Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
aintforever replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Great news, as long as we invest all the cash in the squad. Glad we have finally got rid of the ****, the last thing you need is tossers like him around the team. -
You can't understand why football fans like their team's top scorer? Wow.
-
To be fair to Pellegrino, at the start of the season he said he only wanted players who were committed to the club. Wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to flog him in the summer but was over-ruled by Reed - might explain why he still has a job - if he’s been proven correct.
-
“We showed character” - what a clueless tosser.
-
Think Les is in last chance saloon. He’s earned the right to sort the mess out, all clubs make a dodgy managerial decision every now and again. His career rests on the next appointment - get it wrong and were down, get it right and invest the VVD well and we will be in decent shape.
-
True. Typical of our luck - finally get a rich owner and he pops his clogs after just a few years.

We don’t buy success, we breed it.
-
Don’t worry, James Ward Prowse is coming on to save the day.
-
All Kane had to do was carry on running with the ball, wait for Yoshidas pathetic lunge and watch our keeper jump out the way.
-
Anyone else not even get excited with Shane Long clean through?
-
Romeo’s marking for their goal was just pathetic. Even 12 year olds know you must be goal side.
-
He’s to ****ing thick to judge the flight of the ball, that’s why he stays rooted all the time.
-
Forster - what a ****
-
He’s clearly out of his depth. Still doesn’t know his best line up, looks to me like he is trying to stumble across a winning formula. There is nothing in his CV to suggest he has the ability to get us out of this mess, his appointment was a gamble - just get rid. The later we leave it the less of a chance the new guy will have if keeping us up, when I look at the fixture list I fear Reed’s dithering may already have cost us though.
-
I couldn’t care less where the ****** ends up. Just sort it out and invest the money in sorting out the squad.
-
If we play well with a bit of luck we might be able to grind out a narrow defeat.
-
Well they are not going about it very well, if we go down their ‘investment’ is going to be worth peanuts.
-
I disagree, the only time the league table tells you exactly how good you are is after the final game, saying we’re not in a relegation scrap because we are 12th at this stage is nonsense IMO. I don’t think we will go down because with our squad we should only get better, even with this clown in charge. But it’s a very real possibility.
-
This time last year Middlesbrough were 14th and 4 points clear of the relegation zone - does that mean they were not in a relegation battle?
-
The main purpose of a good academy is to attract the best young players, they are not a magic factory that turn useless kids into Prem footballers. I expect it’s just a case of other clubs catching up or getting better than us. Or more likely the big 6 hoovering everyone up within miles.
-
Being 12th could be relegation form if you’ve had easier fixtures and other teams are improving.

You can’t have a SWF thread without Verbal banging on about Jews.

If a black guy wants to go in fancy dress as a white person is it OK for him to whiteface?
-
Unless you worked there at the time I guess it’s impossible to say how much input Reed had. The only thing for sure is that by far the biggest reason for success is Marcus’ millions, Cortese and other employees did their bit but it’s cash that got us where we are.
-
Maybe, but surely it's the type of acquisition (like the Glazers) that's important not what country they are from.
