run to the byeline and cross without looking up, or cut inside and shoot without looking for a better option, or beat a man with a heavy touch and lose possession, or try to beat the same man 3 times instead of passing. Has ability but lacks the intelligence to be coached into a proper player IMO. See Zaha, Redmond, etc etc, skillful but not team players. Anyway, I doubt AT is looking to leave Spurs, and I doubt Spurs are really looking to sell.

JWP won't be dropped. He had a decent game and his set peices will be vital against a team we're going to have to break down. Pelle didn't get much change out of Lovren and Skrtel, hopefully he'll have more joy against a weaker defence. I'd keep it unchanged, but if there is to be one I wouldn't mind Long for Davis with JWP moving back into Davis' position.

A good summary would be: 'Squad is worryingly thin, time is worryingly short'
-
To avoid a relegation battle.

I haven't had time to keep up with any of this today, and just read this last page first. There seems to be a lack of anger, misery and bed wetting. Is good news imminent?
-
I remain prepared for nothing but disappointment.

Meh. 1 step closer to naming an 18 with some top level experience I suppose. Watch Clyne to Liverpool get announced tomorrow now.

Do we have one of the top 5 best academies in Europe?
Jack replied to Wiggles31's topic in The Saints
I would say definitely top 6. If not top 7. We're the envy of most of Europe. -
Every ounce of me hopes that this happens - QPR and Redknapp massively struggle that is. The two are so well suited to each other, complete sh*tters.

I think that mistake can be forgiven, it's not like we've seen the #10 shirt in action much in the last couple of seasons. Give Tadic #10, number 21 Gaston Ramirez has a nice ring to it, and I think he's just about got it in him to fill Guly's boots.
-
Sticky before any announcement - surely asking for trouble?!
-
**** him. I'd like to see him given the maximum fine possible by the club, then made to train with the reserves until he comes up with a convincing apology to the club and fans, and then can go about trying to regain a spot in the starting XI. We need to make an example of him, and show everyone, most importantly the players and any club that thinks they can get our players to force a move in this way, that we won't be held to ransom.
-
A first XI full of foreigners - it jut doesn't look right after the last couple of seasons. I think it's so much easier to have pride in a team whose core is English. Sad.
-
This is ********. He's one of the very best CMs in the league, and is pivotal to how we play. And with shots on goal - it's not like he has that many is it? He gets a goal here and there but is much more likely to keep us in possession and allow everyone else to do their jobs. We need to stem the flow here and remind him about that shiny new contract he's got. If he sulks about it, f*cking tough. We need to send a message that not all of out assets are up for grabs, and especially if it's Poch and those horrible c*nts at WHL. To them, not at any price.

Losing Lallana is a massive blow, but what worries me the most is the knock-on effect it could have. If I was Lovren, Morgan, J-Rod I'd be much more tempted to push for a move. And it's obvious that once a player gets an idea like that in their head, they're in the driving seat.

@usasoccerguy on twitter: @usasoccerguy: Having seen it again, it was pretty bad of the Italian guy to shoulder him in the teeth. #soccerbeaver

Just like Benteke. Young, quick, powerful, when they're on it they're unplayable, but massively blow hot and cold. Potential is there, I'd take either if there was a chance.
