  1. This bit is interesting: "Cortese resigned as a Mali director in October last year on the very same day as Liebherr was appointed to the board." Suggests to me that they simply don't get on, that's the start and end of it. It's nothing specifically to do with anything SFC.
  2. Ted Bates achieved plenty, lots of people liked him too.
  3. That's still the gayest thing I've ever seen on the internet.
  4. Didn't we take out some loan from the British Virgin Isles?
  5. Seriously doubt it. If clubs our size can blow £30mill+ on players each summer and still make a profit I think they all would be doing it.
  6. At least our catering facilities are in safe hands.
  7. Great news, it would be good if now we can have a successful club without he petty personal vendettas.
  8. From what I've been told NC has a stake in the club already.
  9. As I said in the other thread, the only thing that really matters is what Leibherr plans to do with the club, If she is happy to keep investing whoever is Chief Exec is not as big an issue.
  10. That still makes me laugh.
  11. When was the last time you laughed your balls off (or even noticed) when a chairman of another club left? Portsmouth doesn't count.
  12. A great chairman but also a nob.
  13. It could be a disaster but I would be more worried about WHY Cortese left than the fact that he is not there to give his motivational speeches. him going does hint at Leibherr not wanting to fund his vision. Now that IS a problem, a much bigger one that the loss of a good CEO.
  14. I think you will find the main reason Poch, Osvaldo, Wanyama, gaston, lovren and shaw are here is a f*cking sh!t load of money.
  15. Rickie's personal terms being he wants to play for a decent club that plays a good brand of football that's not at the arse end of the league.
  16. this
  17. Losing Cortese is a blow but I think we should be more concerned about who the Liebherrs sell us to and what debts we will be left with.
  18. yeah obviously. I would hate to be a Man City fan at the moment.
  19. Being a rich person's plaything is the best option IMO, look at City and Chelsea.
  20. It will be a shame if he does leave but we should be more worried about being left with a Pompey-style debt than replacing the bloke who signs the cheques.
  21. Didn't he do this last time he wanted money to spend on players?
  22. It wasn't sold out, there were thousands of empty seats.
  23. I agree we should focus on the cup but i am still thoroughly enjoying the League campaign. With a bit of luck we could catch some of the teams above us and it's great to be able to enjoy the football without the pressure of a relegation scrap. Watching team like West ham and Fulham slug it out is hilarious.
