I would only sell if we have a decent replacement lined up. £8mill is decent money for someone of his age but if the team goes to c*ck we could lose that in league position prize money anyway. Plus we have shown you can easily spend £15mill on garbage nowadays and Lambert is one of our best players.

Romania and Bulgaria immigration restrictions to lifted

I have no issues with France or Spain controlling their own immigration. I expect you will find they will still welcome retired wealthy Brits and skilled british workers. -

Of course immigration has it's benefits, it also has it's negative effects which is why it should be controlled. No one is saying stop all immigration. My company employs a load of Polish, we were doing just as well years ago and never had any problem getting English people to do the jobs just now to compete with the company down the road we have to. As long as it's the unskilled work no one cares but it's inevitable that soon the same downward wage pressure will be on skilled jobs. It depends what job you do but chances are that somewhere there is a better qualified Romanian willing to do it for a fraction of your salary. -

It is madness. Wages wise it is just going to mean a quicker race to the bottom. Nothing will be done as long as it's just the unskilled or low skilled jobs they are taking up and we can moan about the lazy british workers not wanting the dirty jobs. It's just a matter of time before the more skilled jobs will be filled with people from these countries willing to do it for a fraction of the cost. -
You just don't like the fact that "anything but Lowe" has turned out to be the best option. God knows where we would be if we still had Lowe and the PLC still in place, probably in the lower reaches of the Championship at best, "cutting our cloth to fit" on an eternal downward spiral. As Morph says, we can laugh about it now.
-
And without the rugby coaches, or Steve Wigley manager type appointments. Lowe was completely unsuitable and we needed a change. That's why even someone like Michael Wilde was welcomed with open arms. And thank god we did.
-
And you were so right about Rupert Lowe! LOL
-
Just like you knew the Lee Rigby murder was a false flag operation carried out by our own government.
-
Yeah, but I think it was pretty much the whole fan base apart from a few loons on here. The thing is, knowing what we know now about Wilde, I would still back them ahead of Lowe because at the time the club needed to change and they were the only option. We were on a downward spiral, Wilde and co were never the perfect people to run a football club but presented with the choice it was 100% the right thing to do. That's why when nobheads like Guided Missile started on him with their own personal agenda they were rounded on.

I live near Southampton and someone was murdered there once.

LOL at Pap being involved in a criminal underworld. The mind boggles as to where his vivid imagination is going to take this thread.
-
I hope he gets better but if you choose to slide really fast down an icy mountain on two thin bits of wood you should expect to get injured at some point.

It would make sense to force them to explain these sort of decisions. At the moment it is too easy for them to pander to the home fans, especially at the bigger clubs. If they knew they had to go on TV and explain why they made their decision they would be more inclined to give it how they see it.

A thread about offending people on a football fan's forum is only going to go one way.
-
Puncheon always has one or two games like that in him but never seemed to do it often enough. Decent player though, would welcome him back but think we could get better with the sort of cash we like to chuck around.
-
I always thought the problem was Wilde promised new investment and failed to deliver. Leaving Saints in a pretty sh!tty position. Crouch appointed Pearson and kept us up when he was chairman. He has to take some of the blame for the Wilde era but Lowe was destroying the club anyway and carried on where he left off after Crouch had gone.
-
Would be great if common sense prevailed and safe standing was allowed. There is no logical reason why it shouldn't. I doubt it will though because I expect clubs prefer to sell seats at the higher price and there is probably nothing to gain financially by converting back. Maybe dwindling attendances and lack of atmosphere might prompt them to make it happen?

Adam Lallana pledges future to Southampton
aintforever replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Great stuff. Zero chance of him leaving in January. -
I think the best we can hope for in the league is 6th, but we will need to strengthen in January or be very lucky with injuries to achieve that. Hopefully now that chances of either being relegated or qualifying for Europe in the League are obviously far fetched we will put a half decent side out in the FA Cup.
-
From what I have heard Carroll is likely to be out 'injured' for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted Lambert to fill the gap. I doubt very much Saints would sell though.

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United plan to sign Adam Lallana
aintforever replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It was still in place a year or so ago according to my mate at Bournemouth so I doubt they would have cashed in on it unless it was for a sizeable amount. -
It takes time for any player to get used to playing in the Premier League, especially a 21 year old goalkeeper who has seen little or no action of any kind this season. He still shows plenty of potential, anyone writing him off because of a few mistakes is an idiot.

He would be better off going to a top 4 club. -

Yeah, they would have to double that to get any interest IMO. -

They would have to stump up a sh!t load of cash to temp Cortese into selling.
